  1. My Current Load Order is this: Fallout3.esm Anchorage.esm ThePitt.esm BrokenSteel.esm PointLookout.esm Zeta.esm Fallout3.Hardcoded.esp
  2. Okay, I apologize in advance if this sort of thing has been posted, discussed and answered before but I've checked the first few pages of this forum and none of the suggestions seem to work. I've recently re-installed Fallout 3 onto my PC running Windows 7 64x. I know for a fact my computer can run the game well. I was having trouble creating a Merged Patch, as I've seen suggested around the web and all around the Nexus and was running into problems. This was after I had installed several mods: Fallout 3 Wanderers Edition (FWE) Marts Mutant Mod (MMM) Weapon Mod Kits (WMK) Energy Weapons Enhanced (EWE) Fellout Enhanced Rain and Snow Fallout Re-Designed / Project Beauty. I had some issues with my load order but was able to correct that. The problem I'm currently having is [00:24] Background Loader: [C:\Games\Fallout 3 Game\Data\] Setting Resource Path. [00:24] Background Loader: terminated I saw somewhere that it was due to being installed within C:/ProgramFiles(x86) so I have since uninstalled and re-installed to a location outside of Program Files. I decided to try loading FO3Edit before installing and other mods whatsoever and same result. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I've been unable to solve this myself and have not had any luck with other suggestions seen around the interwebs. If any other information about the problem is required, let me know and I'd be happy to provide it! :D Thanks and apologies for the lengthy initial post!
  3. I've just tried both suggestions mentioned in this thread to no avail, neither worked. Thanks anyway! Also, I do realize this thread is probably dead but it doesn't seem to have a conclusion. I stumbled across it doing a google search so I figured I'd leave this here for anyone else that happens to have the same issue and finds this thread.
  4. I didn't even realize I could allow Ad-Blocker to show adds from some sites. I've set it up so I can see them on here as of now!
  5. This thought popped into my head while I was playing with several other fully fleshed out followers (modded in of course!) and, me not knowing much beyond changing the base stats of items, need help making this new follower. Perhaps even have someone pick it up and make it themselves! Think of a sort of roguish sort of character wearing a suit of leather that appears to have plenty of pockets, satchels, vials and wielding a dagger and crossbow. Think Witcher-esque. Smart, Suave and Loyal to only the shine of gold. An agent of the Imperials sent to assassinate key targets within the Stormcloak hierarchy, and, if given the chance, to kill Ulfric himself. The player would stumble upon this fellow at some point in the Civil War quest, no matter which side he/she has chosen. If working for the Imperials, you receive a note asking for a meetup. That perhaps you could help each other. If working for the Stormcloaks; he shows up randomly in your travels after joining the Stormcloaks to make an attempt on your life, he'd fail and in defeat would ask that you spare him, that he may explain himself. Either way, if you so choose, he will join you and offer you his services. What makes him unique, other than his fleshed out story line, is that the player can give him Alchemical Ingredients to make poisons and potions out of. Not only would he make them but he'd use them. Taking on a particularly tough enemy, he poisons his bolts with the appropriate poison for the job and takes the shot. Which poison and when would be up to you. Using the MCM Menu you could choose what strength poisons he makes and which class of enemy he uses it on. Perhaps you only want him to use the most potent of poisons on Giants and Dragons while keeping them in reserve otherwise. Or, even better, your facing off against a large number of opponents, he loads his crossbow with an Explosive Flask to thin their numbers. Need a Health boost in the midst of battle, he can throw a flask of healing at you to get you back into the battle quicker! There isn't a situation in the world he doesn't have a brew for! (On the note of brew, he can make a wide array of alcoholic beverages inspired by drinks from all around Tamriel). Anyway, I'd really like to know what you think of this idea! Perhaps some guidelines on where to start on making a follower as I have absolutely no idea where to even begin! I'd even really love if someone were to pick this idea up and make it themselves, credit for parts of the idea for me ofcourse! Anyway, let me know what you think! :D
  6. Those who have played Guild Wars 2, and possible other games, will know what I'm trying to get at here. I'd like the ability to take the stats from one item and apply them to another item, the item that the stats are taken from is sacrificed in the process. This could be done at the Atronach Forge or something similar! I only ask for this as I really like having a good looking character for whatever role I am playing at any given moment. Personally I don't like the appearance of Daedric, for example, I could craft a set of Daedric then apply the stats onto Ebony which I much prefer the look of! A clever trickster might even take the Daedric Stats and place them on Rags! Anyway, that's my thought. Its most likely been suggested / thought of previously but yeah. Tell me what you reckon! It'd be awesome for someone with more technical modding know-how to pick this up!
  7. I also, really, really, want to be able to conjure a Mystical Shield that matches my Sword and Bow... It'd also be awesome if casting Mage Armor spells caused actual glowing translucent armor to appear! XD
  8. This sounds extremely interesting, I'm a 'Noob' when it comes to modding but I really hope someone see's this and attempts to try it out :D
  9. Hi, So i'm going through the DefaultCoreGame.mod file and am sort of understanding whats going on. But I had this thought; what if someone were to go through it and organize it a little bit more with ;notes so that modding 'noobs' (such as myself) can clearly see what the in game affect of the change may be? If someone were to go through this and make those changes and upload it to the XCOM Nexus I would be so inclined to donate a monetary amount toward them? On a side note the Second Wave options; are they part of the game originally? Or are they modded into the original Balance Mod? Thanks XD
  10. So I had a look at the .bat mod that was linked to earlier on in this thread and I was wondering if it would be at all possible to somehow make it so we can complete the jobs in intervals in such a way that we can then complete the Reputation Quests? As in a .bat for the first x amount of jobs required to unlock access to the first Reputation Quest! then another that jumps it to the second Reputation Quest? Or even just some way to type .bat theifjob to complete a single job at a time? Not sure how this would be done, but it'd be pretty cool and very helpful! :D
  11. I would suggest searching for the mods; Better Quest Books and Better Skill Books On the Steam Workshop, they may also be on the nexus but I am not sure. This isn't a fix for all books but does add a bracket after the title of each book that says which quest it is a part of or which skill it will level. With Skill Books it also has you pick them up without reading to avoid gaining unnecessary levels in unused skills. This may not be a total solution to what your after but I hope this helps :D
  12. Okay, so your adventuring through the snowy tundra that is Skyrim, brutally murdering bandit clans and slaying Dragons and everything in between! You find your self in the middle of a Dwemer ruin when you stumble upon a, only god knows how old, treasure room. As you make your way past the all to obvious signs of traps and start looting anything and everything of value. Suddenly, after placing a somehow still shiny Dwemer Helm into your pocket you find that your unable to run, intead you must drag your over-encumbered Body to the nearest Follower and load them up of with all your new shiny 'Burdens' before turning around and making another loot run through the treasure room. Do you find this annoying? I do. My Idea is as follows; A Group Carry Capacity! Now I'm not sure if this has been done, and if so, I'd really like to find it! If not, then I was wondering if it would be possible for some super awesome modder to possible make it? :D Basically the players carry weight would be that of their own in addition to the sum of their Followers. Say, an extra 250 or 300 Weight Capacity is added to your total for every Humanoid follower and an extra 1000 if you happen to own a horse! This way one can loot and pillage to your hearts desire without having to cart your stuff back to your followers without really knowing how much more they can carry, it'll mean more time actually playing, looting and slaying rather than managing ones inventory and that of their followers in a way that keeps the immersion and realism without simply player.addav strength (or carry weight, I forget which) 100000. Now I realise that I could very easily just open the console and add to my carry weight everytime a follower joins me but not everyone knows how to do this, and its (only a little bit) immersion breaking to have to open up the console! Anyway, I'm not much good at modding short of editing the base stats of Items. I'd very much like to learn more but am unable to due to real life constrains =/ I'm not even sure that this could be done, but if someone who knows a bit about modding see's this and, if I'm lucky, has a crack at it, I'd really appreciate it! Thanks, Sean
  13. Any real Skyrim player/modder uses SKSE! If you don't... well your missing out!
  14. nvm... just keep using Whistle Whistle or a Whistle lol
  15. Where do I learn the Whistle Command? My horse ran off on me and I haven't been able to find him...
  16. Well you know what your doing when it comes to modding, I was wondering if you know how to mod individual item cost/value? One of my mods (not sure which) has set Salt Pile to cost 72 from most Merchants, is there any way for me to make a mod that sets its value to be 3 or what ever its meant to be in vanilla? I can then just load it after all my mods and the cost will be correct. It wouldn't bother me if I wasn't using a survival mod and had to cook all my food. Thanks
  17. Sounds like a very similar issue to me, except NPC's are hostile but they just stand in one spot weapons drawn : |
  18. Bump! I really need help with this! I cannot find a solution or even a mention of a similar problem ANYWHERE! :|
  19. So I started a new character after updating all of my mods in NMM. When my character gets off the cart and the names are being called out Ralof just stands behind me, there is a pause (during which Ralof should walk toward the chop block) then its my turn to create my character. Anyway, Alduin shows up (as usual) and Ralof yells at you to run for the tower, instead he just stands there so I run to the tower. As the door closes Ralof spawns in the tower as he should but still just standing there. After I enter the keep things go alright until combat starts, during which all NPC's draw their weapons and proceed to stare at each other, if they are close enough they will attack but refuse to move a leg. Help! I'm unsure whether its just Helgen or all combat scenarios in the game as this annoys the absolute F#*K out of me and breaks immersion!
  20. Oh well, I just hope that disabling it (when NMM is working again) will fix this issue! Thanks for that!
  21. Please don't say that this is due to Better Villages? I love that mod, it makes the little towns so very cool...
  22. I'm getting the same issue! I've basically done what you did and still the error! :( I so badly want to play Skyrim but I just can't bring myself to play Vanilla anymore :( Someone, please assist!
  23. Also, would anyone happen to know if its only the Hero's and Villans of this mod that cause many NPC's to say 'I don't have to take this from the likes of you'?
