  1. bgScriptEffectSilencer.esp is near the bottom of my load order. Hmm, though it maybe an old copy - it came bundled with another mod. I see that's a differeent file altogether. I'll download it and see if that helps. Thanks!
  2. I have a new sound problem that has perplexed me. In short, I get a repeating thumping sound (continuous, actually) that I can only get rid of by turning the Options-->Audio-->Effects slider down all the way. It came up in the middle of the game soon after I installed DT textures (which I just don't think would have affected sound in any way). Now it doesn't matter whether I load an old save (from before the audio problem) or start a new game - the sound is present anytime the game is not paused. I tried moving the fx folder out of my Oblivion directory completely to no avail. I went into the Oblivion.ini and set bDSoundHWAcceleration to 0. No luck. Don't know enough about the ini file to fool with it any further. Checked to be sure I had the latest soundcard drivers. I have been playing Oblivion with the following mods with no problem. I DID recently get a Windows update, but that was a few days ago, and Oblivion played fine for a while afterwards. My Oblivion.ini file: Active Mod Files: System specs Oblivion is installed in Games, not Program Files. I have the GOTY edition, so it doesn't need patching (won't take 'em anyways). I use OBMM, BOSS, and Wryebash to make everything work. I know my system is not good for games (not what I got it for), but Oblivion works fairly well and only crashes about twice an hour now :) (usually on cell change, I just got tired of fooling with it and just make frequent saves). I obliterated Oblivion from my system (uninstalled/deleted everything, did a complete defrag) - except for my saves. After reinstalling everything, I still have the same problem. I'm stumped! I can play it without effects, but that's just not fun. Any ideas would be helpful, I'm fairly decent on navigating various computer components and settings, I just don't know where to look. Sus
