  1. Wow! That is some interesting stuff. I'm trying to download your mod. Looking forward to trying it.
  2. We know the Dwemmer were into just about every direction of investigation conceivable. I look up at Skyrim's two moons and can't help wondering if they ever visited them. I've searched every Dwemmer ruin for hidden doors leading to a laboratory with some (probably dangerous and strange looking) device. Someone, somewhere, may be unknowingly in possession of a Dwemmer tome or artifact that tells of such a place. I'm a draftsman and map maker. I'll start work on a map of their moon colony or fortress or whatever it turns out that we find there. Did they plan a permanent colony that failed or was it a scientific expedition gone awry? Was it an officially Dwemmer government sanctioned project or a project by a rogue Dwemmer splinter group? Did they accidentally cut themselves off from vital support from home or did they discover something that was better left undiscovered, either of which (or combined) wiping out the members of the project? Were they researching a back door into the realms of Oblivion? We know they studied the Elder Scrolls, with at least some success. Were they searching for a way to control, imprison, or destroy Hermaeus Mora? If Hermaeus Mora starts interfering in our quest that would be an indication that we are on the right trail. We'll never know the answers to any of these questions until or unless we can reach their laboratory or colony. Plus, we may discover more questions than answers.
  3. I've never been against artists (modders) being compensated by some sort of pay system, whether that be donations or the other way. What I have a problem with is paying for a mod that flatly doesn't work, or works fine til another mod is added. Then the user is stuck with a mod they paid for but can't use. And then it's up to the consumer to figure out which mod is the conflict. And you have to admit there are a huge number of those kinds of mods. Where is the protection of the consumer?
  4. I wouldn't be too quick to blame the forum software. I doubt it was exactly accidental. It was more likely OE. ;-)
  5. Thank you very much! Those are going to be quite interesting to check out.
  6. Hmmm. I learned something new. I thought these forums were game specific. Thanks for clearing that up. I'm playing Skyrim. However, some of my ideas might work in some other games. I don't know what animations the different games have.
  7. I had an idea for an animation. I tried to find out if one actually already exists before coming here. I searched "sleep animation." I got hundreds of returns but, after an hour of searching through those results, I couldn't find what I was looking for. We have animations for the player sitting down. We have animations for characters getting in and out of bed. We even have animations of the player and other characters using forges, enchanters and alchemy tables. We have animations of the player getting on and off of animals. We should have an animation for the player getting in and out of bed. When you activate a bed you still get the dialog box asking how long you want to sleep, but then you get an animation of the character getting into bed, similar to the animation of the player sitting down. If the player is attacked while sleeping there could be an animation of the attacker hitting the player and the player getting out of bed to fight. There might even be movement, armor and attack restrictions because the player just got rousted out of sleep. While we're at it there could be a couple more animations. An animation of the player drinking a potion and an animation of the player eating. There would actually be 4 animations. One each of the player drinking while standing and sitting. And one each of the player eating while standing and sitting. I suppose, while we're that deep into it, we need 2 animations of the player drinking and eating while on an animal. If there already exists these things, could someone help me refine my search so I can find them? Thanks. ps To answer a question here, after the fact, I'm playing Skyrim.
