Can I add another request for the mod? Would it be possible to add an extra spell that checks the npc if they are essential, protected or normal (killable by all)?
Maybe you could incorporate that into the main spell, but I doin't know if that would work. Just asking, don't bother if it is too much work. I'm already satisfied with what you are doing. Also I'm using Empowered Magic as my main magic mod, but I guess it won't conflict.

That would be awesome! Could make for a bit of roleplaying.. running around town while a dragon attacks and protect-flagging several people that didn't hide in their houses. I just don't like to use the console after a dragon/vampire attack or when some random animals killed villagers while I was not around. And checking after every dragonfight who died can be a bit troublesome.

Hello everyone.
I would really like to see a mod that gives the player a spell or power with which they can flag any NPC to protected status, so that only the player can kill them, but not dragons, vampires or other creatures/enemies. The other mods that set protected status mostly flag all important npcs or all npcs in general, but that's not what I want. I would like to decide who gets the protection.

I found the reason/solution to the vanishing ropes. It's a vanilla feature that you can't change with ini settings.
The mod Static Mesh Improvement (SMIM) has custom ropes that do not fade.
Anyway.. I'm going to try that out now *testing*

Edit:tested, it works but at the cost of performance. The new ropes are 3D.

cant see anything in there that may cause this... your distances in LOD are greater than mine... that could might as well cause it (too high value resetting itself to something low or I dunno)..

I took the distance values from the step guide. These were suggested to decrease Z-Fighting (flickering lod's in the distance on mountains). But I just noticed these 2 values
Which values are you refering to, as lod? the blockdrawdistance right?

Hello everyone, I'm having a weird issue.
I noticed when I walk around in Riverwood that certain textures slowly fade in when I get closer to certain objects.

Please watch the left wooden pillar of the building, there are some ropes that slowly become visible as the camera moves forward.
Now my question is: How can I increase the distance at which these textures start to fade in?
Which line in the skyrim.ini or skyrimprefs.ini would I have to edit?
Most of my skyrim settings are already at max distance, even the lod settings (including the z-fighting settings from the step guide)
I even tried upping the decal view distance but that also did not help, since these textures that are fading in don't seem to be decals.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello folks, this is my first post (not counting comments on mods) in this forum and I have a question.
Maybe you can help me out on this one.
I want to use the englisch version of Skyrim but with the books being displayed in german language. I already know how to do it with the voices but I could not locate the books so far.
Does anyone know where the book's data is located so that I can extract it and put it into an english bsa file or something...?

Yes, in taverns. Go find that bandit leader and kill him. My savegames are about 11mb in size, no crashes so far.

is there a way to avoid getting patched this way, exept for not going online ?
FYI you can go in steam (even in offline mode I believe) and tell it not to update skyrim if you right click on the game in your library and go to preferences (or was it properties) whatever was at the bottom.
Set it to "Do not automatically update this game" and youll be fine.
That's not going to work. Everytime you start skyrim it automatically sets your "do not upgrade status" to "keep it updated".

I'm glad I have steam on offline mode since patch 1.2 screwed up everything. Playing it on 1.1 now, much better and more compatible with all the fine mods here on nexus.

So.. I watched a little bit of your video and here's what I think.
You're fighting an Elder Dragon there, one of the if not the toughest dragon out of all. You don't want to get hit by him, so hide behind stuff and use followers or summons to actually distract him. I play this game on master and find most of the dragons are not that hard as you make it look like. And regarding other enemies, why do you die to Skeevers? If you are wearing light armor you have to expect getting your ass handed when you go melee. As a light armor type character you should go ranged and magic, melee only for sneak attacks.
I actually installed a harder difficulty mod cause the game is just too easy in some instances.

I play this game on master with the rule not to use the enchant/smithing exploit trick. Just do not craft anything that gives a bonus to alchemy, enchanting, smithing and you will still face a challenge in higher levels.
You can use a mod like "Empowered magicka" or "improved destruction magic" to balance magic to a level that is comparable to epic weapons.

I see an ice spike when i visit an area through fast travel... and it does not disappear. Does anyone else have this issue or knows how to remove it?

Val'S Crafting meltdown Alpha causes the "I don't see any text in my menu anymore" problem.

The sexchange command only solves the problem until you switch from 1st person to 3rd person, then it reappears. I have to try out that werewolf solution next time I have that bug.

Use sexchange 2x in console to temporarely fix the problem. It always appears for me when I use invisibility.

I had a similiar problem. My characters eyes were pitch black and the eyes of all other characters were simply missing. I fiddled around with the meshes, textures and interface folders then, removed them entirely. Everything was fine then. I placed the 3 folders back into the data folder and still everything was ok again. Weird glitch....

I had that bug too, it's not entirely related to the Aura Whisper Shout, since my character doesn't have that shout yet. I couldn't solve it however, had to load an old save and now I make sure to create regular saves to prevent too much gametime loss.

I am experiencing this bug too, glowing dots underneath my characters eyes and I don't have the Aura Whisper Shout yet. So it can't be connected to that.
My solution for now is/was: I resorted to an old save which was like 3 hours back in time. The bug had not occurred back there. It seems it is connected with a character and its saves once it appears. So manually save often (like every time you go into a new dungeon or exit the game).
