  1. I can help you with one already. IF there is already a vertibird activator as you said, then the activator it's self should already have a script attached. Use that. The others, i've only experimented a bit with NPCs because my Geck tends to crash when I make NPCs, so i really can't help with those.
  2. I'm going to go out on a limb and assume it's NOT hardware related. The only thing that can diagnose this now is your load order because this type of problem has someone messing around with geck written all over it. What you can try (if your load order is not massive) is uninstall all non-plugin based mods, and and re-install them one by one. Or, just take off each mod, see if the problem is fixed, if not, re-install and move to the next one.
  3. Hello! I've been working on Particles and AddOn nodes, and as a first project, i decided a torch would be a rather simple way to start. Apparently, I was wrong. I added the AddOn14 and AddOn35 nodes to my model of a torch, and when in game, the fire and smoke that is supposed to go on the Torch, also is on my character's head. I have no clue why. Any help would be apreciated. Here's a video of what the problem is.
  4. I believe you can find them here, although a mod may have put them here. Data\Textures\Weapons\scope
  5. Unfortunately, in my experience most modders won't add controller support because it would require a lot of unnecessary work, when the user can just use a keyboard instead.
  6. Honestly, if you have the time, just editing some of the leveled lists might make it a bit less ridiculous. I have notices this aswell, but unfortunately, there isn't much to do about it unless you plan to slave away for months editing EVERY different spawn percentage of every raider, fiend, and NCR soldier in the game. Another think you could try is finding a mod that adds a penalty for death, although this won't stop weapons from spawning, just make it so that you aren't always over equipped. Also, you might find mods that reduce your carry weight helpful, as it would stop you from picking up all the crap you don't need.
  7. Hello! As some of you may know, I make models every now and then, and share them on the nexus as images, and sometimes mods. Currently, while I wait to build a new computer, i am incapapble of doing any texturing, and it is making modding somewhat difficult. As a result, i've been just working on implementing some of the things i already have textured, and one of those things is a backpack. (look here to see it) Now onto the question: How exactly would i go about making the Nifskope model, for lack of a better word, "Work". I understand that there is some extra steps involved that normally i wouldn't have to take with weapons. Also, from what i understand, i need to rig this backpack. How do i do this, and if it is deemed to complicated, would anyone be willing to help me? It is a model i very much want to release, as i have interest in using it, and judging by the amount of endorsements and positive feedback, it would seem that some of the other users would also be interested in such a backpack. Please tell me if there is something you don't understand, and please tell me if you need any more information. Here is the picture that can be found in the hyperlink above, minus the description i've added for it, and minus any comments people have made. http://static-3.nexusmods.com/15/images/130/3009681-1389840506.png
  8. Thank you for all you help. Here it is again, updated once more. This is the pc parts picker write up. On new egg, it's 1,091$ with a keyboard. CPU: Intel Core i5-4670 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($219.99 @ Newegg) - Got rid of the "K". I wasn't planning on overclocking, so it's all for the best anyway.Motherboard: ASRock Z87 Extreme6 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($158.49 @ Newegg) - I was told to stick with this one by someone else.Memory: G.Skill Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($84.99 @ Newegg) Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($59.99 @ Newegg) -Thanks for the help, saved 20$ and doubled the space.Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 770 2GB Video Card ($330.98 @ Newegg) - I realised after what i was told the 4GB version was not necessary. I also went with the cheaper, ASUS version.Case: Corsair 200R ATX Mid Tower Case ($49.99 @ Newegg) Power Supply: Corsair Enthusiast 650W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($99.98 @ Newegg) Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit) ($99.99 @ Newegg) Total: $1104.40
  9. Because this SSD doesn't really reduce costs, the only way to reduce the cost with an SSD is to replace the hard drive with a 32-64GB SSD, and what good is that? @Odioss Unless you're using multiple monitors (like 2 or 3) you'd be fine with just 2GB VRAM, 4GB is only really useful when running a dual/triple-head setup. If you don't want to overclock, get an H87 motherboard with a 4+2 power phase and i5-4670, that would save some money as well. You can also go with a WD Blue drive, you won't see a very noticeable difference in drive speed and you'll end up paying less in regards to $/GB. Black is only useful if you really want to spend nearly 50% more to get a 5-10% gain. Black is also good if you intend to record gameplay, but then I advise you to get the Black for OS and games while recording videos to a second hard drive or you may face stuttering cause a single HDD needs to perform both write and read operations from two different locations at the same time. RAM, just like VRAM, can also go lower. There's no need for 16GB other than if you do professional video/audio/3D work or run multiple virtual machines, 8 GB should be perfect for gaming. Another note is that most games won't see a noticable difference when using faster RAM (2-3 frames at best), large difference can only be seen in synthetic benchmarks, when using on-board Inel graphics, and if using memory-hungry software (like 3D programs, video/audio encoding, virtual machines, etc). So getting a tad slower RAM would still show pretty much the same results. G.Skill usually has decent RAM for not much money, their Ripjaws series are pretty good and relatively cheap. Case, any case is good as long as it has good airflow, and unless you use SLI or overclock, even cheaper cases are good. If you do overclock, I wouldn't advise skimping on the case, but I would advise you to reconsider your choice of case, that thing seems a bit overpriced to me and has nearly identical features/airflow to a $60 CoolerMaster HAF 912. PSU is something you shouldn't skimp on though. if you're buying a new PSU as well, make sure it's of good quality even if it costs a bit more. I generally recommend the XFX Core Edition or SeaSonic PSU, Corsair CX are not that great but AX are pretty decent. I do use 3d modeling programs, but i've been fine on my old computer with 6gb, so 8 should be fine as well. I think i'll keep the 4670k, because i personally, a 20$ markup is probably worth it if i decide i want to overclock in the future. I've taken into consideration your points. This should be my new build as of now: CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($239.99 @ Newegg) CPU Cooler: Corsair H55 57.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($57.00) Motherboard: ASRock Z87 Extreme6 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($158.49 @ Newegg) Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($70.00) Storage: Western Digital Caviar Black 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($74.99 @ Newegg) Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 770 2GB Video Card ($360.91 @ Newegg) Case: Cooler Master HAF 912 ATX Mid Tower Case ($59.99 @ Mwave) Power Supply: Corsair Enthusiast 650W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($84.99 @ NCIX US) Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit) ($99.99 @ Newegg) Total: $1206.35
  10. Lol, accidentally copied the wrong one :P I actually wanted 8 gb, that explains why this seemed strangely more expensive, and No SSD because they cost far to much, and i'm already past my budget as it is :( The VRAM on the 770 doesn't cost alot, as 2 extra gb is only 20$, but i see your point... i might go to 2gb.. I read an article that said that in today's world, 1 gb is already pretty good for current games.
  11. Hello everyone! Recently, my current computer has been, for the lack of a better word, broken. As a result, I've started working on the idea for a new build. I'm looking for some help, as this would be my first build, and as a result, probably could be better. Please, anything that you notice would be helpfull. Here it is: CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($239.99 @ Newegg) Motherboard: ASRock Z87 Extreme6 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($158.49 @ Newegg) Memory: Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($144.99 @ Newegg) Storage: Western Digital Caviar Black 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($74.99 @ Newegg) Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 770 4GB Video Card ($419.99 @ Newegg) Case: Xion XON-980-BK (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case ($89.99 @ Newegg) Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit) ($99.99 @ Newegg) Total: $1228.43 I'm expecially interested in anything that might reduce the cost of the build, and if the 4GB is necessary, i'm only planning on using 1 monitor.
  12. What you can try, is to use the grayscale of the diffuse as the alpha for the normal map. Works fine, and fixes the glossy look.
  13. I recently started to use it, as i like the feel of having to survive. that's why i have been making mods that contribute to that feeling.
  14. Just out of curiosity, can anyone see this thread? Because apparently it has "0" views and I've viewed it several times.
  15. As the tittle would suggest, i'm having trouble texturing as usual (it seems i can't make a model that is EASY to texture) This model that i have made is, in my opinion, worthy of a decent texturing job, and not my usual garbage textures. As such, I have two options as of now, and people could help me with either option OPTION # 1 If anyone has some free time, and would like to make a texture for the weapon. I am willing to credit whoever is nice enough to do so with 50% of the work (maybe more, it depends on how well it comes out) I normally don't ask for people to do my work for me, it's just that i really enjoy the model that i made, and hopefully whoever is willing to undertake this will enjoy it too. OPTION # 2 If anyone has some secrets to making a REALISTIC gun texture, using blender and GIMP, It would be very helpful... currently my technique is absolutely terrible, as i simply bake a ambient occlusion texture, then add overlays of various scratches (as evident by one of my mods, The Makeshift Airgun mod that i created this technique is hit or miss, works well on cylindrical objects but anything else looks gross) My UV mapping skills also aren't great, and sadly, i have been resorting to blenders built in Smart unwrap (it unwraps everything without distortion, but is not very easy to follow) While normally i would prefer this to be a learning experience, i also realize that others would likely give my model a far superior texture than i ever could, so in this case i would prefer option # 1, but option # 2 works just as well. As evident by my previous posts on the forum, Texturing is basically the problem i have been having with every one of my creations to date, and is sadly the reason why i don't release that many mods. (I was working on a KRISS Vector, A SCI-FY-esque pistol, A New silenced 22 pistol, Now i'm working on a imaginary gun (in the sense i used my imagination for the basis for it, while using parts of guns that i saw on the internet for inspiration for parts on the gun) Any help would be appreciated, and any additional information will gladly be given.
