  1. Draw a lobster with a top hat, cane, and suit going fishing in the arctic
  2. My dream mod would be: Skyrim has plenty of nice AI interactions available.. but nearly none from the outside world TO the character at non-quest points. It would add realism and be pretty awesome for there to be things such as.. people run up to you and talk to you about some of the things they have heard that you did, or question you, or insult you, or hunt you down where ever you are if you are with a faction they spite, etc.
  3. this would add a lot of interesting stuff to the game. The cooldown-reductions and thu'um skill tree (for both humanoid form and dragon-form i suppose) would be awesome.
  4. I agree with Vagrant0. A great example of this is a game called Starcraft. Ease of learning? There are professionals that I have spoken to personally that have practiced this single game for years and still admit that they don't know absolutely every thing about it, which would be one of the best examples for that in gaming. They still continue to play and learn, despite the ease of learning being that difficult.
  5. Because humans aren't very interesting
  6. To marharth, who said i "just bumped six old topics" i don't really think that's accurate. I didn't just say.. "bump dis ole stuff up". I tried to contribute some thing to the discussion. They were actually quite recent on the debate pages, also.. they just aren't "todays news" because apparently people don't use the debate forums much here. Haha.
  7. With the 7 string heavy metal guitars, and 6 string heavy metal bass guitars? No, i'm joking.. but the game does need some more songs available for some extra immersion at the very least. Can you unlock more, or there only two that the bards perform?
  8. Yeah, it's pretty dumb and pretentious to think that sparing kids in the role-playing of a ruthless character makes it acceptable, while the mention of taking them out is absolutely horrible! Saying things like that are comparisons to reality, not role playing. If you want to compare it to reality, sparing the kids is still probably even worse, because if you're role-playing a ruthless character and you've ransacked their home and their whole family is dead.. now you've just set them up for an awesome life ahead of them. Thanks for ruining every thing, but then letting me stay. Haha.
  9. That would be useful, especially if you've already finished the main quests on a character and you want to set some funny conditions for the world. There are way too many invincible npc's.
  10. Haha, it does seem kind of comical to join the imperials right before they chop your head off with basically no justification. That means they aren't perfect.. but hey.. neither of them are. I joined the imperials just because Ulfrid Stormcloak acts too greedy, like he doesn't care about the people much, just about his influence. I've never studied the game-lore so i don't know for certain, but from a playing perspective that seems like the case.
  11. Yeah, but there are a ton of zombie apocalypse games. Having some thing like this would be a lot more interesting.
  12. I'm only going to refer to the first question posed, to prevent disarray.. "How deeply does our awareness extend?" By awareness, you can refer to either sensory, or knowledge. What can we sense, is extremely limited, and derived in the requirements of mostly what we must be able to sense to navigate in this world we grow in. The spongy membranes of our nose altogether contain about 5 million olfactory receptor neurons, while most dogs contain around ~220 million. Human eyes contain about 200,000/mm2 photoreceptors, while the buzzard contains about a million/mm2. Our senses aren't absolutely terrible, via comparison to most creatures, but they are extremely limited. We can only see a portion of electromagnetic spectrum, also. All of this information is translated into our minds for "conscious encoding" and integration. This is the part in which we would call "knowledge". At least, physical knowledge. There is obviously some knowledge that is not sensory related, or sensory-recognition related. Our.. knowledge.. of knowledge itself is what we call epistemology. We have some fairly astouding potential abilities to discern information about a concept, and we aren't quite sure of our limits there yet.
  13. I know a fair amount about genetics, so i'll offer a scientifical, non-political perspective on the article. I can commend the attempts of pusuing some notable evidence of interactions between innate biology and phenotypical traits, but a more intricate approach is needed to provide solid evidence. This protein-transcription/dual-receptor gene is not unique enough to substantiate into a behavioral phenotype so easily. One reason for this is the gigantic species diversity of which it is present. If this sole gene can code for "liberalism" for us.. it can also code for liberalism in, say, a mouse.. or a pheasant. Also note that they refer to a variant of this gene. Other research shows that there are multiple polymorphants of this gene, some of which have shown to have no behavioral alteration; others of which have been noted to increase likelihood of problems such as hyperactivity/schizophrenia (but by no means conclude)
  14. Meh.. They have way too many "funding influences" to be trusted as if they have only the health of the people in mind. (Racopamine and Aspartame? Really?)
  15. America having education problems? neh neh neh we're the best nation in the world blah blah blah I'm joking. I can vouch for this pretty well! I went to a few schools. One of the better public schools in my city: the teachers were afraid to tell the students to be quiet in fear of being struck. The students mostly took their pants off in class and did dances, while yelling rap music. Mention science, and they will cackle like hyenas.
  16. AI.. is created. Has been for quite a while. What we truly mean is.. advanced AI, and sentient AI. If such properties were met, there's no reason not to grant them "equal rights" (whatever that means, because there are still a lot of humans on this planet with violated "rights") To not do so would just be a pretend-superiority bias, given that they are sentient.
  17. I haven't read every post, and some one has probably mentioned it before. But if you haven't, and you're wondering about this topic, check out the drake equation. http://www.activemind.com/Mysterious/Topics/seti/drake_equation.html The only problem is.. these "estimates" are not well developed. We don't have the technology to study all the biological life-forms in every star-system, so it makes it quite difficult to determine exact figures for all this.
  18. Pizza is a vegetable? Haha. Then bananas are a mineral, because some times you drop bananas and get dirt on them, which is mostly minerals.
  19. This would be hilarious. Integrate some runescape textures. And some weird looking, clunky, 2 position attack animations. Lol.
  20. Perhaps a little too "glossy" to coincide with skryims regular art-style? but otherwise looks fine
  21. This thread could be very helpful for those creating mods. Did we have threads like this for oblivion?
  22. TFC is the toggle free flying camera console. You can see further out and not just 0 on the z axis with this. I'm not certain about all of that, but as far as i know, it will require some editing to be able to integrate the animations and playability of the races. The console mostly lets you appear to be that race.
  23. If bethesda are talentless freaks, no reason to have a house in one of their games. And what do you mean by storage and common sense? The current houses are nothing 'astounding' (if a house can be astounding..) but they do have quite a few objects in them, decent arrangements, and storage chests.
  24. This is not completely dragon-related, but speaking of AI concerning dragon interaction: it is quite annoying when you're fighting a giant dragon in the city with some guards, and after an extended bout of pummeling, you accidentally shoot one little spell that hits a guard because he got in the way of you and the dragon.. then once the dragons dead.. the guard tries to kill you. Come on man.. I just saved your life. Lol.
