Hey Franz! Funny you should ask...we're letting people vote on what they'd want to see next. http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/680634-siring-vampire-or-faction-quests/ Asuke, I can't say for sure. Which mod are you wondering about in question?
-
Those are up next! But I think you'll find that, looking over the mod release, it's much more than buffs.
-
Ahhhhhh, singlequotes, that's what it was. Stupid BBcode not being the same as in forums...can't even indent.Oh well.

Thanks for the suggestions! As for my take on them: -We'd have to make a bat model, which is...challenging, as there is no real analog already in skyrim and frankly, I'm bamboozled with anything but 3dxMax -We thought of that, and discussed it at length, but in the end, we decided that wolves are the domain of another...creature of the night. Other animal transformations are planned. -You know, someone contacted me about having their coffins in BSR a few weeks ago..I should follow up on that.. -Our plans for clans (rhyming!) are very, very extensive. At least, my notes are, a bit of which I've shared with MM -Bottled blood is...a sticky subject. We don't want to make them just potions, because then it becomes mechanically the same as any other vanilla Skyrim player. Still, things to consider. -Also discussed, but in the end, we decided that vampires aren't canibals or corpse-eaters. To us, that dilutes the power of blood for our BSR vampires, and animals would get complicated fast as far as balancing the feed and fact that they don't attack. As I recall, I said something along the lines of "animals would become mobile treasure chests that you need to beat the health out of". That said, the feral thing is kinda incorporated with the starvation system. -Vampire bounty hunters are actually implemented, and they are quite dangerous indeed. Other rules are more organically incorporated; such as the trespassing rule. Regardless of my thoughts that time, don't let it stop you! Or anyone. Suggestions are always appreciated!

Just about! Sent gold file to MM; should be uploaded as soon as he gets the email.

Should be very soon! Sorry guys, both MM and I have been incredibly busy this week. That said, here's where we stand: -major balancing and tweaks from the beta input have been done -one very minor nitpick of mine concerning a spell needs to be cleared up -release doc is being written up Actually, it's mostly on me for a once over to make sure it all in good order, and to crank out that doc. Should be -and don't quote me on this, in case something for some reason goes incredibly wrong but- it's looking like it'll be out by this weekend.

the currency system needs a revamp... here's how
Jakisthe replied to jakdaryper's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Ah, made up economies...so much to be done with them! If I was going to do it, I'd take it right from my super-stealable-ideas topic...let's see... -
...No, technically, it is illegal, as per 17USC§506(a)(3), which says that spreading commercially distributed work (ie, assets/coding) to the public via a computer network is criminal infringement. This is in a separate paragraph from the monetary gains bit. Now, whether it's a felony or only a misdemeanor is left up to the circumstances, but..yeah...illegal. Is there really nothing that you can tell us about the actual gameplay? Surely you could make some small tweaks to not use copywritten stuff!

What're the differences between the teleportation spells?
-
Yep! Very possible. You could feed on them while sleeping (especially with the new and workingimproved spell to make them sleep), or to finish them off in combat. We're really trying to get this to be as balanced as possible across all playstyles.
-
Hey Asuke! Welcome to the thread! In response to your suggestions: -We are working on tweaking the power of the weapons and their relationship to the companion engine. -Light and it's subsequent control remains a bit of a difficult subject for modders in general; nevertheless, MM has made some very promising headway :D
-
Did someone day...VAMPIRE MOD!? We'll be releasing shortly.
-
I'm still not entirely certain (and don't take this as an insult >.<) I've gotten across the...scope of what you're planning. Everything in WoW is several times bigger (the world map, for instance, is ~6 times larger and has considerably less procedural foliage filling). And yes, you were right, I did mean Azeroth, lol. Oops! Still, I'd love to play the end result, whenever that is, and I do admire your enthusiasm, so good luck!

If they add Crossbow in skyrim will it be easier to make gun mods?
Jakisthe replied to jazneo's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Depends on how creative they want to get; I can see a rack gear set up over a wheelock rifle to work quite nicely :P -
I see progress has been made on the DG and DS gift? Btw, MM, you were right; I do keep confusing Dark Sacrifice and Dark Gift. DG=the health circulation idea I outlined, and DS=sacrificing followers, right? I think that's it...what, btw, is the mechanic on DS? Do you get health back based on percentage, or a straight linear numerical transfer? At any rate, people will be pleased to know that there are more ways than ever to gain health now, so the vampire should be considerably more powerful :) Sorry I've been missing this thread everyone; I've been sick this past weekend and am [shockingly!] busy with school. Not AS busy, but...well, suffice to say, I have a midterm tomorrow :P

...Sorry to rain on your parade, TC, but this is absolutely impossible. To create Tamriel in the Skyrim engine would require such an obscenely powerful computer and so much time spent...heck, I'd wager it might even take in the order of a decade or so, if you didn't instantly run into issues with LoD and independent cells. The other stuff, like quests, items and dungeons, while not actually impossible (just close) would require such a ridiculous amount of time as to be impractical. New assets/areas need to be made for every area/item, and a quick search shows that there are nearly 10k quests in WoW...compared to about ~250 in vanilla Skyrim (not including radiant stuff). Creating a single city and any self contained quests might be possible, but that's a big might. The actual World of Warcraft? Not going to happen

Isn't there already a crossbow animation file from the wrist mounted...crossbow of one of those dwarven things? -
CnD is from using their characters/settings/plotlines without their permission, and is indeed copyright infringement. CnDs come from CI; they're not two separate legal areas. As the guy above me pointed out, most reasonable companies will ignore you if only use their characters/settings/plotlines but make your own assets to represent them. If you're actually importing assets (models, animations, voice files, textures, source code, anything), then it has the potential to be much, MUCH more serious. The reason I'm making the distinction is to say that you really won't have any trouble if you using Skyrim assets, and if that's the case, you should go for it :).

Apocalypse - The definitive spell package
Jakisthe replied to EnaiSiaion's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Heh..yeah, I was really reaching for quite a bit of them. Still, always good to hear critiques, even if I [obviously] am only making background noise in comparison to your actual mod  -
Not necessarily, since using their assets could (and does) count as distribution of copyrighted code of some pre-existing party, which is what anti-piracy laws seek to protect. Off the top of my head, this is what happened with Sony a few years back when a hacker freely distributed their source code, for instance. Plus, if the aforementioned assets are used at all, regardless of potential legal loopholes, Nexus will absolutely not host it. Like I said though, you can use their plotlines/characters/story and only get a CnD (I think?) at absolute worst, which is easily avoidable and frankly pretty over the top for a company to push through. But if it actually uses data from some digital TOR file...yeah, sorry  As far as details go, surely you have something! Plans for gameplay changes, story changes, questlines, all that fancy stuff. That's what gets people on board.
-
The best [and likely only?] way to get people on board is to have an extremely detailed mod plan before you start recruiting - there is a lot more to making a mod of this type of scale than it would seem. You say there are details, and while I don't doubt you personally, it may not inspire people to follow you and give up their time for something. Plus, if REE has a problem with it, it's because: -it's in their universe but uses Skyrim resources, which means they can get mad all they want but they can't do anything or -it uses resources directly pulled from a WoT source, in which case they can do something and the Nexus will delete this thread and not host the project. So, and I'm really not trying to be mean, but the best way is to give very indepth details and convince people that it doesn't infringe on copyright. Good luck!

Well, I didn't want it to be TOO powerful; for players that don't care about satiation, it would mean they could heal 100% whenever they wanted. Plus, if a player is starving, that takes away any detriment at all, and they can again go for that 100%. The way I saw it, people normally had regen spells at their disposal during a fight, but they were never something you wanted to use constantly, because then you wouldn't be hurting the enemy. Similarly, between fights, it was really trivial to get back to full health - as long as you survived a fight, you were set. So I wanted to make spells which were organically useful for either during fights or after. DG, while able to be used during a fight, would be a definite tactical thing, as it would instantly hurt you quite a bit depending on level. Course, this hurt would get refunded, albeit over time, making it's use in a fight a rather risky proposition. Plus, it's universal across all levels and types of vampires, whereas I think a satiation cost would be overly painful to sires (as they get to starved quickest and are the ones with the most need for healing powers) and hp is an immediate resource that every player, no matter their playstyle, cares about intrinsically. As for combat, I assumed that most vampires would be getting splattered with blood while fighting, hence the increased combat regen (also to counter balance the fact that DG is a much safter out of combat choice). Not only that, it allows the player to focus on dealing damage, as vampires tend to do, but also offered the above tactical superheal  ...That said, MM tells me such a spell is quite complicated, hence why he suggested the alternative . Which I do think is a step in the right direction! Buuuuut....a bit of an unbalanced one.

Apocalypse - The definitive spell package
Jakisthe replied to EnaiSiaion's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Awesome! I'm always wary of spell mods, as they tend to be very keen on "now you can do flames but LOOK IT'S LIKE ELECTRIC AND FIRE" type things. Since this has gotten me all excited, I'll go and post the list of things I had in your other topic again to see which ones are just impossible  -
As I planned it there, it instantly takes that % from your current (not maximum) health pool, with each level of vampirism taking more. Then, over the next 10 seconds, you get X times that much health back. Say, for instance, that you're a fledgling with 100 health out of 100 (for simplicity >.<). Use DG, and you lose 5(5%*100)hp. Then, over the next 10 seconds, you get 10hp back, at a rate of 1 per second. Then, you level up, and you've gotten more maximum health via normal leveling. But you're hurt down to only 100 hp out of 500! What do you do? DG takes 66(66%*100) hp, leaving you with only a scant 34 left. However, then the good bit kicks in, and you gain 264(66%*100*4)hp over the next 10 seconds, at a rate of 26.4 per second. If this seems too powerful, I am considering the potential of adding a non-refunded magica component.

BETA IS DONE! Thank you for everyone who responded and participated! We were right; you guys could find stuff that us two couldn't :whistling: Changelog has been passed on and work on fixes is underway. Some things you might be happy to hear: -Trespassing and related damage is being reworked! -Companion issues to be looked at! -Vampire Kiss will...hopefully work! -No more endless feeding! And more! Please PM me if you have a specific question regarding the beta. For now though, one of the more common complaints was a lack of a means to heal beyond feeding and hearts. Still no regen, but what do you guys think of these combined idea: -Dark Gift: Sacrifice 5/10/25/50/66% of your remaining health to heal you for 2x/2x/3x/3x/4x the amount sacrificed over the next 10 seconds. -Bloodlust: Combat regen is 2x what it normally is outside of combat. Hmm?
