Upon opening Skyrim, a black box opens up for half a second, then closes with no error message. My laptop is brand new; since I got it, I only updated drivers and installed Skyrim. The game worked on my old laptop, which is half the specs as this one. GeForce GT 755M Intel® Core i7-4700MQ CPU @ 2.40GHz 8,00GB RAM WIndows 8.1 I tried the following: >reinstalling >optimizing settings before launch >right clicking steam and skyrim and running as admin >no mods installed, clean vanilla >verifying game cache integrity on steam >running a registry cleaner >checking my load order by following instructions >changing language to english I would really appreciate any help I can get! I have spent too many hours trying to figure this out. and I don't know if this other problem is related? Every time I try to open NVIDIA Control Panel, it freezes/closes and tells me it stopped working.
