I wouldn't say that, we may be able to fix the issue ourselves when they release the mod tools, seeing as the issue is with the game itself. No offense guys, but try to keep this thread on topic. ITT Skyrim is making our video card drivers / video card shut down. Not a simple crash to desktop. It's very different and a lot more serious. There are other threads related to your issues.

I don't get black screen crash, mine just crashes to desktop. I'm doing everything suggested online but it's still crashing. I've changed my sound and codex settings but it's become unplayable and not fun at all. Every minute it seems to be crashing. Really frustrating. :( It is frustrating but the problem we are experiencing is _hardware failure_ caused by this particular game. It's a lot more serious !!

Well that sucks. I hope Bethesda can acknowledge the issue and fix it asap. I've been watching this thread and it grew very fast. Hopefully that means we arent a such a small minority having this issue...

Doubtful since it seems to simply be killing the graphics driver. The monitor _stops_ receiving signal, whereas when a compouter is in sleep mode the monitor is sent the sleep signal. But at this point I'm willing to try anything for this gaem :(

^^ Will try on low, but I have very little faith it'll work... This game was so amazing, I was hooked, then bam. As soon as I completed the Golden Claw quest it started messing up.

Same. Tried clean installing Windows, drivers, audio fixes, low settings.... no dice. Core i5 2500k Radeon 6950 (lots of people with Radeons 6950s here I see...) 4 gb ram Enough storage space to store the web's porno library in redudency Windows Home Premium 64 bits. It's not hardware as this PC has no issue running Battlefield 3 maxed out for 2-3 hour sessions at a time.
