  1. I got fed up of their glum faces and back-chat so cheered them all up with a song I learned recently - "fus-roh-dah". They seemed to like it as they all got up and danced around the room ;)
  2. I'm from England and I see no point in it at all... Moralities aside, apart from adding some sort of titterlation for those young enough to have not seen a naked woman before, what possible purpose does it serve in this game!?
  3. Boobs are the least of their problems considering they walk upright on two legs and can talk. Kermit and Ms Piggy have a lot to answer for...
  4. It's one of the most bugged quests there is I'm afraid, but the prerequisites and tips to getting it started (if it does start at all) are : * You need to enter Windhelm four times before the quest initialises. * Checking out the graveyard after 2am in the morning could prove useful. * Doing the Dark Brotherhood quest line will mean you'll only get half way with it (one of the people you might bump off in that is needed in this quest line). This quest has never started for me, even after created a new character. See here (spoliers a plenty) : http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/481935-windhelm-murder-quest/ Good luck!
  5. I'm with you - it may look bad-ass to many but for me it looks daft and it lowers the tone of the game a little. The same goes for all the huge battleaxes and swords that are over sized to look 'cool'. All this silliness subtracts from what is a great game.
  6. The only thing that scares me in game is the thought of being caught in a goat enclosure at night, but this might not be related to what you were discussing...
  7. You made an account to say that? Thats right. I made the account over 5 years ago, and I would have posted sooner.... but I took an arrow to the knee. Lol - have a silver star for a good come back. The saying's so sad and pathetic like me I put it in my sig...
  8. I just clicked on him while he was asleep in his bed and got an ID of 0001B11D, so that might be worth a try.
  9. How about entering the console, then click on his face to get his ID and then entering "disable" ?
  10. You needed to ask for it to be cleaned up prior to buying any 'enhancements' for it. It'll still look a bit of a mess but it's certainly better than if you don't. Just reload a save - hopefully just before you added anything to it and ask for it to be cleaned, then you can add to it as you like.
  11. Consider the overall rage on the comment section on the votes, and the fact so many is posting here - including you, I'd say many does. Wether people preffered Game 1 or game 2 is irrelevant, people care. As I write this there are 8 users watching this topic. Now that is more than most "Mod request" and "Mod Talk" forum have. Matth... It may appear to you that some of us in this thread care about the result on that site, but please believe me when I say that I (and I'm sure many others) don't. My only reason for posting my disdain was because people actually went to some two-bit games site, all concerned that this game might loose to some rescue the princes kids game (rated 12) and that this should actually be worthy of a serious discussion at all! Well, as I'm caring sort of guy, to help those that might still be having nightmares over the result (or afraid of the monster that's lives under their bed), Metacritic, who compile review ratings from over 50 gaming sites have Zelda rated at 7.7 and the pc version of Skyrim on 8.3 and the x-box version 8.6. 12. +1 Seriously, who gives a flying fig about this sort of childish poop. Grow up and get over it.
  13. I strip off most nights and chase goats but even I'm a little concerned about about your question! Seriously - not a clue. Checking here might supply an answer though : http://www.skyrimnexus.com/
  14. I took an instant dislike to Silus after I first arrived there. The resulting mess would have required a large and dedicated cleaning team to sort out... Thanks a lot!
  15. To alter the stats on someone I get up close and personal and then enter the console. I then mouse click on them (which brings up their ID code incidentally) and then I then add or take away some of their abilities via commands. This way might be worth a try.
  16. To even know about a PDP-8 denotes a certain generation and level of nerdiness to me. Welcome to the thread! ;)
  17. 46 years young here and started my gaming on a Dec PDP-11 in 1981. The memory of playing "Adventure" (Colossal Cave) on an £80,000 pound mini computer (back then) still brings a wry smile to my face. Like the OP and the other 'previous gen' peeps here (did I just see an IBM 360 mentioned!), I too can happily skip any and all temptation to make things easier in this game. PS. If there's one thing I've adhered to during these past 30 years of gaming, it's to turn off any automatic updates to them if humanly possible. It's scarily funny how often the reason for doing so has a habit of repeating itself it would seem...
  18. If you've done the Dark Brotherhood guest line then you may have a problem with the "Blood on the Ice" quest later on, should it start that is. But to hopefully get things started (unless you're bugged to hell like me), you need to enter Windhelm four times prior to 245 days elapsing it seems. See "Possible cause for the quest not triggering" here : http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim_talk:Blood_on_the_Ice#Possible_cause_for_the_quest_not_triggering My tail of woe here regarding this quest : http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/481935-windhelm-murder-quest/page__view__findpost__p__3946871
  19. Seriously, the UI is an abomination!! It's clunky in the extreme, "consoley", time consuming to navigate, not exactly logical and in short for me a complete pain in the proverbial. Add to this the bugged and none working quests and the repetitiveness of some of the ones that do work and you might be thinking I was about to run this game down lol... On the flip side there's simply too many good, nay great things about it for the above to make me throw it away this early on. I'm confident that the vast majority of the major bugs will be sorted out soon (it's only been out a week!) and that the modders will have their wicked way with it shortly too. Personally speaking here, as is the way with many new releases these days, we are the beta testers and simply have to put up with the foibles and bugs until they're sorted out.
  20. I've put many hours into the game and have tried numerous ways to get this quest to kick-start. Sadly it's all been a complete waste of time and effort for me... Firstly, it's a shame the search function here is completely lacking otherwise you could have put in "blood on the ice" and helped yourself. About the best you can do is to put in "Blood" in the advanced search and wade through everything. Secondly and more to the point, if you've started the Dark Brotherhood quest line there's a one in three chance that you've killed a person who's required in this quest. If so you might like to load an earlier save - one where you're sure you haven't had contact with the Dark Brotherhood yet. Doing this doesn't guarantee that the quest will work for you mind as it's bugged to hell. SPOILERS FOLLOW!!! Even after creating a new character (four times) this quest never started for me. The best I could do was to use a few console commands to complete the quest which enabled me to buy the house. However, even though I asked for the house to be cleaned up prior to purchasing anything for it, it still looked a complete mess in there... * "InvestigationTarget" options everywhere (they were always there for me in every game in this house) but nothing happens when pressing "E" on any of them. * An old bed inside the newly purchased one and the same thing with the table downstairs and other item overlaps. * Cobwebs everywhere * An empty room upstairs * Lighting glitches upstairs and the secret room is unlit. I could have used a command or two to get rid of some of the offending old items but quite frankly I've had my fill of this quest as I know everything and all about it now, in trying to get it working. I'm now out exploring the wilds as the whole episode pissed me off in the extreme. I really enjoy detective work and being a sleuth too
