  1. So I loaded Falskaar in and was immediately reminded it has yellow leaves for the vast majority of its tree LODs. This clashes with the green-leaved trees I have that moved in from Skyrim. I had this issue in the Rift a while back, and all I had to do was load the treelod file into GIMP, change the leaves to green, and viola. Those were loose files, though, and Falskaar uses a .bsa. While I can easily extract, edit, and repack the .bsa with my recolored LOD file, I'm finding something is going wrong. The game loads and runs just fine, but there appears to be a drastically reduced draw distance. Like, I can see the 'horizon' within the area of fully rendered trees and such. Using tfc will reveal the game is only loading a very small portion of Falskaar... just because I recolored tree LODs and repacked the .bsa? O.o So... what am I missing? Or is there a way to make Falskaar use loose files?
  2. Hmmmm I don't really have a single least favorite, but it's going to be any one of the citizens who just say something stupid and intrusive as I walk by like what's-his-name in Whiterun... "Have you ever been to the cloud district?" Me: "What in Talos's name is the-" "What am I saying? Of course you haven't." And of course, Belethor's single employee, Sigurd... "Don't mean to be rude but I'm too busy to talk right now." Me, who was talking to Ysolda: "Um, excuse you. Girls are trying to talk here. Helllooooo."
  3. I'm not exactly their biggest fan, but power metal band Blind Guardian has a song that I keep imagining hearing in Skyrim's taverns, The Bard's Song. I can also picture them doing covers of Skyrim's tavern songs, although Jeff Winner over at YouTube seems to do a good enough job as it is. Anyone else imagine, or actually listen to epic power metal while adventuring? I've seen mods that bring it into the game, but I mostly just background Spotify or something.
  4. WHERE... is my treasure?!
  5. There IS a toileting technique known as the 'courtesy flush' these guys should learn to perform...
  6. I hate low memory mode, but what aggravates me the most is when Win7 is like "Low Video Ram, want to switch off Aero?" and I hit the button that says "No and NEVER display this message again!" I've hit that button a bazillion times... >.<
  7. You've got that right... Also remember two key points in my situation that I was told "we don't have time for that" when I requested monthly performance notifications and also I had no performance issues at all anyway. All of my customers were always happy, I always took initiative and was always punctual. I also had seniority. So if they didn't have time to even tell me "you're doing great" or "you suck" then I am especially baffled that they had the time to file against my gaining unemployment. Just being a jerk and trying to put a knife in me. Well obviously everything is their problem now, as I am working for a competing business and all of my customers have followed me here. :P But I really didn't mean for this turn into a pity pot fest for Kanori...
  8. !!PLEASE NO POLITICS OR RELIGION!! So what gets on your nerves the most? Like, that one thing that can happen or happens a lot and when it does, you just wish you could destroy the world. For me it's people pretending to like me or appreciate I do. I was recently fired from my wonderful job for no reason without any warnings whatsoever, and when I attempted to apply for unemployment I was declined because "I failed to perform my expected duties with multiple warnings". Well I worked in customer service and not a single one of my customers ever complained about me and in fact, many of them have stopped going to that place and have followed me to where I work now. I asked my boss for the very reasonable accomodation of letting me know if I doing a good job at the end of every month. I was told "we don't have time for that". Drawing unemployment doesn't matter now that I have a new job already, but it's just that jerk told me I was just being laid off because they couldn't afford to pay me and then I get record that I wasn't doing my job? Per what documentation was I NOT doing my job well enough?! And how many of my customers were displeased with my service? None! Long story short, boss was great at first. Slowly became annoyed with me asking simple questions, even though I was making them money. Then they fire me under the ruse of a company layoff. That was just... mean... So when people seem to like me and tell me I'm a wonderful asset or great employee, and then turn around and screw me like that, it's probably the most aggravating things that I face in life.
  9. Oh my goodness the quotes are outta control here :P Okay, so again I won't quote anyone, I'll just reply to the ones I read that got my interest. Yes, I find it very strange indeed to behold one of super-cute girls taking down a group of bandits, raiders, dragons, deathclaws, etc. I always come up with silly commentary to further humiliate the situation. "And thus the bandits were slain by the petite blonde Ashlyn whom they underestimated" Aesthetics is extremely important to me, as I am an artist and visionaire and anything has to look right for me to like it. Such as, I don't care how fast the Bugatti Veyron is... it's still ugly to me :P SO of course my Skyrim is modded and tweaked to suit my taste in visuals. Pretty summer environment, high res textures everywhere, and beautiful, BEAUTIFUL girls :) I like men, too... if definitely makes more sense that the legendary Dragonborne would resemble the dude in the trailer. But... I don't like men that are... hulking... like.... huge the way Skyrim makes them. Believe it or else, I prefer the more average male. Hey, I don't like to be smothered, okay :P So if there is a mod or a way to make the guys in Skyrim smaller and less muscular, someone please let me know! (AVA as a player?)
  10. Hi all! So I started a new game with a mage character and found this awesome druid outfit that suits my aesthetic needs: http://tes5stuff.blogspot.com/2015/08/unfinished-conversions-druid-from.html Well... mostly... My only problem with this outfit it the little 4-point leaf that hangs over the chest. It just annoys me. Don't ask why. So I figured out how to use BSAopt to unpack the textures so I can knock the texture for that one part out, but I can't figure out how to remake the BSA file. I've tried using Archive.exe and thought I successfully generated a BSA, but when I loaded the game, the textures were not there. All purple. So... in lamens terms... how does one go about putting back together a BSA with your modified files (just one in this case)? Either with BSAopt or Archive.exe. D
  11. Also, the Skyrim memory patch by Sheson (google it) and SSME from here on Nexus appears to have fixed my crashing issues. Before, my game would crash on load like 8/10 times. And I'd have random CTD several times in one sitting. After using these two mods I can report that my game has only crashed on load once so far, and I haven't had a single random CTD yet.
  12. I won't quote everyone, but I enjoy the responses :P Especially the ones that practically say it's a bit lore-breaking that a cute and slim girl is the almighty Dragonborne. When I'm playing as Ashlyn and she takes out a group of bandits, I always have the urge to narrate and say "Hey guys... look... a hot girl. Let's mug her." What can I say, I've developed her as a soldier girl. Bandits are so dumb they never take their target's capabilities into consideration :P I'm a girl who plays as a girl. It's just difficult for me to fail because I don't want to see one of my girls go down.
  13. I haven't flown in about 6 months, pursuing my light sport license.
  14. I stay my cute butt away from IRL debates for a reason. Live and let live, I always say. So what gender is your PC(s) and why? For myself, it is female. I enjoy playing a female character because I am attracted to the female figure. CBBE and HDT certainly makes playing Skyrim without getting excited a very difficult task. Until I find out how to make a slim and fit, pretty male character, I can't stand the males in Skyrim. They are just so large. Yes I know the Dragonborne is supposed to be a mighty warrior, but I've just never enjoyed looking at men who are shaped like a wedge. I hate to see a girl slain (unless she's trying to KILL ME that is), so playing as a female gives me a crazy amount of motivation to do my best so I never have to see her fall. Lastly... sexy screenshot ops. I'm terrible I know.
  15. Ah, yes I had Adrianne die as well. I didn't know until I went inside Warmaiden's and what's-his-name told me he had to order material from the Khajit caravans since her death. I was like "Whoa WHAT!?" and turned around to see Adrianne lying in the floor. So she apparently died INSIDE Warmaiden's.... but I used resurrect and she popped up, immediately spewing the "Have you met my father...?" dialogue. Then ol dude told me that SHE makes all the weapons and armor. Funny. I actually did not expect that.... As much as I hate to say it... if I can't fix Braith's little orphan issue... I.... I'll adopt her... (god what is wrong with me?")
  16. So I came into Whiterun, expecting to see my 'favorite' lil Redguard girl. But when I walked up to her, instead of giving me the usual "What are YOU lookin' at?!" she looked rather... sad... and only moaned to me... I asked her what was wrong and she told me her parents were dead. Now, this was just after a vampire attack on the city. The citizens killed them all before I could get close. So Amren and what's her name survived... Amren was standing nearby when I found Braith, and the mother was in their home. So... console command to make her realize she ISN'T orphaned or anything?
  17. I am so....SO stupid. :P While I still can't explain what happened to set off this unfortunate chain of events, I did find what I was doing wrong... apparently the files for my skeleton that I had stored away was the incorrect one. I was supposed to be using XPMSE. Apparently I never stored that one and I was trying to use an earlier, incorrect version of Maximum Skeleton. So my body is back to normal now. Yay! Now let's see if I can do anything about the increase in frequency of CTDs...
  18. Well this has been the longest-lasting experience I've ever had until something broke and completely ruined everything for me. I'm not looking for help, so I didn't post this in troubleshooting. All I want to do is rant. Here is my problem... modded Skyrim just screws up on its own. Yes, I know this is to be expected. But so quickly after running reliably with no problems for months before? I WAS using XP32, CBBE, and Joy of Perspective with absolutely no problems. During the reinstallation of Skyrim and all my mods for, oh, the 5th time, I followed each mod's instructions to the letter and everything was wonderful. I have never had such a wonderful gaming experience.... until... it breaks... I didn't say "I decided to screw with critical files and use all kinds of weird load order and incompatible mods" I said... "It breaks" like.... IN-GAME just BREAKS. I'm making my way through a dungeon and find a draugr. Excellent oppurtunity for a sneak attack... so I draw my bow... aim carefully... and put the draugr down in one clean shot. Oh yes. Find another draugr... aim... and... what's this? SUDDENLY THE BOW WON'T ANGLE WITH THE CAMERA? I can look up and down but not through the bow unless I'm looking straight ahead on a level plane. Again, I didn't leave the game and mess things up myself. I learned my lesson during my first attempts at modding. This happened in-game, in real time. SO what do I do? I search for logical solutions. None. I reinstall XP32. No fix. I reinstall JoP AND XP32. There! FIxed it! But... now when I look down... my breasts... they distort and crush and UGHGGHH!! And I used the same exact mod files and install order and everything! I went through a slew of possible fixes. FINALLY found that JoP and XP32 seem to have conflicting instructions on how to install to one another. Well that's their problem, because I figure it out on my own. So I fixed that. Now I can look down, see my endowments. They seem fine.... but... NOW I CAN SEE DOWN THE CENTER OF MY HOLLOW BODY?! Change FOV. Fixed. ...now my butt goes flat when I walk. "Oh that's easy to fix. I've had this issue before." I tell myself. "All I have to do is re-install XP32 because the skeleton file was overwritten by something else." Wrong. Re-install XP32. No effect. Annnnnnnnnnnd my mammaries are all messed up again. So let's recollect.. I'm playing my beautifully modded, well-working game... and it just breaks... all this months after my MCM just stopped working and I know there is no solution for that problem. These events have made it quite scary to try to play the game, vanilla or modded, if it's just going to break itself and then every solution I have, and have done BEFORE suddenly will not work. And before you throw the "noob" flag at me, I am not new to this... have been modding Skyrim since modding Skyrim was possible. I understanding which ones are compatible and which ones are not. Load order, patches, yes I know about all of that stuff. But my game just breaks itself and now I'll most likely have to reinstall and then reinstall all of these awesome mods and play a little while until something beyond my control just comes along and sweeps it away from me. Can't a girl get a break?
  19. So my MCM stopped working quite some time ago. Woe is me  I posted about it and everyone seemed to know the cause but no solution was offered. I understand mod authors have to be the ones to correct faulty scripts that get stuck, but that doesn't seem like it will be happening anytime soon. SO... since I can't even open MCM without it getting stuck, is there a way to configure mods outside of the game? An .INI or something?
  20. I've used a few myself. Just search for 'archmage retexture' and there will be plenty of nice results. I use this one for my hoodless robes: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/10238/?
  21. Bears aren't too difficult once you have some awesome armour and weaponry. My problem with them is that they seem to have an enormous sneak skill and they're always getting me from behind. (That couldn't have sounded worse...)
