So I made some adjustments to a couple of my characters using RaceMenu. Particularly the Body Scales section to adjust their proportions. After making these adjustments, my characters' hands are scaling to gigantic proportions after they perform certain animations. Right now the only two animations that seem to affect this is book reading ( from Animations: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/51554 ) and eating or drinking ( from RND ). I can quickly fix it by reloading the character's preset, but it's becoming a bit tedious. I had this issue with one of my characters about a year ago, but it seemed to fix itself, or maybe I fixed it but wasn't aware what I did to fix it. Any ideas?

Something that aggravates me (that may just be happening to me) is how SkyUI seems to go to a random entry in the inventory, magic, or favorites menus whenever you pull them up. It's especially annoying when trying to set all of your equipment favorites. 1) Is it possible to have the menu selector return to the last item you used when you last closed the menu? This would be very nice for mods such as Better Spell Learning. 2) Is it also possible to keep the favorites menu from removing weapons and armor from favorites 'slots' when you upgrade them, or when they downgrade due to wear and tear mods. Seriously, when you've got like 10 weapons and you upgrade them all during a single sitting at the grindstone, it can be quite annoying to have to put them all back into your 'weapons' slot in the favorites, especially when the menu keeps jumping to what seems to be a random location after every slot assignment O.o

I'm slow to update things, so I just recently got the latest enb binary. I just noticed earlier today that the startup message no longer reports available texture memory like it used to. Would this mean something is wrong with my setup or does the latest enb forego that information? I set out to make sure everything else was up to date, but still haven't seen that message.

So I installed Pure Skin and absolutely love it... with the exception of the normal map. I'm not fond of the belly area. I'm a competent enough digital artist that I can edit the normal to my liking but.... I run into problems afterwards... I use GIMP, and in the past I've simply selected 'Overwrite filename.dds' to save it. I found out this was wrong as it does not compress the image, leading to 'blackouts' in game. Now I know to use DXT5 compression when saving the image. No blackouts after that, but... the normal gains unsightly artifacts... ugh I've read and read and read about texture compression, but haven't found any information for what I'm doing, which is altering existing textures for my own personal liking. Help? :happy:

So I've been trying to make a haste/hyper potion that will increase movement and attack speed for a short duration. So far it works as expected, but I noticed I can just keep using the potion, adding the magnitude of its effect over and over until my character is blazing across Skyrim like a bullet, lol I've ticked the 'No Recast' flag in the creation kit, which is explained on the website: "Once the magic effect is applied to a target, it cannot be cast again on the same target until it has worn off or been dispelled." However, I am still able to use the potion as many times as I want. Is this a creation kit bug or am I missing something?

I'm nearing 3000... just wondering if I wasn't the only one. This is time accumulated with multiple installs, mulitple characters and playthroughs, mod setups, etc. Though I couldn't tell you how many of these hours were spent actually 'playing' the game lol :D

I'm just so overwhelmed with joy that it is hard for me to keep it inside. I feel like I have to tell someone... even the thousands of fellow modders on Nexus... I... I have met the love of my life. :wub: She literally just walked into my life a couple of months ago. She came as a customer to where I work, and we talked, ended up exchanging contacts. Next thing I know she's coming over to my home and we're spending so many hours together, playing games, drawing together and assembling puzzles. And then it hurts to have to wait an entire week to see each other again. This girl accepts me for everything thing I am... every quirk, every time I miss a word in a sentence... and I accept her for everything she is. I honestly thought it was impossible for someone to ever be 'right' for me. I have been hit on in the past, and I've rejected a few that have tried to woo me, but I only did so because it did not feel right. My patience has finally payed off, and now I have the perfect mate to spend my life with. I know it's only been two months and we are probably moving too fast, but we threw everything we had at one another right from the start. I confessed to trying to make her leave because I just couldn't accept the reality that someone would actually enjoy me so much, but she was still standing, still holding her arms open for me I felt all of my defenses drop and I surrendered my heart to her. I feel like all of my potential has been unlocked. There isn't anything that I can't do right now. I hope this wasn't too much for the community. I hope others will share their stories of what makes them happy. We all need a break from the doom and gloom don't we? :D

Hi, I used GIMP. All I really did was desaturate them a little, and did not change any other attributes such as compression, etc of the .dds. I have done a lot of retexturing and editing of textures in my game. Just really curious as to why the 'blackout bug' seems the affect only these two texture sets... Hmmm..

So I get these odd blackening of certain textures every now and then. The textures in question are the Fair Skin Complexion textures for my characters and the textures for nordic ruins. I have edited both. I only began seeing the blackening of the nordic ruins textures after I edited them. I used BSAopt to extract the textures, edited them, then set them up as loose files. But like I said in the title, they are only occasionally black. However, if I move the camera close to the surface, the textures will be revealed, as well as some distinctive triangular lines. I believe I missed a step when editing these textures... and yes I have plenty of VRAM. I have used ordinator to drastically reduce the memory load of the textures. Included a pic show how the closer the texture is to the camera, the more it is revealed. Edit: Sometimes my character's face or their entire body goes black when I pull up racemenu, or pick up a book in game.

If you are an owner of one, then you probably know why I started this thread, lol Yes its about that abhorrent hunk of metal known as the PowerShift transmission and all its woes. If you are not an owner, surely you've heard. If you haven't just do a google search for 'ford po-' and it will fill out the rest. You will see. I'm a car person. I understand the things better than most mechanics. Why don't I be a mechanic? Because I hate trying to get any of these new fangled failures of rolling tech shows to cooperate with me. The majority of issues experienced today are software issues. And I'm supposed to trust the advent of autonomous vehicles when we still can't get an autonomous standard transmission to act properly. I once knew everything about every car on the road. Seriously. Then I took up aviation. Had to learn a lot of new things and put my library of car knowledge aside. During that hiatus I missed out on DCT transmissions hitting the market. Simply put, they are manual-shift transmissions that operate their clutches and shifting mechanisms on their own. A computer handles the servos and actuators that move the clutch release and shift levers. See... I've never owned (or hardly driven) a car with an automatic transmission... until NOW. The Ford Focus hooked me somehow. I traded in my '02 Sentra SE-R which I loved the heck out of, but she was getting old.. and tired... I reasoned I should just buy a new car. And like a true 'murican moron I bought the Focus... ... I feel like the car gods are punishing me for trying an automatic... List your problems/known issues if you don't have one. Here are just a few of mine: 1) Take off? What's that? Oh when you press the accelerator and go? Nah takes up to 3 seconds, depending on how much you give it. More power means more delay. 2) Stalling. OMG the stalling 3) Inappropriate shift scheduling. Shifting into 6th while trying to ease up a hill behind grandma at <30mph 4) Which also means stalling 5) Loss of 'pull' during 3rd and 4th gears with constant accelerator input. upon reaching 5th gear, tangible acceleration is regained. 6) Driving at 65mph. Release accelerator. RPM falls to... WTF seriously 300RPM?! Also headlamps die due to insufficient alternator RPM. Hit accelerator. 2 whole seconds later, hard jerk, engine brought to redline.

Okay I have achieved the impossible and have recovered the save simply by trying to load it until it finally succeeded. My character was a bit messed up, and there were a few bugs, but everything appears to be well and functional otherwise. I reloaded a recent RaceMenu preset of the character, made a new save, cleaned said save, and went from there. So far the only real bugs I noticed were... What's-his-name and the blacksmith lady in Whiterun were facing off as if having their initial conversation when you first enter Whiterun. All favorites were removed in SkyUI. Had to redo them. Wasn't able to finish the companion job quest I was on (corrected with console command) I am extremely proud that I was able to recover that save, especially after not a single person even bothered to step up with advice, and every last piece of information I found claimed it would be futile to try to recover it and all hope was lost. If I had followed that information I would have given up. But that's not something I do. ;)

I... I don't even know where to start... I was playing this evening after a hard day at work. I was about mid way through a decent play through with my favorite character, Ashlyn. I had just conversed with Parthuurnax and spent the night with the greybeards. Upon attempting to sleep on a bed in High Hrothgar, the game seemed to lock up. After about a minute of waiting, I decided it had gotten stuck trying to sleep. I ctrl+alt+del and killed the TESV.exe process and reloaded. This went well. I went back to the bed, but decided to save before sleeping. The save... took forever... about 2 minutes. Then I tried to sleep. It got stuck again, but this time I waited... and waited... and waited... and finally it entered sleep and passed through the night. Got up, went to leave High Hrothgar, and it took over 2 minutes again to go outside. Knowing something must be up with the save file, I decided to exit the game and check on it. Well... even exiting the game took an obnoxious amount of time. I pulled up Ashlyn's one and only non-autosave file in Save File SCript Cleaner, and to my surprise, it was blank. The only thing it pulled out of the save was the screenshot. Upon doing anything the program 'stopped working'. I tried loading the auto-saves. Same story... Scared, I opened the game and tried to load Ashlyn's save. "The save file is corrupt and cannot be loaded" My heart sank. I tried loading Autosave 1 "The save file is corrupt and cannot be loaded" I tried loading Autosave 2 "The save file is corrupt and cannot be loaded" Autosave 3 "The save file is corrupt and cannot be loaded" :sad: Loaded an earlier file of my assassin character, Suki. It loaded just fine. Tried loading Ashlyn one more time, just because I'm stuck in denial like that "The save file is corrupt and cannot be loaded" W-why, SKyrim.... why? Why so sudden? Why when every thing is so stable and reliable? Oh, 'cause I modded the game... Where did I mess up? By modding the game? By calling task manager and killing the process? Wh-what's going to happen with my other characters? I can start over with Ashlyn but still have to worry about this random nonsense happening to me again? Am I suppose to accumulate hundreds of save files so I can try to fall back on one? WHY DID THIS HAPPEN TO ALL 3 AUTOSAVES, AND MY MANUAL SAVE ALL AT ONCE?! ALSO WHAT HAPPEND TO THE .SKSE FILE IN SAVE?

Darnit. My fresh reinstall was going so well until I got to the outside world (using Alternate Start) and noticed my grass acting all weird. I'm using Unique Flowers and Plants and Verdant, as I always have, and everything is set up exactly as it was in my last install. It's difficult for me to explain, so I've provided a tiny video clip of the issue. Essentially the grass textures (or maybe even meshes) are switching out depending on what angle they are being viewed. Oh god I HATE going grocery shopping. I've been thinking of using this service for a while. Really, when I go, it's just to get like a week's supply because I just can't stand being in there any longer. I've never used the pickup service before. So what's happened? Did the online prices suddenly go up? Did I read correct that they were once lower than in-store but are now equal?
