The new 3ds max plugin can extract models from skyrim. But I haven't got 3ds max and can therefore not benefit from this. So I ask if someone who has 3ds max and knows how to extract models from the game and convert them into obj format could send a specific model to me. I need a long clothed armor, like a imperial armor or stormcloak armor that goes down to the knees. I need to use one of these armors as reference for the new armor maybe armors I'm going to make. As soon as I get a armor to work from I'll start making armors. As soon as I'm finished with my personal armor I could take requests. All I need is a armor to work from, can anyone who has 3ds max extract one for me and export it into obj format?

Ok I downloaded the exe, am I missing something or is this a 3ds plugin?? How am I support to simply export a obj?

Umm I haven't got 3ds max. Anyone here who would be able to extract a armor and share it please? I just need something to work after when I'm making my own armors. A long clothed armor would be best, so I can see how the polies are placed so it deforms well ingame. Someone please :)

Something I hate in this game is the world map. When you can fast travel you stop paying attention to the game itself and just try to finish the quests as fast as possible. I completed the entire stormcloak quest line in 2 hours using a horse and fast travel. It takes the fun out of the game in my opinion. So I suggest a nomad mod, one could maybe call it a realism mod to certain extent. This mod would make you feel like you aren't controlling a puppet, but that you actually are a real surviving man in the harsh north. This mod would modify/add to the game: Companions will sit behind you on your horse not run after you like a dog. It will be possible to buy a tent that you can rise anywhere in the wild, this will be used for cooking and sleeping. Waiting in the wild should not be safe, just like in Fallout 3 where enemies can spawn when you wake up. You need food and water every 24 hour in order to survive. Without food you will first be slowed and after awhile die. You should not be allowed to carry as much as you right now can, it's just not realistic walking around with 20 heavy armors. Your horse should be carrying your stuff. Fast travel should not be possible. Sword hits etc should be realistic, one hit to your head from a farmer with a sword could be lethal except if you haven't got a helmet. Two bandits on the road you can't just run up to one needs to be cautious and ambush them like real life. It will be possible to fish in the rivers. Wearing heavy armor makes it possible for you to take mutliple hits and it protects well from arrows. But you won't be able to run like you can with light armor. Sprint should last longer if you wear light armor. Magic should be harder to cast but be much more powerful. Similar to Gandalf in the lord of the rings, just in the most dangerous of situations. This would be the nomad mod, very realistic traveling and fighting. With this one can't finish a quest in minutes but actually it could take days just to get to the quest location. And bears and tigers in the wild will be much stronger and in most situations one will have to run except if you got some poison arrows or something. Basically uber realistic mod with ability to setup camps and fish. So what do you think good idea or what?

A mod means modifying something that is already there. Adding something like a character selection screen is very hard I imagine ant not really worth it to be honest.

What? The difference between tomte and dwarf in scandinavian mythology is very small. Englishmen call them dwarves we call them tomtar or nissar. This is a real norse dwarf... Norse Dwarf

Would it be possible for you to extract and convert a armor into obj format with this program? Because I'm going to make an armor from scratch but need something to follow...

What the...? Just because there are nords, doesn't mean there can't be magic. If the game was supposed to be based on nordic mytology, there would hardly be any dark elves running around, not to mention khajit. And some structures in the vanilla seem more Mayan than nordic. And as for making it happen? Probably possible, might make the game lag a bit. Its basically just a vagon or horse with stuff in it. ...Norse mythology has magic. And castles. And dark elves. Seriously, people, at least friggin' read the Edda before you try to sound like an authority on Nordic concepts. Ummm no, there are no castles in the same way there are castles in skyriim. There are smaller keeps perhaps. The vikings had longhouses and more like something you see from the lord of the rings. That Edoras house no medeival castles like you think. Also magic in the norse mythology only existed in the form of curses. There were no fireballs and shouts or whatever, and certainly not moving castles. The gods had magic but that wasn't fireballs either. But curses and magical items and invicibility. You don't know what you are talking about buddy. EDIT: I'm from sweden, please point me towards a viking castle you dumbo.

A big moving castle like a house would not be easy to put into the game. There would be tons of problem with something that big moving around. Collision problems etc etc...also it would be against the lore. There can be magic dumbo. But magic like living castles that can walk around is just distasteful in my opinion. Skyrim is set in a nordic world and therefore in my opinion shouldn't be polluted with moving castles and...ridiculous mods. A tent would be better, a tent I bet would be more popular as well.

I think something that would fit better in with the "lore" would be a tent. Make it possible for the player to rise a small tent and make a fire where he could cook the moose meat he catched. Now that would be nice, a tent he would be able to move around and place anywhere he want to in the wild. I have btw seen that movie, it's not bad. But it's so far from the nordic mythology it's scary. Vikings never really had big castles, and magic in the form of magical castles did not exist either. Magic existed in the form of curses. Anyway I say change the castle into a tent and it would be cool mod.

I would like a mod where my wife/companion can sit behind me on the horse.

The north isn't manga land, this ain't pokemon buddy. EDIT: Also it would be more than hard, maybe it would be possible to move the house around, but not actually see it moving...but really what is the point?

Ahh I work in blender too, it's really the fastest modeling program in my opinion. Well maybe there are some 3DS max users out there that could help us? Anyone who uses 3DS max that could extract some armors for us. :D EDIT: Funny when I search on armor extract/export/import skyrim, the first result is this thread. :D

And would be interested in creating a male nord light armor. All the modelling and texturing normal spec maps etc I know all about already. But I know nothing about modding, or I know how it works but I don't have anything to work with. In order to make this armor I need: 1. Armor model from the game to follow (As a guide) 2. Some kind of guide on how to convert my armor into the right format and place it in the game (Or maybe someone could help me with this. Anyone who has a guide or maybe would like to help me? Believe me I know how to make models, and this shouldn't take longer than a few hours to create. For you who are interested I want to create something that is similar to Thorgal's armor from the comic book series "Thorgal". http://comicbookjesus.files.wordpress.com/2011/02/thorgal-et-valnor.jpghttp://images.arcadja.com/rosinski_grzegorz-thorgal~300~10051_20100605_1770_549.jpg
