I've been using Ordinator and a few combat mods in my SE install to make the game stronger, however it feels like a lot of the weapons and armor are really undertuned as a result. My Oldrim install used Perkus which did something that edited armor values, boosting them a bit to both mesh better with the increased challenge of the mod and rebalanced some armor/weapons that were almost always too weak to use by the time you found them even without said difficulty increase. I was wondering if there was any such overhaul for SE that only altered the stats on gear without additional mechanics changes.

The forums login function appears to be busted on Firefox. Every time I clicked sign in it took me to a page that said I was already logged in, even though the forum was saying I was not signed in. I had to switch over to Chrome to actually log in successfully.

I forgot how truly awful the vanilla animations were, having played a heavily modded Oldrim for so long. I've got a couple replacers already, pretty combat animations, less muscular walk. Still these are stop gaps at best, even with LMW my female character still lumbers around and the magic combat stance looks like it's giving my character a hunchback. So what are you all using? Are there any options not yet on the SE nexus that work well?

There are a couple very old mods that remove or lessen the horrid vampire eye/face changes, but I was wondering if any specific mod/combination of mods was recommended as the best/safest method. I half expected Better Vampires to even have this as a feature by now but apparently not, any thoughts? I vaguely remember there being a way to prevent all changes by replacing the vampire appearance files with your standard characters appearance files or some such, but it was quite literally a couple years ago and I don't at all remember the specifics of that trick.

Things to consider: 1. The values given for modded items generally track with vanilla stats as that's what most games and mod setups balance around as a baseline. You also have to account for increases in values when you factor in perk choices and tempering options via the Smithing skill. If you're using something like a mod overhaul such as Skyre or Perkus these will generally have patchers that come with the mod download that are supposed to change all values to be in-line with what a particular mod setup expects so everything works together in a balanced way. 2. If all you want to do is manually change armor/weapon values it's easiest to open up a mod in TES5Edit and change them to whatever you like there - weapon damage, armor values, weights, etc. Can also of course be done in the Creation Kit, but xEdit is probably faster. There are numerous guides and tutorials in both written and video form all over the net so do some reading and watching if you've never attempted to do this before. 3. Frostfall support for warmth and coverage values when it comes to modded items is spotty at best right now in the current release. Chesko is overhauling the system for the 3.1 release that is getting nearer to release so you'll just have to be patient until then. Appreciate the info, I had no doubt there must be guides out there but knowing TES5Edit is the best route gives me the perfect place to start hunting. Thanks a ton. I figured the Frost Fall stats might be buggered a bit, I don't mind waiting on the next edition.

There are a great many armors and weapon mods out there that are fairly high quality and I have many installed in my game, however all to often I find that the stats on weapon and armor mods render them practically worthless. heavy armor gauntlets that give 18 armor value, light chest pieces that give 35 armor, swords that hit for 14, these things might be ok in a vanilla play through on easy but I use many difficulty mods (perkus) and frostfall, thus I never really get to use these things. Is there any relatively simple way to edit the armor/damage and warmth/coverage values of individual armor/weapon mods? This is probably a laughably basic question, but I have zero experience actually modding anything in Skyrim despite years of using mods made by others.

Hopefully a mod like this exists: I'm looking for a mod that removes the "bone creaking" sound of skeletons, or at least lowers the volume on it. I'm playing a necro with skyre and the creaking is driving me nuts. Any help would be tremendously appreciated.

Every time I start a new character I say "Hey lets do something different this time and do the Werewolf thing". And then I turn into a Vampire. It's not that I neccisarily prefer vampires over werewolves, the idea of playing a werewolf is attractive in some ways. But at the end of the day werewolves just don't seem nearly as interesting from a gameplay perspective even in vanlla. While both Vamps and Wolves in the basic skyrim are pretty awful, Vamps just have more to them (even without counting Dawnguard) where as wolves get the same disease immunity and a transformation power that is both limited duration and frankly not worth using. There's a couple really in depth mods for Vamps that add all manner of interesting touches to the playing experience for them (currently loving Belua, shame it seems it's been abandoned though), I'm wondering if anyone could suggest mods that do the same for Werewolves. I know there are some that add things like forced transformations based on moon cycle, but are there any that actually make the Werewolf experience more than a limited duration power that just gets you killed easier? I guess part of the problem might just be in the lore of the two creatures (real world lore), the vampire mythos touches everything from feeding on blood, to commanding undead, to magic use to sexuality, all of which can be incorporated easily into various interesting game play mechanics. Werewolves are really just effectively a beast race little different from a Khajiit but with the ability to look human sometimes. most of the interesting things about their real world mythos doesn't apply well to gameplay mechanics I suppose, at least without a more extensive RP system.

Is anyone aware of mods that add more taxidermy trophies to the Hearthfire abodes (or player house mods of the same ilk, such as build your own home), namely the ability to mount and display playable races? I know theres one that addes race-appropriate skulls to corpses, but I'm looking for something more.

Well it's not necessarily modular, but Grimoire - spell package is standalone, as far as I know very compatible, and fantastic. That does indeed look fun, thanks for the suggestion. On a side note, anyone know if there's a mod that makes bolt quivers invisible? they drive me nuts since sneaking makes them hover like a foot in the air off my back. (i tried a mod to adjust their position, but it doesn't work well with my body it seems).

I'm looking for some stand alone/modluar magic mods that focus on improving Necromancy/Conjuring. Something that improves the survivability and usefulness of minions and perhaps the variety, but isn't a massive compatibility buster like skyre. Anyone happen to have any they would suggest for such a purpose?

Realistically full blooded horses should be very expensive and relatively rare. Most people would travel on ponies, donkies or pigmy horses since riding on a full sized horse not only wore out a valuable animal but was also very tiring and even painful to the rider. The smaller animals offered a smoother ride due to their smaller gate that was more conducive to long distance travel.

Interesting idea, but yeah not exactly what im looking for. I don't mind feminine shaped armor (though i hate 'boob socks') or even mildly seductive armor, it's fantasy after all, I'm just tired of the plate bikinis that expose the entire abdominal or armor so skin tight you might think it was a custom latex catsuit rather than thick leather or metal plate. I was hoping to find some standalone armor mods that add new sets that don't look like fetish wear, but don't neccisarily have to be "true to life". Things like Blood Witch or Dread Hunter are for the light armor catagory.

I've been trying to find standalones that add high quality heavy armor for female characters (preferably compatible with cbbe slim) that isn't fetish wear or a plate bikini. I found one steel full plate set (can't remember the name) , but there must be other armor mods out there that actually *look* like real armor, with full coverage and a little heft/bulk to them. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm already using immersive armors.
