Could someone please tell me why the Media section images are bigger than that of the Mods section? Hell's bells, even the images from Search are bigger than the regular Mods section! It's driving me absolutely buggy. Browsing over new mods has become a colossal strain. The core of the text is even cut off! Edit: Views from a computer, on the Firefox browser:

Clearly there's some very questionable priorities at play here. Between this and the corpospeak... If they're dreaming to become a big social hub, they need to start a different website.

I can't quite tell if that's sarcasm or not, but I'll let it slide. It IS a disaster when you've been carefully re-organizing two different mod pages for multiple hours, make everything public, only to have both changelogs vanish into oblivion, and then have people doubting that you ever made changelogs to begin with. I don't wish it on anyone.
-
Ah, the cool and collected nature of someone who has been spared similar trials and tribulations. Count yourself lucky, Qrsr! I for one am forever scarred by the sudden disappearing act of my changelogs at such a critical impasse. Enclosed is an accurate depiction of my reaction to said event:
-
The whole site has been acting up. Listed as opted-out, in actuality opted-in. Carefully ordered changelogs blipping out of existence—only to randomly resurface over an hour later, edited text on mod files either instantly appearing (good) or ending up delayed (bad). Am I the only one who had an extremely stressful time while trying to tend to their mods last evening and this morning? I will start sounding like a broken record if I bring up the further havoc caused by the colour contrast issues again, so I won't, but it NEVER took me as long as it did this time to navigate the site and cater to the needs of mod updates in the past.

The title says it all. The closest thing I've found are a couple of new Lily meshes for Fallout: New Vegas seen here and here. However, (1) they're for a Nightkin, not a mutated human, and (2) the talented creator doesn't seem to have ever released them, so even experimentation is off the table. If you happen across anything, I'd appreciate it if you'd leave a comment.

Warning: The following personal opinions have been rated "B" for being Brutally honest. - - - - - - - I can tell you that the NPC reaction factor is severely lacking in comparison to Skyrim. Have you seen footage of Starfield? Where NPCs barely react to chaos? Fallout 4 is the precursor to that sort of behavior. Skyrim actually includes fully voiced responses for situations that can never even arise. Like the children voice types being able to comment on their own spouse's demise—or even that of their own children or grandchildren! Fallout 4? Well, to be perfectly blunt, hardly anyone reacts if you construe to give their relatives a shorter lifespan. Keeping to the kid-theme, they can't die in Fallout 4 without mods, and it's the same thing in Skyrim. But if somehow they do, Skyrim families will react accordingly and verbally. Fallout 4? Nothing. There's a girl in Bunker Hill and her mother is the acting doctor (even though she's actually an animal vet). Should her daughter drop dead right in front of her, this woman has no reaction whatsoever. And neither does the other woman who (according to the game guide) is in a relationship with the mother, and should therefore be very upset about the fate of the young girl they're raising together—and yet, nothing. I use this example because it left a profound impact on me by showing just how much Bethesda stopped planning ahead (a trait I had always admired them for). But yeah, if an NPC in the proper family faction or ally faction dies, you will probably be attacked if you caused it and it's witnessed, but don't expect them to care about whomever they lost in the aftermath. - - - - - - - NPCs in general: In Skyrim, I pretty much know the name, history and occupation of every person in each hold. For me personally, Fallout 4 is not good at fostering those sorts of connections. At one point, I was defending myself from Super Mutants. We ended up by a local farm whose residents I had helped (and seemingly befriended). They fought alongside me until a grenade blast grazed one of their number, and then they all turned on me. Lowering my weapons did not help, and I was forced to put them down along with the Super Mutants. Had this been in Skyrim, I would have reloaded a save no matter how far back, but not in Fallout 4. Once you have met one NPC, you have essentially met them all. - - - - - - - Followers/Companions? They have more dialogue and are more thought-out than Skyrim's default ensemble, but I personally find them bland and repetitive. I ended up making additional combat lines for the ones I could be bothered to occasionally have around, and the rest I ignore and bring in characters from other games in their stead. It's pretty sad that one character from Fallout 3 has more dialogue in the areas of combat and detection alone than most of the Fallout 4 companions have put together, but hey... Bethesda had other priorities. Like that awful new dialogue system. - - - - - - - The Dialogue: Hate it with a passion. If you get Fallout 4, you be sure to grab mods to extend the lines so you actually know what your character is saying. And if you don't like the idea of your character having a voice foisted on them, get your game to the the pre-"next gen" version and get this F4SE plugin for a blissfully silent experience. - - - - - - - The main story? You were either (if male) a soldier, or (if female) an attorney. You are married and have a kid name Shaun. If that sort of forced character building doesn't turn you off from the get-go, you may have better luck with the main story. I could not even get through it (mod-free) once. (That's never happened to me before.) If it does bother you, get yourself an alternative start mod. You might have to use your imagination to get over some of the more stubborn bits of the story (mostly due to that awful, horrible, cursed dialogue system), but just pretend everyone is insanely dumb and you'll be fine. - - - - - - - Combat? Combat is cool. NPCs can dodge and take cover (something I was really thrilled about when I first saw it in action). Wished it was in Skyrim the moment I saw it. Oddly enough, it sort of is? But the objects that Skyrim's NPCs can take cover behind were given very minimal attention, and of course they don't have nice animations to go with it. - - - - - - - Joinable factions? They make Skyrim's own main quest's attempts at shoehorning you into joining the College of Winterhold and the Thieves Guild seem subtle. Never have I craved Fallout: New Vegas' independent choice ending so much! - - - - - - - The Settlement system? A joke. A horrible, unfunny joke. Ooh, look! An NPC! What must they have to say? What cool area or side quest might they point me to? Hahahahahahaha. Your reward for rescuing a kidnapped friend or taking down a huge base of raiders? You get to take care of those NPCs for life! Provide them with food, water, bedding, security, and fun! What, you don't understand that a whole group of people whom you have no real connection to is now under your exclusive care? You don't understand why that house they've been living in is no longer sufficient because they have been introduced to wonderful YOU? Oh. Well, they're going to die. Or abandon ship. How can they possibly take care of themselves with you? Life is just not worth living! - - - - - - - Enemy variety? Dull as dishwater. Grab Mutant Menagerie and go wild. I wouldn't be playing Fallout 4 for this long if it hadn't been for that mod. Want a crazy experience? Get a mod that disables daylight. Go to Far Harbor for the very first time and take a sturdy and trusted companion with you, then wander around until you find a kraken. Or maybe let the kraken find you. Or perhaps a wendigo. Ah, good times.

In conjunction with my previous feedback, I feel I must also add my voice to Glitchfinder's on the issue of the "New" button. It really is far too bright and distracting. On such a dark background it resembles that of an obnoxiously glowing orb.
-
It pains me to say it, but if there is a difference in background colour, I am not seeing it. It's as though I am being asked to look at different paint swatches, and they are all a tiny variation of the same dark black. On the other hand, the font featured in your image? It's actually blurrier than what it is currently (as I type) on the Skyrim Special Edition's home page, which appears relatively clear in comparison to that which is in the image.
-
You're welcome. I hope it helps.
-
I do appreciate that you are attempting to reach out. The sample you have provided represents only a small portion of what a whole page would appear like, and I am afraid that with the level of darkness it currently encompasses, that the overall experience will still prove to be overwhelming. The text is a good size (personally speaking), but I agree with WndMll's opinion (included below) that the colour hex of #8e8e8e would be a major improvement.

For nearly two weeks now, I have been attempting to upload updates to four different mods. Each time I think I am ready to do it, the change in contrast and new "ultra" dark mode leave me backing away and reaching for an aspirin. The forums are also on the dark side, I grant you, but the difference is that I do not have any obligation to spend the same intense amount of time here as I do when formatting pages for the umpteenth time or monitoring comment sections. What I loved best about the Nexus was the chance to reach out to others through this medium and the ability to be creative, especially being able to do so in a way that few other modding websites allow. Much of that has been severely hampered by the site update, if not eliminated forever. I intend to maintain what I have shared here because I have no wish to harm anyone who enjoyed my work or cared enough to create patches for it, but the prospect of sharing anything new here is dubious at best. Please reconsider this update.

As a user with an older computer, this has been a source of concern for me. I have been monitoring the temperature readouts. Every time I load a page that has been affected by the update (let's say the main page for Fallout 4 for an example), the temperature rises by 2° Fahrenheit. If left idle, it may slowly drop a little in temperature, but if I decide to scroll up or down, this act leads to extra degree gain every few seconds. I just finished scrolling up and down a couple of times on the Fallout 4 hub, and total temperature has risen by 9°. Note: Closing the Fallout 4 hub while typing this out on the forum has lead to the temperature decreasing by 10°.

I know just what you mean. Nothing else really matches the Nexus, but the current day Nexus doesn't hold a candle to its old self, either. This is a really sad situation that could have been avoided.

The direct link to the Feedback board is currently missing from its usual spot in the Forum area. That's what Shardoom is referring to. @Shardoom Here's the link: https://feedback.nexusmods.com/ I have it bookmarked to hell and back.
-
I said it back in early February and I will say it again: Without the individual mods that go into them, Collections amount to very pretty looking but mostly empty gift boxes. My linked comment mentions how poor to non-existant communication happens to be between Collection curators and the mod authors whose creations they utilize, so seeing Collections (which have their own part of the site to begin with) sharing space with individual mods is adding insult to injury. If you are so intent on having Collections sharing space on the individual mods side of the site, then are you planning to do the same and advertise individual mods on the Collections side of the site as well? What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

I just don't want it to get to the point where such fixes, no matter how welcome or appreciated, are taken for granted--by both the community and the Nexus itself. It also saddens me that it's reached the point where we have to use third-party tools in order to view a formerly beloved website with some measure of comfort. The change in contrast, the removal of backgrounds, the oddly glowing font--it is driving me batty. I already use special lens clips on account of chronic migraines. To say that I am frazzled at the changes in the lighting alone is putting it kindly.
-
Just like how modders already do for so many games?
-
Guilty as charged.
-
It feels like some sort of drastic switch was flipped. I have chronic migraines, so websites offering a Dark Mode are always a plus, but whatever the new update introduced is more like an ULTRA Dark Mode. Before it was this nice balance of gray; not too bright and not unbearably dark. I was hoping that returning with some extra sleep and an aspirin on board might improve the experience (not that taking an aspirin just to utilize a website should be necessary), but the contrast issues are still too strong. Tried running the site on two other devices, and the experience is the same. I have been attempting to find a word to describe what the font appears to be doing... Swimming, perhaps? To my eyes, the dark contrast of the site is giving the font a ghastly bloom effect--the very sort of thing I use mods to get rid of when it shows up in games.
-
Been playing around with a new mod idea concerning horses, but it seems that they cannot be spoken to by the player normally. After some experimentation, enabling PC dialogue through a small Race edit permits it to take place--but the problem is that the dialogue only appears once the player is mounted atop the saddle. I was hoping for face-to-face conversations given some of the interactions involved, so I thought it best to ask if anyone is aware of some way I can get the dialogue to show up along side the default Ride option? I try to keep my mods SKSE free, which probably limits my options here, but it never hurts to ask.

Really? That's wonderful news! Are fixes for the beta just implemented silently, or is there is an accessible changelog hosted somewhere?
-
Tried the Beta yet again. Was blinded by SMUT within seconds. So, let's try this once more: Can you PLEASE fix the filters for authors who are supposed to be Blocked? Or is controlling a "Popular Collection" a get-out-of-jail-for-free card?
-
Apparently this still bugged me enough that I decided to make a test esp with some of the custom races in it. What surprises me is, I'm not seeing any conflicts. Just new records. Maybe it's a remnant dating back to the time of adding new hair colours directly to the existing race sectors, but I was expecting a sea of red conflicts in xEdit. If this is how it normally works, then I might just go ahead with it. I'll make sure I don't keep anything tagged as Playable in the final form, however.

Just want to reiterate that the smut peddlers I have blocked still have their content proudly on display because they happen to control popular Collections.
