  1. Asking at a forum is usually my last resort but I am truly out of ideas, I've played the game a few years before in fact I've made a few simple mods for it so I usually know how to use mods. However I have spent several hours troubleshooting this issue and I still can't get it to work. Basically the esp file works, so we know it's not load order, because all the extra texture items show up in LooksMenu, except none of the textures for those extra items will load. However the behavior is slightly different depending on if I've installed that unique player race mod. If I have that mod, and I pick a stock brow, and then I scroll down to one of the extra brows, I just get no brow. But if I don't have unique player race, and I scroll down past the stock brows, I'm stuck showing the last stock brow. https://imgur.com/a/kQvpSAg I tried absolutely everything, different load orders, tried them all. I tried changing the variables for LM, uTintWidth=2048, didn't work, tried it in FO4SE plugin settings ini, file, and FO4.ini, and FO4Custom.ini, none of them work. Load loose file is enabled, there are other loose textures and they all load fine. No matter what I do, I just can't get any of the custom textures from LMCC to load, and this is really important mainly because a lot of the custom NPC characters use these things and without them many of them show up with no brow and it looks terrible.

  5. Like after you deal with the bald guy and the brotherhood rolling in? I'm trying to do a second play through while also dealing with many of the bugs that come with mods, I ended up having to play those quests over and over, when I just wanted to try another ending.
  6. For some reason I am now unable to talk to or trade with any of the companions when they're following me. I tried disabling all mods and that fixed the trading but I still can't talk to them. when I select the talk option it just disappears as if the conversation already ended. I can still command them and everything, I guess the only problem is I can't tell them to exit power armor, and I can't tell Dogmeat to fetch the Cryolator. I never installed any companion related mods, only the numbed dialog UI mod. I tried switching companions, I tried disabling and enabling them again, still can't chat with them.
  7. I actually like their site, not as bloated as nexus, I'ma browse theirs instead from now on. they also stole my mods but I don't care, let there be some competition and maybe nexus can fix their laggy outdated website.
  8. I can edit diffuse maps just fine but specular map gets screwed up no matter which format I save it in, and normal map formating is so screwed up some formats cause the game to crash on load. I'm using Photoshop CC 2015 with the Nvidia DDS plugin. NONE of the formats work for specular, and all of them give the same results, they make the entire thing high chrome. trust me I tried every single one. Normal is different, some formats makes everything flat and flipped, while others crash the game. also, I read every topic on this issue in this form nothing worked, there is no alpha channel for diffuese, normal, or specular. at least not for the vault suit.
  9. I just don't like all the crazy drastic changes, I mean the suit is iconic if you change it to black or white it's not lore friendly any more. Also adding big hexagon textures to it just looks stupid because like hexagon is supposed to be si-fi or whatever? but huge ones that seem to be just patterns printed onto it instead of some kind of micro structure? Why would anyone do that? The suit is clearly primarily focused on being functional instead of stylish, not that the pattern is stylish anyway. And no carbon-fiber isn't suitable for clothing.... http://i.imgur.com/fTufKJM.jpg The micro hexagon pattern is slightly enhanced, now it's barely visible even without light shining on it. the tubing lines are slightly lighter color, should probably do more cus now I can't see any difference in-game. all dirt removed. I can't get the secular texture to work, none of the formats is working, it just makes the entire suit ultra-reflective.
  10. This started happening a few days ago where I would randomly run into a horribly glitched up tree with crazy geometries sticking out to infinity. This would usually be like a graphics card rendering issue but here it only happens to specific tress and is different for each save, and is consistent through save/ reload and restarts so it probably isn't a simple rendering issue on the graphics card. So please don't tell me to "upgrade graphics driver" because you don't actually know what's going on and you just give the generic answer to every problem there is. This is incredibly rare, only like a handful of trees in the entire map show this problem but they show it at basically any distance, as long as the tree geometry is showing at all, the glitched faces are shown. They're so big even at far distances they can cover up the entire sky when looking at their direction. But all of them are consistent and unique to each save game. The only solution I've found is I just select the tree and disable it in the console and then everything is fine (until I find another one). But here I have a tree I cannot disable because it's part of the ground that makes up this entire area (CIT site) http://i.imgur.com/sUjg0pJ.jpg I have beaten the game once, which took me like 40 hours without running into this problem, I think this only started to happen after the last update, because many of the locations I know I have been to but didn't see the trees glitching up.
  11. I know there's a spoiler section, nobody's in there so I'll just post this here. So I beat the game, twice, with the institute and railroad endings. The game's not bad but I have a couple of issues with the story. 1. The Institute's actions don't make sense. Piper talks about kidnappings and the sort by the institute throughout the commonwealth but there is no mention or explanation of it anywhere, you can't ask Father about any of this stuff, nor do you find any evidence of human experimentation in the environment. 2. The Institute's view on the synths don't make sense. Most scientists and researchers who do things like neuroscience or artificial intelligence don't believe in such things as free will, or dualism. Basically the consensus is that humans are purely physical and all human characteristics are results of physical interactions. It's almost impossible to imagine that a group of scientists who can create perfect human replicas would believe otherwise. It would make much more sense if the Institute took a view similar to the slave owners in history, that the Synths are less than human, maybe slightly less average intelligence or something? 3.It was obvious from the start that Shaun is either already dead from old age, or already really old, because there was suspiciously no way to tell how long has past since the kidnapping. Having all the Kellogg story just felt like a trick of deception instead of interesting twist. 4.If Kellogg could live for a hundred years, and the synth Shaun could live forever. How come they couldn't make Father live longer? It makes no sense because Kellogg looks exactly the same as the kidnapping, which means he was enhanced 60 years ago when Shaun was still a baby. You'd think that in like 30 years they'd be able to enhance anybody and do a better job? 5.It makes no sense how the Railroad even thought about taking down BOS, unless they expected to have a super soldier like the player on their side. Also the BOS just arrived recently, how did they even know each other so well? The Railroad probably wouldn't even know about BOS because there is no internet. And the BOS shouldn't know about the Railroad because nobody does. 6.The Institute has superior technology but their guns and amor don't have any advantages why? Considering their limited supply of power shouldn't they focus on less elite forces with better equipments? Maybe with their own power amor? Instead they just throw in armies of not very useful synths. 7.This is more like, lore stuff. When someone dies in power amor shouldn't it just power down into the empty stance? Instead of rag doll all over the floor? You could still make the amor inaccessible for gameplay reasons and just say that it won't open unless the occupant agrees. 8.Piper's motivations for abandoning her news paper and following the player around makes little sense. I mean yea she's a news reporter but why is she following me like a bodyguard? Dense says he'll follow you but after you dismiss him he doesn't go back to his BOS missions he just stays at your settlement doing nothing. Like, I thought the BOS was here for a reason? Shouldn't you be helping? 9.Father says that he let the player out, but he lets his Corsers to kill the player. Even though we know that in this world no normal human could defeat one of those. Does Father want to outright kill the player? He even lets the Player face Kellogg when we also know that Kellogg has been playing this game for over a hundred years there's basically no chance the player will come out on top from the game word's perspective. 10.Vault 111 is full of subjects from before the war, somehow the Institute kills all of them so that the Player can be special. 11.The Synths are immune to radiation, Virgil's hiding place doesn't really give him any advantages. 12.If the Insatiate wasn't already powered by nuclear, where did they get their power from? Geothermal? Even Diamond city is nuclear powered. Hell even laser guns are nuclear powered. Why is this such an issue for them?
  12. If your enbeffectprepass.fx is Boris' original, then you won't have any DOF from ENB, because only the base for depth of field is present. There are at least 4 DOF only files on Nexus Skyrim worth looking into, some of which can be edited ingame, some not. Good luck...really sorry you think I was here trying to insult your intelligence. I tried like 3 of them, same thing Dynavision doesn't have Bokeh, it's just a simple blur so there's no point. What do you think? Did you read my OP?
  13. LIke I said, please do not insult other people's intelligence. BTW that only turns on the game's own DOF, not enb's all the other enb effects work, I tried multiple versions of enb including just plain stock enb with it's stock settings no presets still no dof, and only no dof.
  14. like the tile says, I can't get DOF to work. there is no DOF from enb what so ever. only the native one works. Please don't insult people's intelligence by telling me things like I need to turn it on, yes it is turned on, and yes bFloatingPointTarget is set to 1, and anything else that can be found on Google have been tried, still no DOF. I'm running a Titan X.
  15. I've been trying to get everything working to experience everything , once again, in 4k. However DOF seems to be giving me problems, no matter which preset I use DoF is barely visible and seems to be static at all times. The distant mountains are always slightly blurred but anything near me will never get blurred, or at least I can't see any what so ever. So I'm suspecting maybe the shader is measuring things in terms of number of pixels? But why can't I seem to get dynamic DoF as well, I don't quite understand. Again, I tried many presets many of them with screenshots showing very strong DoF, none of them seem to make any difference (I'm replacing the enbeffectpass.fx file).

I've been suddenly having this problem where the game shows no graphics after it loads a save, but everything else is working, the UIs work I can move around and talk to NPCs and stuff, I can even open doors and go into cities, just that all 3D graphics is completely black. Main menu works, and the display models in loading screens also work. The problem started quite differently when I was getting out of a hotel in Whiterun only to see everything completely black (I did not install anything new), I was able to teleport to a few other places where the graphics is working. I tried to fix it by reinstalling the game and all my mods only to find that some of the ground textures are totally black, and some cities are still totally black (no sky no particle, just pure black). I tried to fix it again and now everywhere I go it's totally black. I was found that I was able to run the vanilla game without problems, but once I installed all my mods it's totally black again. ENB is not to blame as I tried to launch without it, still black.
  17. In my case, this was being caused by a mod. It was an outdated hunter's lodge mod, it added a building somewhere out in the world, but for some reason it was affecting certain load screens. Like the one exiting from Bleakfalls Barrow, the entrance to Helgen keep during the introduction, etc. It was totally unrelated, but that eventually fixed it. I've played about 20 hours since I removed this mod and have not encountered a single infinite load screen. I've also heard that certain .ini tweaks doubled with Open Cities can cause very long loading times. For some other CTD's I advise turning of Steam's cloud saves Skyrim -> Properties (in steam). This was causing CTDs for me. Also, if you don't actively make use of it for screenshots or chatting, you could also disable the steam overlay. That was causing me some issues, although no crashes. (Occasionally I would press Shift instead of shift+tab and the overlay would pop up.) I know its unrelated to your issues, but sometimes, problems manifest differently from one PC to the next. If its causing me some issues, it could be very well be one of many culprits in your ongoing woes. Mine does not happen in game, Mine is only when you load a saved game. It will not load because it gets stuck in some final stage. And if you have it in full screen it won't freeze it just loads forever, but if you have it in windowed mode it will freeze up. There is no way to load the save once this happens, you can try as many times as you want wait as long as you want it will never load. What's more frustrating is there is no clear pattern. Sometimes you save a game, quit, load it and it loads. But then if you quit without saving, start the game again, without changing anything what so ever. Now it won't load that save! but nothing has changed! it just won't load! the only solution is start new game, and then quit to main menu, and then load whatever save, and it will work 100% of the time.
  18. I think you're on to something there. My rig runs Skyrim stable as a rock, always has (I have maybe 50 or 60 mods). However, for quite a while FO3 and FONV were an absolute nightmare, even with a completely vanilla set up. I eventually got FONV rock stable, but even now FO3 causes me problems (albeit much better than the initial crashfest it was for quite a while after release). Other peeps, however, seem to have been able to run FO3 without a hitch right from its initial release. When I read about all the peeps having stability issues with Skyrim, even with the vanilla game, I just count my blessings. I really didn't think my spec is a problem, because I run a 3930k, 16GB memory and HD 7970 graphics. I know it's not like the best money can buy, but it shouldn't be an issue running this game. I even suspected it was my hardware due to my undervolting, I set back all my voltages and it doesn't make any difference. Today I did exactly what I said, i reinstalled the game, and reinstalled all the mods. It worked for some time but then it's back to the same old BS after I installed a couple of new mods. I just don't get it I mean I don't even install that many mods, and I don't have the really large ones like that 2k texture thing. The biggest ones I have are the armor and weapon packs, as well as the skyrim redone mod.
  19. I really wanted to replay the game after all this time, try out the new mods and everything, but I really can't stand the ever more frequent crashes of all kinds. I almost spend more time solving issues than playing the game: - Endless loading I have no idea what causes this, I tried disabling mods and stuff (of course there are a few good ones I cannot disable or I might as well just not play the game. And of course the DLCs). What happens is I cannot load the game because it gets stuck after loading about 1.1GB into memory. The strange thing is that there is a solution and it always works. You just need to start a new game, and then quit to main menu, and then it will load. So stupid and time consuming. - Freezing I think it has something to do with loading certain parts of the world. because it often happens when I'm walking. and repeats every time I walk to the same spot. The solution is simply to keep reloading and hope that it works by chance. Again, time consuming and stupid. Why does it work some times and not others? -CTD I have no idea why this happens. Sometimes It's a mod like the detailed map will cause it to CTD whenever I open map. Sometimes it just happens for no reason. -TESV.exe has stopped working Again, no idea what causes it, just happens whenever it feels like it. Overall the game is just so unpredictable it's like a junkyard machine it kinda works but you're always in fear of it stop working so you have to constantly press F5. But unlike Fallout NV, pressing F5 will pause the game for a brief second, which is really annoying when you're pressing it all the time! I think it's mostly because of the new patches or whatever, When I first started the game I can't even choose my race it just says look up failed. Hell I couldn't even choose my sex without instantly crashing( I think it was the hair mod). I had to do all sorts of mods and console commands just to customize my character. I remember it was much more stable when I first played it when it just released. I never ran into any of the bugs so I don't know what they did with all those patches, just broke the game. I think tomorrow I'm just gonna try re installing the game, and only install the mods that I have tried and saw was good, leaving out all others. see if I get lucky this time. and oh, please don't tell me I don't meet the system requirements. My new system is at least twice as fast as the one I had when the game first released.

I'm having a really strange problem with my mod here: http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3542&tab=3&navtag=/modules/comments/comments_ajax.php?tid=495883|:|fid=3542 Specifically it's only the one named "caliburn" and its sheath that have the problem, the other ones are fine. The problem is with how it reacts to light, I think my normals are facing the wrong direction but not just flipped. It's kind of complicated, you can see it for yourself in-game but screenshots won;t do it. So I made a simple diagram to explain this: http://i.imgur.com/dP85W.png if you look here, situation A is what we want( all 4 lights are in the same position relative to the cube, and perpendicular to the edge between side 2 and 3). Situation B is what happens when the normals are flipped. however, my sword starts with B or D, I can't tell which. But when I flip it it just goes to situation C but not A. If you look at the side labels in the middle, only sides 2 and 3 should be illuminated, side 1 and 4 should not because they are at an angle greater than 180 degrees to the light. If the normals are reversed then only sides 5 and 6 should be illuminated because they are opposite to 2 and 3. What I have here is some screwed up normal that is not just flipped but also seem to have been rotated 90 degrees over some other axis, I just have no idea what's going on. I can't use the face normals command because it just screws up all my smoothing groups. I tried all the other ones and none of them work. Of course these models all look perfect in 3ds MAX, until you import and paste them into the game's nif file branches.

Why is it all but the very first version of nifskope to support skyrim will break my UVs? it doesn't matter if I import an OBJ or export with nif tools and copy over, it just says "could not load texture data for UV editor". Is there something wrong on my side? like how could you have such a major problem and not notice it? but that first version has some serious problems with simple mouse control, sometimes my mouse buttons stop to work for the program, and I have to do random things like maximize minimize, random clicking on the render window trying to make it work and everything.
