There are cloud objects and blowing snow objects which are placeable statics. Not necessarily part of a mod. If you have the mod More Informative Console and go to that location and select the air there the console if it manages to select it instead of some other object could possibly tell you it's identity and what mod if any put it there. Or you could try disabling any mod that mentions placeable clouds or the like and see if it goes away. Do similar objects show in other snowy areas or around mountain tops?

This is a good site for information on the Creation Kit: the CreationKit Wiki This YouTube by Bethesda is useful for getting started with the creation kit. It has a whole series to create a dungeon from beginning to end.:

Why don't any games use text parsers like the old Zork games to allow the player to ask questions or give orders to NPCs? I used to enjoy trying to find the right things to say to NPCs to get the response I needed. The wrong questions could get hilarious responses from them even if not particularly useful ones.

NEEWBEE HERE ??? HELP WITH DROP-IN STANDALONE MODS
greyday01 replied to Twistedp469's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
The texture and mesh replacers for the most part are plug and play. They will continue to work with game upgrades just fine. So will most in the player home category. For the most part you should just read the requirement dropdown. If all they list is the base game and DLCs you are fine. I would go with SKSE and MCM even though they will need new versions if the game gets updated. So many mods depend on them and they are not hard to install and update as needed. Animation replacers would be more work and so would body modifier mods. I haven't bothered with those myself. Just not worth it to me. -
Any ideas as to what mod is causing this weird mesh???
greyday01 replied to mikey1979's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
I had the same problem. The road in Whiterun looked waist high on my character. I fixed it from a suggestion I googled but I don't remember the fix. It was a graphic resolution change that fixed it but I can't remember the exact fix. Ok. I think I found what fixed it from googling "What causes this texture bug in Whiterun?" "Most likely the well known stuck object LOD after fast travel. Change Distant Object Detail on the View Distance tab of the Advanced options of the games launcher from Ultra to High. Alternatively try just slightly changing the value fBlockLevel0Distance=60000 in SkyrimPrefs.ini to 57000. Solved! Thank you! Changed the ini to 58000. " I think for me it was changing from Ultra to High, but it was a while back so you could try either or both. -
Need help setting up merchant npc
greyday01 replied to haslador's topic in Skyrim's Creation Kit and Modders
Another thing I could think of. Instead of copying the npc and packages r-click and make new ones instead. Copying is ok for things like statics and misc items but anything involving dialogs or quests can get funky when copied. Start fresh. -
Are you using MO2 or Vortex? I know MO2 has profile specific saves in their Profile folder in the MO2-Skyrim folder. But you must set up profiles first. Without that you would have to check each save by loading it. If you do set up profiles, you can afterwards cut and paste the saves into the profile/saves folder. Can't think any other or quicker way to separate out different character saves. Vortex is probably similar. Is it possible to guess by the save date and time of the save? Unless you were often switching back and forth. You might be able in game to organize a bit. Load a save, open the console and immediately savegame CharacternameAndLocationOrGameDate. Then load the next save and do the same. Then you could delete all the unnamed saves.

Saves should be in Documents - My Games - Skyrim Special Edition - Saves If you use MO2 and profiles they might be in the MO2 folder under profiles. I don't know where Vortex might put saves. Don't know about Steam's cloud.

Ever done a playthrough where you are head of every guild, got every house and most of the unique items, finished every quest except those that never leave your journal? Ever tried a dead is dead game? Ever did a game where your character followed strict roleplay, only did what such a character would do. Like a barbarian would not join the mages college and a weedy academic would not join the companions or a paladin not the thieves or dark brotherhood?

Yeah, for those on consoles I'm glad they are able to get mods. But, for those on computers Bethesda should NOT install updates of your game everytime they want to update so console users can have another creation. All updates should ask permission before downloading much less installing. And even for packages like the AE package they should ask permission for each of the included creations most of which are trash. How many armor sets do you really need or want? Maybe they should have separate games for pc and consoles including the exe. Just allow downloading either as long as you buy one. I got AE because I was curious, but I will NEVER buy any from the CC. again.

creation kit new version
greyday01 replied to greyday01's topic in Skyrim's Creation Kit and Modders
Yeah, I had set Skyrim to not update, but I forgot the CK. -
I just tried to fire up the creation kit today but got a pop up saying it was the wrong version. My Skyrim se is still at 1.6.1170.0 with a date modified of 10/10/24 but the creationkit.exe is at version 1.61378.1 with a date modified of 11/24/24. Is there any way to go back to a previous version of the ck? I Really don't want to update everything AGAIN. Never mind. It seems CK Platform Extended needs updating. I'm SO tired of Steam updating files on my computer without asking permission. NO site should be able to do that to your computer including Microsoft.

How do you play? Completionist (find all locations, get every unique item, ect), Dead is Dead, Roleplay (only actions compatible with your character), or have you tried all in various playthroughs? Which do you like most? I like to have at least one completionist run, usually the first, then do roleplay runs.
