Hello, I don't think I've ever posted here, in the newbie section, despite the fact I've been aware of the site since I first purchased Eldar Scrolls Skyrim. I've visited the site frequently, read stuff that was posted in the forums, might have even made a couple posts, or replied to a few of them. I've gotten some good laughs out of some of them, and read some that somehow left me feeling less intelligent with the reading, no offense intended here, I realize the contributors run the gamut in here, in age, and education. I've downloaded and installed mods from off the site, ones I've liked the descriptions of, or seen previews of in the videos, or ones that have a lot of good pictures along with the information, so I knew ahead of time what I was getting. I've seen stuff I've marveled at, and stuff I think is just old hash in a bright new package, kinda redundant like reinventing the wheel. I feel like I've gotten to know some of you, either through your good works, or just through your personalities, by what, when, and how you respond to others, who have questions, or queries, and let me tell you, there are a few of you who don't play well with others. To each his or her own I suppose. I guess my point is, that I don't really feel like a newbie after all this well spent time, and don't particularly cotton to being called one either. I've probably been gaming since before most of you were born, since back before there were computers, and X-boxes. We had a table top, a hand full of dice, a written up character, and a whole lot of imagination, three channels on the TV set and you had to get up to go change those, and you spent most of your time outside playing anyway. kids today have got it made. I drive a semi truck for a living, and with the exception of my wife, and a very few close relations, I don't hang out much with people at all, they're irritating, especially when they're being silly, and I don't have much patience for silly people, rarely have the time to hangout anyway, except at truck stops. I reckon that makes me somewhat of a loner, which is how I do my gaming these days, alone. Also, that's a big reason why I like this game, with the exception of a few NPC's, that I'm telling what to do, so they don't get some fool notion to do something silly and what not, that get's them killed, I don't have to worry about being dragged off, on some fools errand of theirs, that might get my observant, quiet, stealthy, intelligent, intuitive, experienced, professional, older, warrior character shot in the knee by a stray arrow, and forced into early retirement!

What's up with the 1.4 Patch? I thought that was official..It met the description that was given about it, on the Actiontrip site the other day! So why is it under Moderator Review?

The only thing I ever get are slanderous accusations! ie; "If I catch you picking any locks around here, were going to have a problem"..Or, "I catch your hand in my pocket, I'm going to cut it off", (like they have anything worth stealing)...Then there's, "Oh! Your that new companion, so what do you do, fetch their mead"? Then there's my favorite, "Sneak Thief"! The last one that said that, mysteriously showed up in the middle of the night, naked, and dead, on the executioner's block in Solitude, If you know what I mean!...I get no respect, no respect at all!...

I had this happen to me too, but it's only occured once, and that happened while I was actually using the enchantment table for the 1st time. Which means I was actually in the room (or rather my character was) when it occured. But, I had a hired mercenary with me at the time, and he didn't say anything like "WTF", or "dude you better check this out." So when I turned around, my first reaction was "Holy S#!t, are they supposed to do that"? But then, my second reaction was to look at my hired merc and say, "why you thieving SOB, are you trying to steal from me"? Then I killed him!...

An overhaul into "The Hyborian Age, the Age of Conan", the basics are already there! Although it would be nice to see some more character depth in the storyline, than what's offered in Skyrim! Someone else would have to make it though, my freetime is severly limited with supporting a household in this economy, and with my job I'm very rarely at home anyways! This is a pipedream, would probably be too many copywrite issues to attempt it!...

Is anybody else having issues with game saves disappearing, when you start a new game! For example I got a Nord character, worked him all the way up to Lvl36. Well I decided just for the hell of it, to start a new game yesterday with an Imperial, my thought process being that with the knowledge I've gained so far, playing my Nord, I could avoid some of my earlier mistakes with this character. Well anyway, despite this, I still have no intention of just giving up on my Nord game, but when I went to load up my last save with him, it's missing. I can find all his saves from lvl32 all the way back to creation at Helgen, but everything beyond lvl32 is just gone...Now I know this probably doesn't sound like a big deal to a lot of you, but I work as a long haul driver, I don't have a 9 to 5 job, so to me every little bit counts, cause it may be days, sometimes weeks before I get any layover, or rather quality gaming time, and to me that time is precious...But I do know that some of those battles getting to lvl36 were hard fought, and in some cases repeatedy hard fought, and I don't exactly relish going back to fight them all over again!...If anyone else has experienced this, or knows of a solution, that doesn't involve cheats or console commands, ( he earned everthing he got honestly.) I sure would appreciate it...

Man that really bites, I wasn't aware they were shutting down! Don't pay that much attention to online chatter, usually don't have the time! And when I do have time, I'm generally trying to get as much playtime in as I can, the downside to being a long haul truck driver. Usually, I only go online to find a solution to a problem I'm having with a game, or to check out the mods being made for them. Anyway tried to get on the Wiki page today to get the item codes for a couple alchemy ingredients in Skyrim, that's generally the only thing I use the site for, it's quick and easy, and usually covers the whole gambit on whatever I may be looking for! I got a big government looking logo saying "this site blocked by US Goverment" with some other official looking crap, numbers and such, and started thinking what the hell! Glad to hear it's only temporary, inconveinent, but just the same I'm glad it ain't nothing permanent.....

As a true purist, Robert E. Howard fan of Conan, I must say, your doing a wonderful job on Hollywood's version of Conan!..Please, don't be offended, as that is not my intention.. I meant what I said, you are doing a wonderful job... Also, I really like your idea of adding the Cimmarion Race to the game! I wish however, that an ambitious group of modders, (not saying that you aren't ambitious), would get together and do a complete overhaul of Skyrim, to recreate the Hyborian age of Conan!.. A lot of the elements to do this, are already in place in the current game, as far as races, and factions are concerned, including the playstyle, but would require renaming them (just races and factions) along with all the other meticulous details, involved in such an ambitious endeavour, that would have to be worked out!... That would be the game, I would love to play!...I'm sure however, that it could not be achieved without three major components, the Creation Kit, the Tool Set from Bethesda, and a group of dedicated modders...If there are any, that up to the challenge that is!....

Yeah! I like that idea. Kill the Jarl, take his place!...

Sorry if this question has been posed elsewhere, but seemed like the place to ask.. Where do I look to find out which version of Skyrim I'm running? On most games it shows up on the opening screen, or at least in the credits screen, but I haven't seen it anywhere on this game?

I have the same issue, and thought about using the console command to just kill them, but that Priest of Stendar or whoever that guy is that keeps asking if you know anything about the house with the suspected Daedra or Dremora worshipper whichever it is, keeps rushing into the temple and attacking me as well, and I haven't done that mission yet, so I don't want to kill him as well....It's bad enough outside the temple when every guard says, "hey I know you", most of the time they'll leave me alone when I use the reply "do you really want to do this, or I don't have time for this" whichever it is, they just reply "let some other guard deal with it"! But I agree, it is annoying...
