  1. For me it was Subnautica, 45 out of 152, and the ones that are gone now, were some of the highest rated Mods and Modders for the game. And I'd like to make another point, I remember in one of these threads, one of the "Negative" people saying that most will stay because there was only a a "Handful" of modders being vocal about this in the thread. Well, two of the top modders for Subnautica have removed all their mods, and NEITHER of them posted in these threads, or anywhere else, they were quiet about it the entire time, and instead just left a small paragraph on their mod pages. so, out of the 152 mods I have downloaded/download for Subnautica, 45 are gone, that's 30% of my LOAD ORDER. Three top Subnautica modders left quietly, and from what I can tell, they took down a collective of 84 mods. Maybe others also left from that community, so the total number could be more.
  2. You're correct, and multiple people can have the same idea, although the chances of both turning out exactly the same are kind of slim, unless it's a simple tweak to a file. It's a good thing when multiple people try to tackle the same task, as it creates competition and the user gets a choice.
  3. the idea with the popcorn is great. and lets celebrate the last day of the 5 week ultimatum to leave. what a great day for the lazy nexusmods mod collection fan boys and supporters. why using a more sophisticated and mod author friendly system if you can have the simple nexusmods solution from now on ? spread all the work of mod authors wherever you want, make money with it or do whatever you want. not any mod author at all can stop you from now on without running to court. all mod authors, if they want or not, most of them never asked, will support you from now on with all their hosted mods till the end of this plattform. they will be unable to control mods and distribution with basic functions and within their rights as an owner - but who cares? celebrate nexusmods, the vision and nexusmods new mod collections system! sounds like a weird fo4 child of atom quest ? no this is reality! Here's to you, Nexus Mods
  4. I finally took the offer from Nexus Mods and requested my mods be deleted. I'm not some modder with huge numbers, but my mods fulfilled specific needs, and for the games I supported, the numbers were pretty good. The irony is that I've never deleted an old version of a mod, and I've always left them up in a self-archived state, just in case someone wanted to use a specific file or see how the mod evolved. But with the move to revoke our ability to control our files, and the way it played out, I just can't agree to it.
  5. Let's stick to facts. There was no announcement, not until after ~100 pages of discourse in the mod author restricted section of the forum. The changes were implemented stealthily, and no amount of damage control can change that.
  6. It's been dead for awhile now and only going because trolls keep propping it up. Maybe I am missing something, but how could "trolls" be in the GMAD group? (I thought you needed 1000 downloads to participate.) Or do you mean "people who disagree with you"? Are you suggesting mod authors can't be trolls? And I don't mind what anyone thinks. I've said before that Nexus Mods can do as they wish. The deal is just bad now for people in my situation where most of the work is done through reverse engineering and custom tools made by other members of the community.
  7. It's been dead for awhile now and only going because trolls keep propping it up. The change to Nexus Mods has been felt in the smaller modding communities, and I know the Subnautica section of the site has lost a lot of mods, including newer versions of multiplayer mod Nitrox. There's an update about why they decided to pull future update here: https://nitroxblog.rux.gg/2021/07/21/the-nexus-event/ Personally speaking, I have been working on a complete UI overhaul mod for FFXII TZA, and it will not be on Nexus Mods now. After spending hundreds of hours documenting files, and also building on hundreds of hours of other community members' work, and tools, the last thing I'm willing to do is give up my IP rights. It's just not a good deal now, and it makes more sense to self host the mod/project and advertise it elsewhere.
  8. The irony is off the chart. You have created and continue to host material which breaks child pornography laws in your country. Maybe instead of writing long fallacy filled posts on internet forums, you should instead consider scrubbing your website of illegal material.
  9. archive.org remove websites and content from their system when requested to do so. So dunno why you're using them as a comparable example to Nexus Mods.
  10. https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/comments/5f5bu1/the_state_of_skyrim_modding/daiuzya/ I assume that 'Collections' are the cure to the "idiocy" ailment? And some missing context which was posted on the GMAD forum. The decision to make 'Collections' goes back at least 5 years: https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/comments/7n20ai/moddrop_apologizes/dryzuqm/?st=jd2822yr&sh=f785e9d7
  11. "Their work is not being touched" But it is, since you (Nexus Mods) are holding the mod author's work hostage.
  12. Stop trying to find holes in this incredibly well designed system.
  13. edit/ Found the issue.. no matter what, if FX was in the zip file name it would show as malware. Removed the FX from the name and it's showing as clean. Great job Rising! Wasn't sure where to put this but my reshade file keeps being flagged by only one antivirus company that apparently operates in china. https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/25d136b113e2a1e23caf6b0163c8e767103c3a9a3cdfcfc63347adfdc77eb00e/analysis/1479923526/ It's a bit annoying as the .7zip is 100% clean and was never flagged before. I'm a bit ocd so is there a way I can get around this so my file shows up as clean?
