Have you recently made any edits to your plugins? What was the last thing you did before this started happening?

Ctds. Could anyone explain my log or see what the issue is?
ripple replied to piperman123's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Snippets of the Papyrus log are insufficient (that last log lasted just a minute or so). Play for at least 10 - 15 minutes, then copy/paste the entire log here, enclose it in a set of spoiler tags so it won't clutter the screen. If it's too big to copy/paste here, upload it to PasteBin and post the link here. -
First, make sure all of your mods are updated to the latest version, especially the unofficial patch and the unofficial Dawnguard patch. Second, copy/paste your entire BOSS log here, including the SKSE information, and the list of plugins not recognized by BOSS if one is generated, and enclose them in a set of spoiler tags so they won't clutter the screen.

I don't know what you mean by 'the consensus is....' Mods and save games do not automatically become corrupt simply through the passage of time. However, if you uninstall mods mid-playthrough, all manner of orphan junk will be baked into your save games. The most damaging will be broken OnUpdate events from mods utilizing continually updating scripts. Reinstalling mods and continuing with save games borked by broken OnUpdate events will do nothing to repair those save games. You can, however, use SKSE's 'ClearInvalidRegistration' function, which specifically address broken OnUpdate events and may salvage your save game.
-
Replace your load order with a complete BOSS log, including the SKSE information and any plugins not recognized by BOSS. But if the issue is happening without any plugins activated, and with a new starting game, then it's not caused by the Imaginator. The only remaining possible culprit would be any texture replacers you have installed that do not come with plugins.
-
If you remove those script intensive mods like 'Wet n' Cold' from your game, you should be prepared to start a new game. Even if you can halt the onupdate scripts via MCM or some console command as part of the mod author's uninstallation process, those are just not the type of mods one should yank out in the middle of a playthrough. - are you using the 'memory patch', either via ENBoost, SSME, or the latest alpha build of SKSE? - describe your CTDs in greater detail: when/where/what were you doing or what was going on. - have you made any tweaks to the game ini files?
-
As Moto says, are you sure it's not caused by changes in the weather? It would also depend on what your Imaginator settings are. Some drastic settings might generate visual anomalies.....I also think the fact that Skyrim CTDs every time you try to take a screenshot might be a more serious issue. I've been using the Imaginator for a long time, and never had any problems. However, if you have not already, you must download the MCM Menu for Imaginator, rather than use the NPC helper that comes with the original mod, to adjust Imaginator settings, as to prevent savegame bloating.

Changing ugrid to 7 destroys the scripting in Helgen
ripple replied to WickedRequiem's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Raising your ugridstoload above default game value will generate game instability (which can be mitigated if using the 'memory patch') and other potential issues resulting from precisely what you noted, throughout the entire game. -
Would appriciate some help with interpreting TES5E
ripple replied to ArezAlLoke's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Yes, the plugin that immediately precedes those errors is the plugin responsible for generating them. You shouldn't just disable the plugin though. Assuming you installed all of these mods via a mod manager, you should uninstall the mod, to ensure all accompanying resource files are also uninstalled. -

ripple replied to ArezAlLoke's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Those plugins contain errors, as stated by the message, not conflicting records. Error records can cause game instability. It's possible they were made using a pre-CK tool like TESVSnip, or that the author(s) simply didn't know what they were doing. I would strongly recommend you uninstall those mods. -
farmorscalingfactor is the percentage of damage each armour point blocks, and further capped by the fmaxarmorrating, which is the maximum percentage of damage that can be blocked regardless of how high your character's armor rating is, but they don't affect the rate of skill gain. The most likely culprit right now is BYOG , since BYOG apparently does allow user adjustments to the rate of skill gain for some skills. Try uninstalling BYOG, then starting a new game, so you can test and see if that fixes the armour skill gain issue.

Are you using FNIS, per chance...?

CTD problems, uninstalling the mod won't fix
ripple replied to gorglegongleburger's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
If you use the Mod Organizer to install mods, it will install them into their own isolated folders (then reassemble them into a 'virtual data folder' when you run the game), rather than install them into the game data folder. This will allow you to retain a vanilla game installation regardless of how many mods you install. This is the problem though. For whatever reason, this is not the case. NMM is installing mods directly into the Skyrim data folder, and uninstalling them is not leaving me with a vanilla game. If it was doing that, I wouldn't have this problem. 'Mod Organizer', not NMM. Two different mod managers. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/1334/? -
I didn't see the Skyrim Community Uncapper in your BOSS log SKSE information, so unless you didn't paste the complete SKSE information, I am going to assume you are not using it and have never used it for your current playthrough (because that would have been the most likely reason why a number of skills have stopped leveling or are leveling very slowly). There is a GMST that controls the rate of experience gain for armour skills (which is based on the amount of damage you receive). Unfortunately, I have completely forgotten what it is. This is the more 'difficulty way' I mentioned earlier of trying to track down your issue. Load all of your plugin in TES5Edit, click to expand skyrim.esm, then look for 'Game Setting.' Expand that, and see if any mods in your load order modifies any of those values (modified values will be highlighted with colour). Look specifically for any values with the words 'armor' in it. Some mods modify values for armour ratings, scaling, and even skill gain, so it's very likely they could be 'malfunctioning' or their edits have been overriden by a conflicting mod which prevents them from working properly (and thus, causing weird things, like this). In fact, come to think of it... I don't use ACE, or BYOG. Is that a compatibility patch to bridge the two mods, which requires the base files for both mods, or a merged plugin containing changes from both mods? I'd poke around that one if I were you. Maybe uninstall it first and see if it fixes the problem.

Game CTD's randomly/ when i fast travel
ripple replied to michaelofdoom11's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Now delete this SKSE plugin (also from RaceMenu) nioverride.dlland see if you can load a save game. BTW, you did rebuild your compatibility patches after you uninstalled the mods not recognized by BOSS, correct? Also, what happens when you try to start a new game instead of loading a save game? -

Without seeing the BOSS log, the OP will not know specifically which mods should be cleaned. And mod that have already been cleaned by the authors, or contain 'intentional dirty edits', should not be cleaned (so a generic cleaning of all plugins is not a good idea).- 14 replies

Delete this file RaceMenuPlugin.esp Active(but keep RaceMenu.esp), then temporarily disable your dynamically generated compatibility patches (e.g. ReProccer and DSR patch), and see if you can load any save games. -

The fact that you can't run BOSS means you can't use it to set the template load order of your plugins. That may itself be a major contributor to your game instability. In addition, the BOSS log will output an array of information about the mods you are using, so that we can begin to make some informed diagnosis about the possible causes of why your game has become unstable (and thus make recommendations based on that information). So fixing that should be a priority, as it may end up fixing or mitigating your CTDs.- 14 replies

Maybe I am misunderstanding what you are saying, but how can you possibly install the game without installing the Steam client? -

Do you CTD before the main menu comes up or when/after you load a save game? -

Alright. Run 'BOSS GUI.exe' (it's located in the same folder as BOSS.exe). Under 'Edit', select 'settings', then change 'auto-detect' to Skyrim. Under 'Active Game', check to make sure 'Skyrim' is selected. Then see if BOSS can find your Skyrim installation.- 14 replies
