  1. Ini settings look ok. So now that you've changed the settings for 'Safety Load', play for a bit and see if your game is more stable.
  2. Try uninstalling SkyTest. When I had it (many versions ago), it was responsible for 95% of my worldspace CTDs, and one of the areas where it introduced consistent instability was Pelagia Farm.
  3. I am not referring to the ini for the Creation Kit, but for the game: skyrim.ini skyrimprefs.iniThese two files will be found at "Documents/...../Skyrim/' Post the contents here, into a separate set of spoiler tags (so we can differentiate which ini is which). And for god-sakes, please enclose them in a set of -spoiler tags- so we are not greeted by a wall of texts. 'SafetyLoad.ini' should be located at "..../data/SKSE/plugins/'
  4. No I havent tweked anything, in the ini I know I have checked this one in Skyrimeditorprefs ini, dont know if it is default though: bShowLights=1 .....the correct answer is 'yes', your ini has been tweaked, even if just to add one line that is not present in the default game ini settings. Just to be safe, copy/paste the contents of your ini files here, stick them inside spoiler tags so they won't clutter the screen. Also, if you haven't already, edit your safetyload.ini, and change add this line if it's not there already (or change 'false' to 'true'): EnableOnlyLoading = true
  5. CTD at the logo screen is almost always a mod dependency issue--but not always. There are actually a number of things that can cause CTD at the game logo screen that are not caused by missing masters. The first thing I recommend you do is to look to any mods you have updated or installed recently, and or any plugins you have edited yourself. In fact, try uninstalling your own mod and see if you can get past the logo screen.
  6. Have you made any tweaks to the game ini files? What's your system specs?
  7. 1) Looks like you missed some plugins that needs to be cleaned. Use TES5Edit to clean all the remaining plugins in the load order that have been flagged by BOSS as containing 'dirty edits', especially the ones with UDR errors (which can cause CTDs in some circumstances). Also clean the DLC and official patch ESM's. 2) Skyrim Project Optimization - Full Version.espWarning: Use either Skyrim Project Optimization - Full Version.esm or Skyrim Project Optimization - Full Version.esp, not both.Since this is not active, and you are using the esm version, go ahead and delete this plugin. Do this for all plugins you have deactivated and do not plan to use. Inactive plugins do not get loaded, but they do get scanned, and there is no reason to increase your game loading time by even a millisecond. It will also help maintain a 'clean' load order. 3) That STEPS guide is intended for people who are reaching the 255 plugin limit and need to merge some plugins in order to run more mods. But for some reason, the writer then meanders to a discussion of the TES5Edit merged patch and provides some inaccurate information. The XXXEdit merged patch was never simply a 'fire and forget', all purpose compatibility patch, even though many users were using it as such for FNVEdit, and now TES5Edit (it may have been capable of that for FO3Edit, when Elminster was still working on it). The merged patch function is not as intelligent as the Bash Patch function. It will often make 'raw merges' and merge records that should not be merged (an issue that is dealt with by the Bashed Patch through bash tags). Ideally, the XXXEdit merged patch needs to be manually edited post-generation to remove such unwarranted merges, but most merged patch users do not know that, nor do they know how (because it usually requires the user to be able to interpret plugin records in XXXEdit). As stated by the TES5Edit documentation, the merged patch function is no longer supported, and Sharlikran has said that it will likely be removed at some point in a future version of TES5Edit. It still does serve some purpose, such as expediting the generation of custom compatibility patches by more experienced TES5Edit users that would otherwise need to be painstakingly made manually (who can interpret plugin records in TES5Edit and know exactly what each records do, and what needs to be merged and what does not, and what merged records needs to be deleted post generation). But basically, unless a user knows exactly why s/he needs to merge certain records not covered by the Bashed Patch, and exactly which records, the merged patch should not be used. Therefore, I advise you to remove it. 4) Have you made any ini tweaks? 5) Are you using mods that do not come with plugins and would not show up in a BOSS log or load order, for example, texture or body replacers? If so, list them. 6) Can you describe your CTDs in greater detail? When/where/what were you doing or what was going on. As much detail as you can possibly remember, and start keeping a notepad log of any subsequent CTDs you experience. This will help indicate if there is some sort of common 'pattern' to the seemingly random CTDs (and thus possibly help track down the causes). 7) The SKSE information should be at the beginning of your BOSS log, which will indicate if your SKSE version is up-to-date, and what SKSE plugins you are using.
  8. This is a known issue with heavily modded setups. There is nothing you can do about it. It's actually better that you quit to desktop after you die and restart the game. http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1482548-auto-and-quick-saves-confirmed-bad/?p=23229874 (see cdcoolley's post)
  9. 1) Replace your load order with a complete BOSS log (including the SKSE information), include the list of plugins not recognized by BOSS if one is generated. 2) Why are you using a merged patch?
  10. Yes, that is in fact the most likely reason some of the dynamic spawns in your game are currently naked. Go into an interior cell with no NPCs, wait for 30+ days (or whatever the time period cell refresh time has been set to, if you have adjusted it in your game), and newly spawned NPC should no longer be naked. Note that this will not 'fix' non-respawning actors, such as most unique NPCs. Instead, if you see any of them are 'naked', open the console, click on the NPC, and type 'resetinventory' (without the quotes).
  11. You already opened a thread on this exactly same issue: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/1369061-wrye-bash-not-wanting-to-read-from-its-own-folder/ Did I miss something? Why are you reposting the exact same topic again?
  12. CTD at the logo screen is almost always a mod dependency issue. 1) Download and run BOSS to re-arrange your load order. 2) If that still does not work, download TES5Edit, load all of your plugins in it. If TES5Edit stops loading and bounces an error message, the plugin that causes the error is the one that is missing a (or more) master. 3) While you are at it, replace the loader with a complete BOSS log (just copy/paste the contents of the log into the spoiler tags, including the SKSE information). This way, we can look and see if there is anything else that needs to be done.
  13. Wrye Bash is not supposed to read it's own installation folder for mods. It's suppose to poll the default game data folder, which is where mods are supposed to be installed to. Also.... 1) NMM does not have a 'mod limit.' However, the game engine will not load more than 255 plugins (this limit would include the default game and official patch esm's, as well as DLCs), regardless of which mod manager you use (and keeping in mind that some mods can come with multiple plugins). 2) Have you modded any Bethesda games before (e.g. Skyrim, Oblivion, Fallout 3/New Vegas)? If the answer is 'no', then I will wager that installing a ton of mod your first time out will guarantee disaster. It will almost certainly ensure your game will be very unstable and virtually unplayable. Instead, I recommend you start with a very modest list of mods (say 10-20), then grow that list very gradually and carefully, until you hit a point where you can ascertain that the game engine and/or your rig can take no more. 3) Download BOSS and TES5Edit. You will need them eventually.
  14. Your accents are impressive and spot on. I wish I had a lot of roles open right now. But since you mentioned you can sing, this might interest you: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/1364742-casting-call-for-inconsequential-npcs/
  15. This what Boris had to say: http://enbdev.com/ctdfix.html He could still give it a shot. The worst thing that might happen is that it does nothing for him (which is pretty much what a few 32 bit users have reported, before going back to 'Safety Load'). Although, OP, you should make sure you will know how to uninstall ENB and ENBoost prior to trying this, which is basically just making sure you know which files belong to them by looking inside the downloaded archives (since they need to installed manually, you would need to, in the event of an uninstall, delete their files manually). Also, given your system specs, you would obviously operate ENBoost without enabling any ENB options (as to avoid any performance loss). Alternatively, dispense with ENB and just download SKSE 1.7 alpha, and configure memory pool size accordingly: [Memory] DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB= <default heap initial allocation size in megabytes, vanilla size is 512> ScrapHeapSizeMB= <scrap heap size in megabytes, vanilla size is 256> I inferred from what you said here: ...that you meant FPS drops do not always precede CTDs related to memory usage, and is thus not a 'reliable indicator', which would be absolutely true.
  16. He has a 32 bit OS. It's my understanding that Sheson's 'memory fix' is not going to do much for him in that instance. He might be better off going with 'Safety Load' instead (except he didn't report any ILS issues). I also doubt the unofficial patches will address the CTD problems. Nevertheless, one should install the unofficial patches (if for no other reasons than to repair vanilla bugs left unfixed by the official patches). And as Shenzi says, the myth that the game will experience a FPS drop prior to CTDs if the cause is exceeding memory or resource usage limits, is just that--a myth. Some people might experience this, some people will not. It might happen in some circumstances, and not in others. The 'Skyrim Performance Monitor' will help you ascertain if that is the cause of your game instability.
  17. Copy/paste your BOSS log here, enclose it in a set of spoiler tags so it won't clutter the screen.
  18. I am recasting a role for 'Inconsequential NPCs.' Audition will be open until Feb. 7. Details are here. If you previously auditioned for this role, please PM me (or PM me again) to let me know you are still interested. ------------------------------------ I like to propose something: the 'criteria' for the VA profile here sometimes look more like profiles for...dating sites rather than VA profiles. I gather that most VAs who submit their profiles here are basing their 'list of criteria' on hotemochick's first post, which they use as a 'template', since she was the one who started this thread and got the ball rolling. But now that this thread has been 'stickied', and is intended to be a permanent resource for modders seeking VA's, I was wondering how others would feel if I were to PM the moderators to edit the first post to list VA 'criteria' that are much more helpful to modders hunting for VAs, so that future VA's who stumbled on this thread will start providing those information, as well as cut out the information that isn't really helpful. For example, it's been mentioned before that 'race' or 'ethnicity' doesn't really indicate anything about the VA's skills or talent. It might be relevant for an on screen 'actor', but not a 'voice actor.' This topic was raised once before, but now I am proposing that we actually do something (like contacting the moderators) to make the changes that we would like to see to make this thread even more useful in helping to match VA's with modders. Below is a list of essential 'criteria' that I look for when I am hunting for a VA. What do you think? - Age of voices the VA can do, basically child/adult/old (not the VA's actual age, which isn't really relevant as some VA's can do a ranger of 'age groups'). - Type of accents the VA can do. - Gender (I suppose there might be VA's who can do both male and female voices, or use sound software to achieve that effect, but I am thinking that's probably rare, so I think we should keep this 'criterion') - Sound equipment. - (voice) acting experience. - other talents (can you sing, play an instrument, have access to professional sound editing software, juggle babies using your index fingers, etc.) - web link to voice samples
  19. Both 'Monster Mod' and 'Immersive Armor' come with plugins. SkyMoMod.esm Hothtrooper44_ArmorCompilation.esp Anyways, you have a 32 bit OS and your system spec is below par, yet you are using some performance intensive mods like 'WATER' and Flora Overhaul. That's not a good idea. Try uninstalling those mods and see if your game become more stable.
  20. CTD at the logo screen is a classic symptom of mod dependency issues. First, download and run BOSS. If the game still CTDs at the logo screen, then download TES5Edit and load all of your plugins in it. If TES5Edit stops loading and bounces and error message, the plugin that halts the loading and generates the error is the one that missing one (or more) master(s).
  21. 1) Have you made any edits to the game ini files? 2) List any mods you have installed which normally does not come with plugins (and would not show up in a BOSS log), such as texture or body replacers. 3) System specs. 4) CTD on loading a savegame after dying is a common issue. It's nothing to be concerned about. Right now we should focus on CTDs during gameplay.
  22. 1) Post your complete BOSS log (including the SKSE information), just copy/paste it here and enclose it inside a set of spoiler tags so it won't clutter the screen. Include the list of plugins of not recognized by BOSS as well (even if it's just one plugin). 2) Describe your CTD in greater detail: when/where/what were you doing or what was going on. '20 minutes' is still just one indicator, and there may be other issues involved. 3) Enable Papyrus logging. Play for at least 10 to 15 minutes, the copy/paste the entire log (not snippets of the log) here, inside a set of spoiler tags. If the log is too big to post here, upload it to pastebin and post the link here.
  23. I am recasting a role for 'Inconsequential NPCs': http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/36334/? Deadline: Casting Call for this role is open until February 7, 2014. Role: Someone who can sing. Gender/Age does not matter. Total workload is 3 songs and about 30 lines of spoken dialogue. Quality sound recording is a must, but experience is not necessary. Please upload audition clips to a free sound streaming host like 'SoundCloud', or a free file sharing host, then either post the link here or PM me the links. Audition Line 1:Sing at least a few verses from 'Age of Ambitions/Oppression' Audition Line 2 (spoken):"Yeah, I know that song. I -wrote- that song. I'll sing it with the -original- lyrics..." Thanks.
  24. 1) Goto the TES5Edit link in your BOSS log, follow the instructions on the page, and clean the plugins flagged by BOSS as containing 'dirty edits' (except there the BOSS log indicates the edits are intentional and need not be cleaned). You will need to remove identical to master entries as well as undelete/disable deleted references. 2) Some mods I'd advise you to uninstall: UDR errors can cause CTDs under certain circumstances. If a plugin contains UDR errors, it is generally a sign that the author is inexperienced, and there is no telling what other issues can be packaged with the mod that is not appearing in the BOSS log. 'Better Cities....' is one of these mods. You can clean them to see if it stabilizes your game, but I would just uninstall them. - how frequent are your CTDs? - have you made any edits to the game ini files? - have you installed mods that do not come with plugins and would not show up in a BOSS log, for example, texture or body replacers?
  25. 1) The messages informing you that you need a DLC to run the plugin, should be uninstalled unless you have those DLCs. 2) You can ignore the Bash Tags suggestions. They are intended for Wrye Bash, not for the average users. 3) If you have deactivated a mod and do not plan to re-activated, just uninstall the mod. Plugins that are not active do not get loaded, but they do get scanned, and there is no reason to extend game loading time by even a millisecond. It will also help keep your load order clean and make it easy to keep it well maintained. 4) It looks like you missed a couple of plugins that still needs to be cleaned (or uninstalled, if you don't plan to use them anymore). 5) I don't know if the deleted navmesh errors is a general message about mods that edit or deletes default game navmesh, or if those plugins have messed up their navmesh editing. I've never installed a mod that had such issues and never bothered to download one that did to poke around under the hood. But I'd recommend you uninstall them so you do not need to deal with the aggravation of repairing the navmesh (navmesh errors can cause CTDs).
