  1. In response to post #25911623. #25912083 is also a reply to the same post. Yea with the base games being about as expensive as a bag a chips and a drink... and the Ultimate Edition being only about 10$, they are practically giving them away. :P
  2. It's not going to be easy but I accept this challenge. It's going to take some time, but keep an eye out and I will let you know when/if I release it. Cheers.
  3. Hello Nexus community! I love Fallout: New Vegas. It is my favorite game of all time. And I have spent a lot of time modding it and not playing it. Why? Because my performance is just so incredibly bad. My frames are alright (averaging 40-60) but there is this constant stuttering and jerking that happens as the game loads things. This happens on a completely vanilla game with no texture replacers. I used to play it on my Xbox but ever since I got a gaming computer I have yet to get it going smooth even remotely. Things I have tried: Reinstalled my GPU driversEvery .ini "fix" known to man (including turning off the controller and rumble) The Stutter Remover and FNV 4GB (I have tried with and without)Misc GPU Settings via Control Panel ENBoostReseating my GPUEvery combination of the above I am not expecting my game to be completely flawless in terms of performance, but I expect it to be at least playable. Even indoors I get these horrible jerks that drop my frames from 60 to 30 every ten seconds or so and then it goes back up to 60. The only way for me to get this to not happen is to: Turn my resolution down to 720pTurn AA and AF offTurn my view sliders down to about 4 Turn shadows offTurn Water down to low This is the ONLY way I have found to get the game bearable. But with those settings it's even worse than on my Xbox. I have no idea what's wrong. At first I thought there was something wrong with my GPU, but I ran some tests on some other games and I get no stuttering or jerkiness. I get a solid 60FPS in Bioshock Infinite at Very High and a few other games such as Borderlands 2 and Far Cry 3. I would go back to playing on my Xbox if I hadn't of sold it. I even tried capping my FPS at 30 but that didn't do anything. :\ Any help would be very helpful. Thank you in advance. Computer Specs (dxdiag attached): i5 4670GTX 760 SC8 GB RAM 650 Watt PSU1920x1080p monitorI know the game doesn't run extremely well on anyone's system, but it should run at least OK on mine right?
  4. Hey everyone! I don't usually tread over to these forums as I am usually over at the Bethsoft forums. However, I have encountered performance problems and I desperately need assistance. I am going to post the same thing I did over there. "I seriously thought I had all my problems fixed and I could continue playing the game without any issues but now I am about ready to give up. I am having this new issue where when I am playing I will just be walking and out of the blue my game slows down and I mean slooooows down. Massive lag, like I cannot even play anymore. The thing is the frame don't really change. It's more like the speed of the game gets cut down to a third of what it's supposed to be. It's impossible to play when your game speed is constantly changing. It's so bad that I cannot even turn my character. I have tried everything under the sun. Disable and tried every setting imaginable, Google searched it, closed all programs running in the background, etc (I am also not running any mods at all). The only fix I could come up with to get rid of it completely is to turn AA and AF 0 and play my game in a 1280x720 resolution. Which makes the game look horrid. This is game breaking for me and It's strange because I have never had this problem before. http://static.zenimax.com/forums.bethsoft.com/public/style_emoticons/default/frown.gif Any help would be appreciated so much. Thanks. Audley. Edit: My frame rates stay around the mid 30's to 40 since I cap it at 40. I usually don't have v-sync enabled (I disable it via .ini) but I have this issue with it on or off. Update guys: I went into my game and Fraps said I was getting 40 FPS but when I moved it was like the entire game was in slow motion. My game speed must have slowed to a crawl. I went into 3rd person and my character was running like I had Bullet Time on. But that can't be because I have no mods installed. I don't know what to do this doesn't even make sense to me." Dxdiag
  5. no way ;) that is more annoying than the flicker, because some flicker begins under 50m that will be ugly if u switch down the LOD so near. @Audley i hope u get the solution, from me if i found a way out of this flickering i will repeat here Well after searching for many hours I have given up hope of there being a legit fix somewhere. However, I have gotten my settings and ini files to the point where the flickering is barely noticeable though I can still see some clipping.
  6. So there is nothing we can do about this aside from reducing it and hoping in the next game it's fixed?
  7. Yea this is exactly what happens in mine. I am contacting some people to ask for some insight but in the meantime I will keep searching.
  8. Glad to know this is not just me. I am hoping to keep this up at the to as long as possible so that maybe some modders/programmers with more knowledge can comment on the issue. *crosses fingers*
  9. maybe can this help to pinpointing the flicker problem have a Radeon HD 5750. BTW your system is very OK for FONV, i played FONV once on a 3,2GHZ single core with an gt220 (very lowend) but playable, only the enb series are stuttering. Not only can the flickering be seen clearly I can see clipping of textures especially if I am looking through a scope. This is a picture of the vanilla game I took near Red Rock Canyon. This is what it looks like when standing still but when i move they flicker. http://tinyurl.com/d7htfhf
  10. Thanks for replying, I was beginning to think no one knew anything though I know if you search for flickering mountains you will find more posts on it but it has not been solved in New Vegas. After searching through a huge amount of forums I decided to just delete everything and re download the game. After playing with my settings and the game being completely standalone the way it was made, it did not help. I thought that it would be gone or greatly reduced in the vanilla version but no. Has Bethesda ever acknowledged this issue as it would be easier for them to fix it than anyone else? I have not given up on this yet and I will continue to look in the farthest places beyond the first three pages of Google.
  11. Hello and let me first start off by saying this is my first time posting on the Nexus forums so if I managed to post this in the wrong place let me know. I recently bought the New Vegas: Ultimate Edition on Steam and the game runs perfectly performance wise. However, there is one game breaking issue for me. Distant objects such as mountains and plants will flicker like crazy when I move. It is incredibly distracting and is game breaking for me immersion wise and it is really bad in places such as Red Rock Canyon. I use lots of mods but at the moment I only had a few including NMC's textures. I have tried a few view distant fixes such as increasing lod textures and editing my ini and some fixes on the Nexus such as Mission Mojave but nothing has really helped. I have tried without NMC's textures and using Poco Bueno as well but it still happens just the same even without a texture mod. I have messed with every setting both in the in game menu, launcher menu, and editing my ini files. The only thing that will affect it is turning my AA and AF off but that only reduces it a tiny bit. This was happening in Skyrim too and I found a fix to that thanks to Gopher but I have looked everywhere and cannot find a similar fix and I never really had this issue in Fallout 3. This is my last idea I have and I hope this is not something that is just not fixable because it happens on my Xbox version too. If anyone has any idea that could help me I will be eternally grateful because this game is awesome! Thanks in advance anything is appreciated. Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit MD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6000+ x2 3GB RAM AMD Radeon HD 6570 I know I don't have the best system in the world but I can run New Vegas on Ultra High settings easy and I am going to upgrade eventually
