    Toss up.
  1. sure. I find this after i did this: Click to view SkyrimSoundTools o well, check it out anyway, makes it easy (kind of) U'd have to edit the ini file, I believe, TacticalAce.
  2. sk8, in case nobody told u today... you're the man. lol
  3. i can start to see the light at the end of the tunnel now...
  4. damn, i just began skimming the surface of audio, so.. not likely. can tell you this though, bsa's are like zip folders in a way, there are unpackers: like bsaunpackerand even one that can pack them now: BSAopt http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=247
  5. Why can't I change the songs! :wallbash:  You can! It's so easy!  1) You'll need the Skyrim Sound Tools Kit: http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6986 & a program/website for transcoding mp3 to wav if you need to do that step. 2) Extract it to your desktop, and notice it's got a folder in there called converting and one labeled Skyrim - Sounds. The converting folder is where you put the wav files you would like turned into xwm format(or vice-versa)- Just hold off moving songs for now. The Skyrim - Sounds folder is where you will extract Skyrim - Sounds.bsa. Let's do that first... ...but not without making a back-up copy of the original Skyrim - Sounds.bsa, so find your install folder: ..\The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim\Data (might be in steam/maybe in Program files) and make a copy of Skyrim - Sounds.bsa in a safe spot. 3) Open up the BSAUnpackerMW.exe or BSAUnpack.exe and hit open. 4) Find your install directory again and open the data folder. In the data folder you'll see Skyrim - Sounds.bsa. Open it. 5) Extract all to the Skyrim - Sounds folder we made earlier. Welcome to your new clusterf0ok... Get familiar. 6) Now if you'd like to hear what file you're replacing put it in the converting folder and double click the xwm to wav bat file, then give it a sec and open your new wav file and enjoy. ...Now you see the light at the end of the tunnel a bit... Fun part - yes that's dry sarcasm. 7) find a song to replace that with, and get it into wav format. There's even a website that will do that for you, g0ogle it. 8) Put the wav file in the converting folder, and doubleclick the wav to xwm .bat file. give it a sec - especially if doing multiple files at once. 9) Rename your new xwm file the samme as the one you want to replace then move it to the corresponding folder in the Skyrim - Sounds folder. 10) Do this until you have all the songs done that you want to do. Note that some of these are sound effects, so careful. Then... 11) Open up the BSAopt you need and put your game to Skyrim, compression to none, and remove all the checkmarks in the settings menu. 12) Hit browse UP TOP, select your Skyrim - Sounds folder and hit the Use this folder button. now give it a minute. 13) Down bottom, type C:\Users\urusernamehere\desktop\Skyrim - Sounds.bsa and hit convert. Fire up a smoke and get ready! 14) Move the new .bsa from your desktop top your ...\elder scrolls v skyrim\data folder and overwrite the current bsa. 15) Start the game, try it out! Tell me the bugs! I've noticed some battle music not working so lemme know if you have any help on this. I also noticed that It's silent for about 30 seconds when the game first starts up, but then, I'm jammin XD Spanks to: Kentoss & lozzer22 http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/456412-xwm-audio-format/page__view__findpost__p__3857703 Ethatron for BSAopt http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=247 Timeslip for BSAunpakerMW http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=12189 Somebody for BSAunpack http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3117 MS for the SDK XD U for the DL and winter for the spare time.

  10. ya, bsaopt is tricky. tried it a coup[le times and got 1 of my songs to work so im blazin 1 and about to go try again since there's hope (i hope XD) tricky tempremental bs. hence the name BSA BullShitArchive. LOL Does anybody have skills in using making the BSAs AND explaining how? 0o
  11. I am able to sucessfully dissect the xwm files and turn wav into xwm, yet cannot get the new files to work in ESV. the stock/vanilla sounds that are repacked into the BSA with the custom songs work fine. I wonder if I'm not using proper sample/bitrates??? I spent half the weekend sorting out some classics and coveting/organizing etc.. now stuck.. doObietime. I'll help in anyway I can though. I should throw a DL up for the 2 bat files and the executable... you simply place them into the folder that you extract the Skyrim - Sounds.bsa into then click on the proper .bat for the cnversion u like to do: wav->xwm or: xwm->wav. there are a few keys to getting the bat to work if u make it from scratch. make sure that ur windows is set to show known file extensions (thru C.P.) and save ur bat as all files in ansii. 0_o. okok I'll get it sorted out and make a dl-able after the sesshhh -_0
  12. lulz u dont install it. and theres no virus. XD but maybe u shouldn't... *shrug*
  13. dammit quoted wrong post.. To fix problems getting it to convert songs to xwm.. Use higher bitrate when/if converting from mp3-wav-xwm- worked 4 me around 40k
  14. PM me with ideas u'd like to see implemented into the expansion of the cities.
