  1. Ok this might sound stupid but check if your Steam is running. If you are using any custom starter like the 4GB you need to have Steam running before it can start F:NV. Otherwise I'd recommend making a copy of your Fallout NV folder, uninstall NV via steam remove all files left in the NV Steam folder and reinstall it. Then copy the old folder back so Steam knows the location and you still have your mods.
  2. Did you run Loot on in? http://loot.github.io/ And I can't make out a merged patch, so if you don't have one get TES5Edit, rename it to FNVEdit and created a merged patch (rightclick a file in the list - and then in the Menu under Other) Other than that, could be anything. Start by removing mods and running the sorting process again and again till you find something that works.
  3. If you have an AMD Graphics card this might be the solution: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/978371-game-crashes-at-start-at-bethesda-softworks-splash-screen/
  4. Hi, watch Gophers vids: What you basically need to do is: 1. Install 1 mod, check if it loads 2. Install second mod 3. Run Loot to sort the load order 4. Run TES5Edit renamed to FNVEdit and create your merged patch (rightclick something in the list, Other > Create Merge Patch) 5. Start the game and see if it works 6. If not start looking at the master file requirements and other problems the mods might have. Maybe try an older version, the latest isn't alway the greatest.
  5. Hi, I'll just bump this and provide some background since Raptr was the problem for me. Raptr isn't some strange software that only few have installed. If you have an AMD graphics card you will most likely have Raptr running as it is part of their Gaming Evolved solution. It is the same as Nvidias Gaming Evolved just more buggy. It can set the optimal graphic settings and provide and ingame overlay. The problem seems to be that Raptr and the Steam overlay start at the same time and then cause each other to crash. Just as an Info, with Raptr I had a 1:5 chance to start Fallout New Vegas, without Raptr I have gotten past the Bethesda screen and loaded the game every time in 3 tries. So what's the solution if you have an AMD graphics card? Open Task Manager, end the Raptr.exe process tree before you start Fallout: New Vegas.
  6. On that unrelated note: My Avast Antivirus picked up the following URL as dodgy: hxxp://n96.hal9000.redintelligence.net/request_content.php?s=39354240623416196&a=9945bac8 Looks like Hal9000 is trying to kill us again.
