  1. And again you miss the point. Your 'helpful suggestion' isn't all that helpful when it doesn't actually address the point of the post you responded to.
  2. Here's a suggestion, and I'm not being snarky. I believe premium is $2.99/mo correct? so, instead of paying Nexus $3.00/mo, put it aside, in 1 year, you'll have HALF of the Lifetime Premium fee. If you can double that to $6.00/mo, you'll have $72 at the end of a year, which (if the price is still the same, I heard it may have gone down), will either be enough for Lifetime, or just short by $3.00 1. That's not the point of this thread, or (I highly suspect) Suspiria's post. (Suspiria, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.) The point is that this new change is badgering to the point of driving off people who have supported and helped pay for this website in the past, and might otherwise have again in the future. 2. If your point here is to help support the website, frankly, encouraging people to go the lifetime premium route isn't nearly as supportive as people who pay by the month, given that most people who would be willing to pay that much money at once are going to be using Nexus for more than the couple years that price is worth. I mean, it's a great deal for those who have the extra money to buy a lifetime premium subscription, but. Once they've used the website for a year or two that they would have otherwise been paying, then they're dead weight just like users who are either free members, or supporters. 3. For someone who isn't affected by this (at the moment at least, although from your posts, I assume you've purchased a lifetime premium account yourself), you're arguing awfully hard against anyone who isn't a current premium member, aka everyone who is affected by this. Like, I've seen your name so many times in these threads already, and I'm skimming and only somewhat keeping up-to-date on every single thread, it's clear that you feel like you have a huge personal stake in this new change, which. Makes no sense. This doesn't affect you. Yet you're making a point of attacking the people who are (quite rightfully, I think) upset over this change. Many of whom (because there are plenty of supporters like myself who are upset by this, as well as current premium users) have helped pay for Nexus in the past, and might have again in the future if not for this badgering and bullying tactic. Why? Why are you attacking so many people over something that doesn't affect you? Why do you have such a clear personal stake in this? Why do you keep (seemingly intentionally) missing the point of other people's posts and responses? Just. Sigh.
  3. Sure, but the thing you're getting for free costs money for the person providing the free thing to, you know, provide said free thing. So if you have to jump through a hoop or two in order to increase the chances that people will switch to premium and keep the site running then you're still getting your free stuff for free, just 10 seconds slower per - still 100% free - mod. Now, do I see those pages or have to wait 5 extra seconds per mod download? No. I bought lifetime premium as a way of saying thank you to a site that has hosted my mods - for free - for over a decade. What they're doing isn't going to get people to pay for premium though, or at least, not enough to matter in the long run. Sure, they might get a single month long premium subscription from some newcomer who doesn't know the site, but. Long time users of Nexus know that premium exists, and those who are willing to spend money to help support the site don't need to be reminded of it every single time they download any file ever in order to do so. Rather, forcibly reminding us in this type of way is far more likely to drive away long time users, the very people who do contribute when they can. For example, I love Nexus, which is why I'm a supporter and not a free member, but the way they've gone about this hit me straight in my (admittedly big) FITE ME button. It makes me want to NOT pay for premium out of spite, because this is just so poorly and tastelessly done.
  4. Posted this in the other thread first, but since this is a longer, more long-running thread, reposting it here too; This is insanity, and it makes me want to stop using Nexus period. Ran into this today and first off, it confused the hell out of me when a simple texture replacement mod that listed zero requirements gave me a pop-up message saying; That is misleading af, because no, the file I was downloading did not require an additional file, it just required me to click through to the 'slow or fast' download page. Secondly, this is insanity. I love this site, have used it for years, and would dearly like to continue using it for more years to come, but if I'm going to get this pop-up and reroute to load a whole different webpage every single time I go to download a single file.... It's just not worth it. It was annoying and frustrating just to download two files from this one mod, having to reload the same Files page multiple times because it rerouted me to another page for each individual file. (Which, really, kind of defeats the purpose of having a single files page with all the files on it, if you're going to route me away from that single page and make me have to go back to it multiple times.) But if it's that frustrating, annoying, and redundant when I'm downloading a single mod.... How bad is it going to be on days when I'm modding a game from scratch, and will likely be downloading dozens or more mods at once? I'm a supporter of Nexus for a reason, because I understand that there needs to be money incoming to help keep Nexus going. I have absolutely no problem with the download cap and other restrictions of being a non-premium member. But I can't afford to be a premium user all the time, because I'm disabled and have been jobless for over three years now as I fight to get what (very little, very little) disability benefits I qualify for in order to survive. I don't need it shoved in my face every damn time I download a file that I'm not a premium member and that that option is available to me.

  6. Dagnabit. I was in the middle of getting DAI ready to play. Fffft. Hopefully it doesn't take too long.
  7. I think it's a site wide thing. I'm having the same trouble with Dragon Age Inquisition mods, as is my wife, and it JUST started.
  8. In response to post #64110961. #64111471, #64111571, #64111716, #64111811, #64111971, #64112271, #64117736 are all replies on the same post. You might just consider grabbing the supporter rank, then. I totally get where you're coming from, given how dangerous ads can be these days. I also get where Nexus is coming from. We are, no matter what we do, costing them money as long as we're using the site. If the 1mb speedcap is really a bother, throw a couple bucks at them, and you'll never have ads again, so long as you're logged in. Otherwise. Eh. Personally, I never even noticed the speed cap. And as nice as having it at 2mb for myself is now, I probably still won't notice it unless I'm downloading something super huge. So. It is what it is? Edit: Also, I know it's not always as easy at throwing a couple bucks at a site. I'm disabled and have no income, so trust me, I get it. But if you get the chance, it might not be a bad idea.
  9. Sounds like a good idea! I like what Anna41 suggested, about possibly having mod makers/authors be able to contribute to the store somehow, if it actually happens. It could be a good way to add more support for the Nexus.
  10. I didn't say this before, and I meant to, sorry, but I really love the way this mod looks. It looks great in game, and it's awesome to see Vault Girl where there used to be Vault Girl.
  11. I don't know if anyone else has run into this, but when I clicked the mediafire link to download this mod, my browser ended up caught by a malware ad: I had to restart my computer to get rid of it. Probably a mediafire issue, but one you might want to think about if you have any other options to host the mod.
