  1. This happened to me in Skyrim, a number of times, but only in the city with the thieves guild. Leaving and coming back ** almost ** always restored it. Was weird, the whole town (inside) with the weird double textures, sometimes z-fighting.
  2. In dragon-born quest "final descent" I talk with guy and his lady friend just inside the mine and How do I fix this. I have almost no mods installed. Just these, and a few graphic terrain re placers installed with Wrye bash. Sky, Dawn, Dragonborn, each unofficial patch, skse (current) SkyUI and chimney smoke. Run BOSS, (current). Main quest completed. Any suggestions please? UPDATE: several other black books have worked fine. Went back to black book in 'final descent' dungeon. Same result... game hangs.... Anyone know how to get info to work around this hangup? -ie quest ID / stage to set, coc to right location in Hema's Plane, etc? Please...
  3. look for articles like "25 best skyrim mods" ... AND, on nexus, look at 100 highest rated mods of all time. ... gopher's vids on youtube are pretty informative and balanced. When looking at a mod on the nexus, read the comments section... and note how many endorsements it has garnerd over how long. (A new mod will have fewer endorsements than a mod thats been out fopr a year, and updated.)
  4. In addition to navmesh, placing 'idle' markers will prompt the NPC to do the 'idle' markers action when standing on it.
  5. I have a similar problem. I'm running CoT and its recommended enb. The sun shines through all textures. I can see it through walls, mountains, etc. Any ideas?
  6. maybe, if yes then just change the doors and have the town door teleport player to your new version of breezehome.(and back)
  7. I am running a mid range PC (i7, gtx670FTW, 12RAM) and found win7 home premium to work fine. As far as graphic mods go, may I suggest you explore using the STEP teams recommendations. Just go to skyrimnexus and search "step" and you will get it. edit; opps, wrong year... sorry
  8. My suggestion would be to make/use power point if someone feels the need for a 'video' type presentation.
  9. Austin,Thanks. I finally found it on the d; drive. It was placed in D:/skyrim/steam.... yada.../fallout... Not sure why its there in a Skyrim folder ... but now that i know where it is.,...i can mod and add the script extender, etc. And I'm glad its not on c: drive so I don't have to deal with additional administrator privileged level hassles. Thanks for help! - elana
  10. I purchased the retail DVD version of Fallout NV ultimate edition. Installed it. Installer never gave me a choice as to where to install it. Vanila game runs OK, so far. (Oblivion and Skyrim are on D: drive.) I cannot find the folder with the NV game anywhere on my c: or D; drives. So I cannot put NVSE DDLs etc in Main game folder (one with fallout nv.exe.) When I look at properties of the GECK and the Fallout NV shortcut keys, they are web URls (steam yada long number). What must I do to get the fallout NV game files placed on my PC? Why cant I find them anywhere on c or d drives? Help please.. driving me crazy.... most mods require NVSE,,, etc. Yes, I checked file options, 'show hidden... yada" C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\fallout new vegas program files has two versions, one is x86 neither has fallout new vegas.
  11. @missing meshes/textures in 'interior' locations. This has happened to me several times. I find that if I quit the game, (without saving), reload, and reenter, the 'problem' interior is now fine.
  12. I'm not a teckie... but I have found that many of the glitches in many vanilla quests are resolved by saving, exiting the game completely (to desktop) reloading, and reentering previous location. For example, I entered DB sanctuary (where Momma is) and most of the statics were gone... weird. I shut the game own, without saving. Reloaded, reentered, all fine. Now when a quest seems to misfire, or not advance, etc., I do just as I described above, however, before re-entering the 'problem' location, I go somewhere else, enter a new 'inside' location, and then travel back to 'problem' location. Re-enter. Usually 'fixs" the quest progression. Worst case if you do this, Fearless leader says "Hey you, get back to work on your contract, yada, yada,... now go to Dawnstar DB Sanct... should be OK. If not (sorry) its beyond me.... (lets hope)
  13. @David Basher Bit flipping with Wyre Smash to switch a file from a BSM (master) to/from a BSP (plugin)? Is using Wyre Smash how modders do this? I have a mod ready to go, except for adding the doors, and the quest journals/letters. (10 plus detailed locations, etc. 6 weeks work, almost full time - I'm retired.. lol) I have wanted to have it a master so players won't have to move out and move back into the palace every time I update the mod. But I haven't figured out how to make a plugin a master. The CK seems to only want to make plugins dependent on the ESM. And all the tutorials and tools, (many seem to be retreaded Oblivion / Fallout tools) are confusing as to which is really safe to use. One says you have to use NET 2.5 I have a more recent NET, required for other programs. Can you run more than one version of NET? The blurb I read said no, you can't. Really frustrating / confusing/ and I'm really not stupid - just - never mind. Might you point me in the right direction? I have a large home / quest /lore mod in plugin (ESP) ready to go the final step before release. But I really want to do it as a ESM. How? Please. @gasit Thanks Gasti i'll install TesNip. There are two versions out there, does it matter which one? Thanks again.
  14. I'm working on my first real Mod. I've noted a number of mods come with a BSM file, for forward compatibility re: updates. How do I make a BSM file out of the base mod? Have searched tutorials, web, nada so far. This noob thanks you.
  15. What I do, when I just want to examine and understand another mod is to open the CK, and load the mod. Be sure autosave every xx minutes is OFF. Then explore anywhere. Don't save at all. Close the CK. Say 'no' to save changes. Now you have looked around, moved items in a mod, to look under the hood, etc. And not 'changed' or 'touched' anything. No new asterisks anywhere. Clean. Easy. No 'other' programs needed.
  16. May I suggest that the tutorials that are pre CK eother be put in a different thread, or have a tag attached, so people can quickly see which are which?
  17. opps .. double post.. sorry... first time on these boards was
