  1. Problem solved. Just had to copy the LW2's skill tree style to add Phosphorus and make it work properly on the Shocktrooper.
  2. Unfortunately I couldn't get too far with the idea.
  3. I -think- there is another way around it. I am not sure how easy it is to edit the AWC ability tiers, but I do have a mod you can choose which AWC ability you will get by paying some supply. So I could add the Phosphorus perk in the tier 1 and see what happens.
  4. While I noticed someone already imported all the XCOM EW/EU armors/weapons there is one thing left to try; bringing the Shivs into the game. I am honestly not sure how complex it would be to bring them in as its own class now that Sparks are a thing, but having just the "skin" as an SPARK option would be nice. I just love those little things, and I am surprised they didn't try to bring it back on LW2, considering they slapped some old stuff from LW1 gear-wise.
  5. Yeah, it does have a secondary weapon. Firestarter is the Shocktrooper's secondary weapon.
  6. Hmm. What if I somehow add the Shocktrooper class to the LW2 mod folder? Would I keep getting that error after renaming the ability?
  7. Yeah, I was pondering trying to find a way around it editing both LW's ini and Shocktrooper's but I am not completely sure what I should do there. And yeah, unfortunately I don't think this forum is too active.
  8. Isn't there like something on the Technical.ini or data that could help with that? Like write a new ini on the shocktrooper folder with the passive information or something? But then again, I think there is some sort of explanation on how to change the mod in one of those notepads, and it uses a different system.
  9. Uh, and what should I do then? For the batmod I just had to create a new .ini based on LW weapons so it wouldn't have an infinite number and followed the correct requirements on LW.
  10. Nope, it didn't work. The perk name is "Missing 'LocFriendlyName' for 'None', and the description is "Missing 'LocLongDescription' for 'None'
  11. Oh, so the ability name is actually "PhosphorusPassive", I wasn't aware of that. Yeah, perhaps it will do. I will give it a try soon.
  12. Yeah, someone did suggest to edit Shocktrooper's XcomClassData, but as soon as I replaced Hit and Run with "Phosphorus" the perk simply vanished from the tree. And I did try to change the ability to affect "secondary weapon", but clearly I need to do something else. I did try to give a glance at the Technical's tree, but it is a huge mess of different things. Unless it also has its own data ini, because the one I was checking was very confusing.
  13. So, I am playing LW2 and subscribed to a few extra classes while playing it, including this Shocktrooper class. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=744114681&searchtext=shocktrooper And while it does work just fine with LW2, I feel like it could use a few changes. Mostly gaining the perk to damage machines(A perk from the Technical class), as one of sides is focused on burning targets. But I never tried to edit LW2 before so I have no idea how to start things up. The only change I did related to XCOM 2 before was something small involving changing weapon damage of another mod! Can anyone please explain what I need to add/change to make this work? The idea is to replace the "middle" perk(Hit and Run) on the last tier of the tree with the perk to damage robotic units.
  14. I know what he said, and that is why I said I probably will need to come up with a hex code(A new code) like they did on LW to unlock Shiv's loadout. That code I posted was -before- I was aware about the hard-coding. And LW involved a lot of different changes, not just one and it really doesn't hurt trying to figure it out. And well, that's your personal opinion, really, and I do respect it. I just really do like Shivs, and I am willing to at least try to do some hex editing to make the changes I am looking for. I doubt this is a process that is going to take just a few days, but I am going to see if it is possible.
  15. Chances are I might need to come up with a hex to unlock Shiv's loadout. That is what they did on LW, as show on this thread, they changed the hex code. https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/944441-shiv-loadout-in-barracks/ Sadly I can't use that as a base, so I will need to do the whole process of looking for the part related to Shiv's loadout using UE explorer.
  16. Yeah, I opened the command promt window with shift+right key and inserted the command you mentioned above. And did the same with the strategy upk, both generated folders named "unpacked" so I guess it worked, as said files are heavier now. Plus I can open them with UE explorer.
  17. Wait...I think I got it, maybe. I opened the command line window and typed what you told me(While in the folder of the decompress+the upk) and received a response after the command. And a new folder popped in there named "unpacked" with Xcomgame.upk inside. Instead of being 3,7 kb, it went to 12,1kb, so I guess it worked?
  18. ...How do I even use this command line? Do you mean like renaming the exe file? Because whenever I open decompress.exe a black box opens for like a second or two before simply vanishing. And no, I didn't install any of the mod tools I intend to use on C at all, I have a folder with the modding tools on D/XCOM tools instead, so only the game is on C, but I copy-pasted the Xcomgame.upk/xcinstrategy into the decompressor folder to try to mod it away from the game folder until it is ready to be used.
  19. Hey guys. So, I am trying to learn how to hex edit UPK files, so I had been following the XCOM(EW) wiki about it. But when it says you need to get Xcomgame.upk and xcomstrategygame.upk decompressed with UPK decompressor, it isn't working for me. I slapped both of those files in the same folder with the decompresser.exe and literally nothing happened. What is going on with it? I even thought it could have decompressed the file anyway, but the format/size remained the same and I couldn't open it with EU explorer. Does anyone know what is the issue with it? I tried to re-download the compressor twice already.
  20. But LW changes a LOT of different things, I am not completely sure if changing loadout is something impossible in the vanilla version, especially because I do see tools made to expand slots on armors that already exist. So the main "issue" here would be finding a way so you can choose which "armor" and weapon the shiv is going to wear and be able to equip stuff on the free slots. I might try to use her hex to unlock the loadout button.
  21. Yeahh. The "problem" with that thread is that she focused her modding on LW, and LW works in a different way compared to the vanilla game. So I am not sure if I understood the loadout changes she made there, especially because it isn't explained step by step as she is doing it for herself instead of being some kind of guide.
  22. I made some changes here, but apparently they aren't doing much. As the keyword for editing Shiv seems to be "Tank", here is what I did. First I changed the properties of Shiv to gain Xp. Then I tried to come up with some kind of skill tree for it, changing the "soldier" part to "tank" instead, to see if it was going to work or not. The stat progression and the skill-tree based on someone who was trying to check with perks worked or not on Shiv. But after testing it out, I don't have access to the abilities of the Shiv yet, so there is obviously some stuff wrong, if not a lot. So if someone could help me, I would appreciate it, and if there is a thread talking about how to edit Shiv's loadout, please send me towards it. I am trying to give it access to small items/large for a different approach. Such as a grenade launcher to keep them effective in combat even during late game. And being able to edit their loadout-Such as swapping between each chassis as if they were an armor.
  23. Thank you. I am already working on the DefaultGameCore of XEM.
  24. I do apologize if there is a page related to this and I missed, but when modding XCOM EW, should I edit its defaultgamecore.ini or should I edit EU's instead? Because both of them have that same kind of file. Again, I am sorry if there is a thread about it and I missed. I am trying to make sure I am going to edit/mod the right file.
  25. So, I am planning to make a run on long war, but I also intended to slap a few other mods and during the time I was checking for some interesting ones I noticed a huge lack of mods related to Shiv. I am not sure if there are many people interested on those little guys, but I really like their design, especially the non-hover version. Either way, I was hoping someone here could come up with a mod for them to gain xp, gain levels and abilities like a normal soldier. My experience with modding is near zero, so I am not sure how I can do it myself, but if someone is willing to guide instead of coming up with it, I can give it a shot too. Please, if you have any idea of how to make this possible, let me know!
