  1. Not having to login for mod manager to load = excellent Having to login just to add a mod from file that was already manually downloaded defeats the purpose. Been trying for 20 minutes to add a file I have already downloaded just for mod manager to tell me I have to be logged in to download files (& won't let me log-in). Kudos on getting rid of the long load times though.
  2. Had an idea (while trying out various combat mods) that would make both arrow & heavy armor types actually matter more than just a couple damage points. Basically the arrow type has to be GREATER than the heavy armor type for it to penetrate. So an irow arrow against iron armor would just bounce off but a steel arrow would pose a threat to the iron armor wearer. Just one of those random ideas that makes sense....and if it's been done, please let me know so I can download, haha.
  3. BOSS isn't foolproof though & actually made things worse for me at one time.....noticing that it simply puts most mods in alphabetical order. (not all but most) I've disabled all mods except random start and will enable one by one until I find the ones responsible for the guard commenting on the hammer I don't have (immersive armors? maybe cause i have it too) & NPC's not walking the roads. I will post what I find. EDIT: "player headtracking" seemed to lag the game more - "dovahkin relaxes too" seemed to cause NPC's to start wandering off the roads and other odd behavior. Never did find what was causing the guards hammer comments and I made sure to run around as many guards as possible. Deactivating & reactivating all the mods one by one seemed to clear it up somehow.
  4. Haha, yeah. I still have to track down whichever mod is causing the guards to comment 'that is one BIG hammer' right from the start of the game. At this point I think I'm going to just have to minimize the number of mods, keeping only the absolute essentials.
  5. No, you're not alone. I've had Skyrim since it's release...600+ hours logged and probably half that amount offline and I've yet to play past lvl 20 for the same reason. Either an official patch will completely bork my saves or updating my mods will. Just happened again actually. Now all the NPC's just stand in the road where they spawn and won't move unless attacked. The game has always run like crap for me also - my vid card is good but my cpu sucks so I'm limited on what can be done about it. I spend more time trying to fix Bethesda games than I actually do playing them.
  6. Been plagued with this problem since day one but now it's gotten even worse all of the sudden. Indoor areas (& small outdoor areas run smooth as butter) but traveling outdoors in Skyrim is terrible. NPC's, grass, etc. will pop up right in front of the player character or even worse BEHIND the character after passing where they would have been (usually when riding a horse). Graphic settings make zero difference from high to low....only Ultra will make it worse. It's obvious to me it's the constant cell loading causing it /CPU bottleneck so I'm looking for any tweaks that reduces CPU load or the way the engine deals with cell loading. Thanks.

Hey all, I've been trying to wrap my head around how to go about creating a simple mod to show the gradual visual effects of radiation increases on the player character by changing the skin texture (& hair style) to various slave textures of The Pitt DLC (for example) I've had limited success by using the makerace function to that of The Pitt races however they show up as regular smooth skins instead of being diseased. The problem really is that I suck at scripting and I'm probably going about it in backwards fashion. If anyone has an easier solution to simply apply new textures on characters when they hit specific rad amounts please clue me in. Thanks!
