Are the Quadro and Tesla series cards better than the Geforce GTX series? I see them listed as "professional" cards, but is that because they're better quality cards, or do they just serve a different purpose, like being more durable. I see a lot of them listed as for workstations, which makes me think quality isn't as big a deal as being durable and being able to run for a long time. For me personally, I don't always need the most high quality graphics (within reason) as much as I want my programs to run smoothly and quickly. A lot of the so called high quality mods don't do anything for me. I see direct comparisons to the stock graphics and yeah, the stock graphics look a bit stretched, by comparison, but they also BOTH look like textures I would see in real life when looking at things like the straw on a house roof or the wood on the side of a house. My last two cards were NVidia and I prefer them over the others. If I have one complaint from all the computer part manufacturers over the last decade it's the way they've gone away from having progressive model numbers. I realize there are a lot of cards that do a lot of different things, the same with processors, etc. but I feel like there ought to be a better hierarchy structure for consumers.

I'm not familiar with the combat profiles, but typically whenever you duplicate something in the CK, the easiest way I've found is to locate it in the object window and then double click on it (as if you were going to rename something in windows.) Then rename it and instead of renaming the item it actually duplicates it. KingsGambit's post definitely has some good stuff as far as specifics on actually editing the combat fields and I'm sure you can find more help on this here.
-
To distill down what KingGambit is saying, it sounds like you're changing the right fields, but the fields available won't do what you want and you need to look into either modifying the existing combat profiles or create a new one.

Can someone tell me how to find the list of topics I'm watching? On the main forum page there's a small box, but it doesn't seem to have all my watched topics in it as near as I can tell.

And I would argue that much like copyright laws, intent doesn't matter much. You were arguing the right to use these works because they fall under fair use. Someone with less common sense reading the thread might just take you up on it. I tend to err on the side of caution myself.

I don't see any point in arguing the merits of what you're saying. I just wish you wouldn't try to parade your ideas for others to ignorantly follow. The law is always going to err on the side of those who created said properties. Since you quoted the first part, I might as well quote the last... From the US copyright web page: When it is impracticable to obtain permission, you should consider avoiding the use of copyrighted material unless you are confident that the doctrine of fair use would apply to the situation. The Copyright Office can neither determine whether a particular use may be considered fair nor advise on possible copyright violations. If there is any doubt, it is advisable to consult an attorney. http://www.copyright.gov/fls/fl102.html

There's no gray area in the law. Intent of the framers, or the violator doesn't often matter either. Just because something seems too silly to convict doesn't mean it can't happen. If you're intent on pursuing something like this, you should do so going into it knowing it's a risk and you better have the common sense to pull the material if you DO get noticed. I already gave 3 examples of when this has happened, and it will happen again.

How to make a 1h weapon sheath on your back
Stemin replied to FishBiter's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
A while back I worked out how to turn a two handed sword into a one hander, and vice versus when nobody wanted to answer me when I asked how to do it. I posted the steps in this thread: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/600056-using-two-handed-sword-as-one-handed/page__p__5478359__fromsearch__1#entry5478359 What I found was that it's basically a variable in the .nif that determines if it's a one or two handed mounting position. The CK allows you to designate whether or not a blade is two handed or not as well. Maybe there's a way you can use the information in that thread to alter the way your weapon works or not. I don't know. As you can see by reading the thread I tried to use a custom .nif to achieve this and ran into problems when I tried to do it halfway. -
I came across these tutorials, apparently from the creator of the Mechanical Dragon mod: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/24587 I haven't been able to make the process work for me, but maybe someone else can. I can create a new creature in the CK with no problem, but when I try to change the mesh I get bs lighting shader errors and complaints that there are too many bones. Still trying to work this thing out using what I learned from Nightasay's tutorials and these tutorials.

Possible to lock in re-scaled bone settings on skeletons
Stemin replied to AlphaWoIF's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Are you only trying to change the dimensions of certain bones or scale the whole thing? If you want to scale the whole thing, I'd shrink the model to fit the skeleton and then scale it back up in the CK. Would probably help if you mentioned if you're using 3ds max, Maya, or Blender, although that screenshot looks like 3ds max to me. -
Even if all your stuff is original, there's still the possibility of copyright infringement. Technically characters, etc. belong to the original authors. There is precedent for this from the authors of Harry Potter, The Pern series and if I'm not mistaken recently, Warner Bros. shut down a LotR Skyrim conversion just recently. Nexus will allow it if your meshes and textures are original as stated above, but real copyright issues are more complicated.

Anything's possible if you're willing to manually merge them in the CK and you have permission of both authors. If you're looking for something automatic, I wouldn't know what might be able to do that. Presumably you're asking because there are conflicts between the two mods where they both replace the same items, otherwise it would work by load order I would guess.
-
Never gonna happen. You just described a mod that allows all bits and pieces from various mods that were even created to replace one another (like mentioning UNP and CBBE) to all work together at the click of a button with no clipping. Even the stock armors can't all be mixed and matched without clipping. Don't believe me try putting the hide gauntlets on the daedric armor and watch your arms disappear, or try putting a redguard headwrap on any number of armors. Best you can hope for is pick the selection you want and maybe someone out there nice might be willing to tweak those mods to fit that one character you design. You'll never get point and click mesh compatibility like you're asking for. Far too much work and far too many variables.

Puffy is easy for me. I have trouble making the stuff fit tightly. All I use is garment maker and the stuff generally comes out puffy already.

I'm not the one who made a big stink about the UI. Read it again. All I said was, "I don't see a problem with the UI because I use a 360 controller like the game was developed for" That's it. And I stand by my response that Bethesda should not be held accountable for developing a system that isn't designed to cater to disabilities. That is a beyond unreasonable request. They don't design hardware, they write software. As for not being "nice" as you put it, I didn't start the nastiness either. That was already here in this thread, except it was directed at Bethesda. All I did was attempt to defend them for making a great game. Don't pretend that the responses to me weren't confrontational (and that's putting it politely) because I don't think a certain someone knows how to frame a response without being confrontational. That's what they've advised throughout the whole thread and its no coincidence they're most active in the debate forum. Here's how this is going to end. I'm going to make an addition to my ignore list, and I'm going to opt to not post anymore in this thread, because clearly nothing good can come of it. If anyone cares that much about anything I said here, that's what PM is for.
