I had this same issue- the game would start, but crash almost immediately while playing the first slide. Deleting the \Documents\My Games\Fallout3 folder and re-running the game fixed it for me.

This also seems to be the cause of a dialogue bug that causes NPCs to stop reading their dialogue during both ambient and player-centric conversations. Weird, but nuking old saves fixed both issues for me.

In response to post #8467923. #8468158, #8468567 are all replies on the same post. There are former Nexus users who've been banned for pretty minimal offenses. I wouldn't be surprised if some of them decided to retaliate.

I'm not a mod author, so the changes don't really affect me, but I'm glad that the Nexus staff continues to improve upon their work.

I use the Nexus for the vast majority of my mod downloads; I feel like I'm having an affair whenever I get something on the Steam Workshop that isn't available here.
