  1. There likely won't be a mod for this. I don't even think a mod is possible. BUT there are guides that allow you to tank your graphics with various settings. Here is a link. Also be sure to look through the PC tweak thread on the official forums.
  2. That's just a minimum patch requirement. This is because the person made it with that version of the game/Mod Maker, so that version (or newer!!) is required. If you're all patched up to the latest, you should be fine. BUT, there are some older mods that have not been updated that might not work, but that could be caused by any number of things. Be sure to read comments on mods to see if users say that it's no longer working.
  3. That person replied to you over a year ago... At any rate, the link was for the DAITools forums. Go there and make a mod request.
  4. The best thing to do is to merge one mod at a time and see if they work in the game. Yes, this is a tedious process, but sometimes necessary to see if there are mod conflicts. I see you have several hairstyle mods. You may be running into conflicts if one or more of the mods affects the same hairstyle. The only thing I can't figure out is why they aren't showing in the list pane in the Manager window...
  5. Have you tried posting in the Tech Support forum for DAI, or searching there? At the moment, I'm going to suggest that part of your problem might be in trying to run both cards. I'd suggest turning off whatever AMD's equivalent of SLI (this is NVIDIA's version) is and running DAI with your better card to see if anything changes.
  6. The two halves of your post don't correspond to each other. Mod Manager does not merge rar files, only daimod files. The mods on the Nexus will be packed into some sort of archive format -- zip, rar, 7z -- for which you need a program like 7zip to unpack. Once you unpack them, you put the daimod into your mod folder and merge from there. You statement that you are "having difficulty getting the mod manager to recognize the RAR files," then followed by problems with 7zip doesn't really follow. Either you were trying to merge rar files, OR you were trying to unpack them and failing.
  7. Rar is a compression archive format, just like zip, so you need a program to extract it, like 7zip. The daimod that you need will be inside. The mods on the Nexus will usually be packed into one of three different formats: zip, rar, or 7z. Once you download the mod, unpack it with 7zip and put the daimod in your mod folder that you merge from.
  8. Version 19 is bugged for textures, it's a known problem. Use version 16 or 17. You can get older versions here.
  9. In response to post #36417095. #36458210, #36566465, #36641935, #36645695, #36720205, #36734620, #36746815, #36750525, #36781000, #36793725, #36821010, #36871470, #36905040 are all replies on the same post. People keep using the word "require," but no one is saying how it is a requirement. Will it be a requirement to download on the Nexus? Will it be a requirement to play this Skyrim mod? How can they enforce such a "requirement"? Everything I've read, especially now that the mod is being built from the ground up with no Morrowind resources, makes it seem like this is just the *honor system*. I WILL buy Morrowind on Steam when and if the time ever comes for this mod, but this mod is the ONLY reason I will be buying it. But again, it's not really a "requirement" if it is the same level of security that porn sites use. "You must be 18 years of age to enter this site." "OK," says the 15-year-old. I'm just trying to be real here. Sure, there are a lot of people that will respect the mod authors' and Nexus mods' wishes and purchase Morrowind for purely ethical reasons. But everyone in this comment thread knows that there are a lot of people who will not.
  10. In response to post #36417095. #36458210, #36566465, #36641935, #36645695, #36720205, #36734620, #36746815, #36750525 are all replies on the same post. I get the requirement for legal reasons, but if it is a mod for *Skyrim*, how are they going to enforce that limitation? How are the Skywind devs, or the Nexus mods, going to be able to determine that the downloader of Skywind *has* Morrowind? The only thing I can think of would be for the Nexus to have some sort of system where you can input your game's number key, thereby giving that Nexus user the ability to download the mods. How will they combat piracy? What is to stop someone from downloading Skywind and throwing it on some torrent? Morrowind was released in 2002, so I'm going to assume that the internet was not required for activation and that all of the keys were attached to the disc. I don't know if this is how it works, but... would they (the Nexus), have to rip open the disc to gain access to the bank of potentially available keys in order to match them with those that players put into their accounts? I doubt they can legally do that, in any case. If this were on Steam I think that would be another matter entirely, since the player could associate their original key with their Steam account, or simply buy Morrowind again (currently $19.99 on Steam for the GotY edition).
  11. I can't be entirely sure from your post, but it seems you don't have a full understanding of how the tattoos in these games work. They all work the same way for each DA game. Let's just take tattoo_Elf_01 as an example. These images are DXT5 with an alpha channel, so they have 4 channels total: red, green, blue, and alpha. All of the different tattoos exist on the different channels of a single image and the game calls on each channel to show a particular tattoo. This tattoo file holds six of the tattoos, three "complete" (one for each rgb channel), and three partial (on the alpha channel, paired with each color). You can actually see this in the DAITools texture preview window if you tick/untick the boxes for each channel. You can unlock native DA2 tattoos if you add these lines to the chargenmorphcfg.xml, which you should already have if you're using other CC mods. <tattoos> <resource name="art\characters\playercharacter\shared\heads\textures\mt_tat_h01_0t"/> <resource name="art\characters\playercharacter\shared\heads\textures\mt_tat_h02_0t"/> <!-- unlocked tattoos --> <resource name="art\characters\playercharacter\shared\heads\textures\mt_tat_d01_0t"/> <resource name="art\characters\playercharacter\shared\heads\textures\mt_tat_d03_0t"/> <resource name="art\characters\playercharacter\shared\heads\textures\mt_tat_d04_0t"/> <resource name="art\characters\playercharacter\shared\heads\textures\mt_tat_d05_0t"/> <resource name="art\characters\playercharacter\shared\heads\textures\mt_tat_e01_0t"/> <resource name="art\characters\playercharacter\shared\heads\textures\mt_tat_e02_0t"/> <resource name="art\characters\playercharacter\shared\heads\textures\mt_tat_e03_0t"/> <resource name="art\characters\playercharacter\shared\heads\textures\mt_tat_e04_0t"/> <resource name="art\characters\playercharacter\shared\heads\textures\mt_tat_pmta_0t"/> <resource name="art\characters\playercharacter\shared\heads\textures\mt_tat_pmtb_0t"/> </tattoos>
  12. There are a few mods that alter Blackwall's beard... Just do a search for "Blackwall" on the DAI Nexus and you'll find them.
  13. Use the DAITools Suite Loader to get the most up-to-date version of both the Mod Manager and the Mod Maker. Or you can download each individually here. There are guides as well.
  14. If you are looking for images, use Mod Maker 16 or 17. Images are borked with 18 and 19. For ebx, use 19.
  15. You would have to make an edit of the schematic itself to have whatever stats you want at any given time. But it sounds as if you want the stats on the schematic itself to scale dynamically as you level, which is not possible.
  16. I've learned a lot this way, myself. You don't extract the daimod itself, but you can look at the changes and extract those changed components the same as you would any other of the game assets with the tools. Open up the tools and import the daimod of your choice. File > Import. To look at the changed files, go to Tools > Bundle Preview. In the dropdown list, select 'Show only Modified.' Also tick the box on the right for 'Show only Modified.' On the left, select the bundle you want to look at, and then you can see which files are changed by that particular mod on the right, such as textures etc. You can then compare with the default version of the files. Also, don't forget to look at the DAITools forum for tutorials.
  17. Use 7-zip to unpack rar files. It is a free, and very reliable, unpacking utility that handles zip, rar, 7z, and a bunch of others.
  18. Sorry to be a buzzkill, but they already likely know there are romances in the games and will try looking for those. Mods only work on PC, and this mod will only work on the PC you control, so there is nothing to stop them from still playing the game on someone else's console or computer. Additionally, they will probably be able to figure out it's a mod and simply turn it off (that is, merge a blank file), while you are not around and then restore it when the play session is over. Also, your hope of some sort of lock is a futile one. All three DA games have been rated M (Mature, 17+), and they have been getting more explicit with the language and sexual content as the series has gone on. I doubt it will change. You can try asking on the DAITools forum, but I don't think you will get anywhere. There are also dirty jokes, banter, a reference to sex from Blackwall during an emo moment, the elements in Dorian's personal quest, and the possibility of Dorian and Iron Bull hooking up and the player asking about it. You won't be able to censor everything.
  19. Sliders are a collection of screenshots of the in-game character creator that you use to recreate the face of the character the person posted. So you download the folder, unzip it somewhere, and look at the screenshots while you are using the CC and copy the position of the sliders. If the person had mods also listed, you will need to also use those mods in order for the character to look like the screenshots.
  20. Forums don't work that way. Someone is trying to help by asking your for more specific information. Post the mod you're referring to so you can get more detailed help.
  21. You shouldn't follow instructions on some mod for using the Mod Maker. Mod instructions are for using a mod only, not the tools that made it. Look to the official DAI Tools forums for specific help. Troubleshooting post here. In your case, issues extracting are likely because you need to install SlimDX, which is here. Download the .net 2.0 version, and the .net 4.0 version for whichever OS you have (x64 for a 64 bit OS, x86 for a 32 bit OS).
  22. In response to post #29001134. But sometimes the user really wants to donate without ever being asked or solicited because they like the mod so much and, in some cases, can't imagine playing the game without it. I think there should be an avenue for those people.
  23. I certainly don't envy the Nexus folks for trying to wrangle all of this together: seek a solution that would appease both the mod author and user (potential donor) without also risking the wrath of the game companies. The main issue I have is a hypothetical one. I understand that mod authors develop mods in their free time and also have to deal with a real-world job (or school, or both), families, and so forth. Presumably these folks get into modding a given game because they enjoy the game very much and like making new things for it. This is all well and good. The problem I foresee is when a user likes a mod enough to donate, but then down the road the author stops development, or updating, either because real-life issues took over, or because they simply got burned out of that particular game and want to move onto something else. Sometimes these authors might be working on giant projects that are just halted (such as retexturing all of Skyrim), and the user that donated may wind up feeling cheated, and this may sour them from donating to some other author in the future. This may be lambasted as the user feeling "entitled," and perhaps that's true, particularly as this is all optional content. But I do wonder whether this is a mental barrier that prevents some people from donating in the first place. I think most of us have experienced this problem: we start using a mod, like it a lot, and then notice that the author has stopped development for whatever reason. Most of the time, depending on what the mod is, this isn't an issue. But it is particularly relevant with a game like Skyrim, which continues to be popular and gain new players despite being four years old, even though many of the mods that were created during its height are no longer being worked on. The other problem I foresee is with enforcement of original content, which becomes more important if money is going to be changing hands. How are the Nexus staff going to police ALL of the mods to ensure that every single one is using original content, or at least NOT using content ripped from other games (for example, putting Witcher content into Skyrim)? There are also presumably copyright issues with mods that, say, put the famous Lord of the Rings weapons into a game. How is the Nexus going to deal with all of those things? Will there be an approval process for each mod? "This mod is OK because the author used their own textures, but this one is not because they're using copyrighted appearances and/or names"? The approved mod gets their donation button, but the disapproved mod does not?
  24. I happily and extensively modded both DAO and DA2 and am considering jumping into the DAI mod scene, but I do have some concerns and questions I hope some can address. I dislike that the only way to mod DAI is by cheesing the patch system since there seems to be a high potential for problems. However, I am willing to overlook that if there isn't a potential to break my saves. If I download the mod manager and load up some mods, will my saves break if a new patch is released? I don't have a problem with disabling mods when a patch is released, but I do want to make sure that I will still be able to actually play until the mod manager is updated. Thanks in advance.
  25. I've been a member of the Nexus for a few years now, BUT I also took advantage of the Steam summer sale by picking up Skyrim, and then proceeded to download a bunch of mods for that. I wasn't too pleased by the slowness of the file servers, and have since noticed an increase since the sale ended. Reading the reason for it now makes it completely understandable, and I also noticed that the site itself had 100% uptime (every time I went to it, which was quite a bit) during the sale. Awesome job guys, keep on truckin'. :D
