  1. for Cass just use JIP Companions Command & Control (CC&C). There is a "Force hire" button you can use. Plus if I remember correctly it doesn't effect her dialogue, so just actually start her companion script when you get to the crimson caravan.
  2. Not off of me they aren't. The games were a gift (as are many of my games, and my Xbox live membership, and my anime DVDs........ My family is very giving) THIS. The atmosphere and world-space of the FO3 is what got me hooked on the series. I would count FNV as my favorite, but until I am able to get lost for real life hours doing nothing but exploring for random crap (and good screenshots) then I cannot say I like it better. If a good experienced mod team (or more than one team) would would fix the world-space, I could recreate the atmosphere with EMB and lighting mods. Until then just use TTW, get the best of both worlds. EDIT: As for the whole rebuilding thing... Remember that the Enclave had a small town surrounding a military base (before those NCR commie's destroyed it), the NCR has 6 (if i remember correctly) cities and around 30,000 - 40,000 thousand citizens (just because you do not see the rebuilt areas does not mean they are not there). On the whole Obsidian vs Bethesda thing... They both state that they plan to eventually make new games. Obsidian says that the unwritten rule is that Bethesda gets the East Coast and they get the West Coast. I just hope that someone makes a game on the Midwestern BoS. Especially since we know they still exist (from comments in the recent games mentioning them), but since the retcon of Tactics we do not know what state they are in. If they do make a game on them, I hope they are somewhat similar to the Brotherhood seen in Tactics.
  3. Remember though... You do not have to see everyone. Maybe only 3 or 4 important story NPCs would have dialogue. All the rest could be generic scenery/targets.... for simplicity.... 500 then it grew to over 2500 then the disaster brought the population down to less than 350 (or the same numbers as before but the disaster killed all but about 350.. either way). So then the it the remaining population fractured and started fighting among themselves. That way we could have similar stories and similar guerilla tactics, but still work in a cool larger battle of some kind (if need be). Or just use your story with numbers in the low hundreds....
  4. From what I have seen posted that is fine....... However I got into a childish argument (I was being childish) about a the way a certain Halo ODST armor project was being handled. I then said that I would just post a re-texture to my liking. I was told that I would be banned. Then I made it clear that the re-texture would still require you to use the original mod. I was then told that it didn't matter, it was still the same deal. I think this is pretty strange as it contradicts the whole site itself (hosting modified files of video-games with or without the approval of the license holders). However, I was then later told that the previous statement is incorrect. So to get a clear picture you probably just need to contact the staff directly in an e-mail.... Or risk getting contradictory answers. Edit: Dizzaster posted while I was typing. He seems to clear up some of my confusion
  5. It sounds like that is what he wants...... I totally forgot about those.
  6. WHAT IF? If you go to the moon, you are not going to just send science teems, Miners too. Think of all the metal up there. Then you are going to need a small security force to keep upwards of a thousand miners in check for long periods. 500 scientist 500 or less security 1000 miners 500 maintenance and other staff 500 or less other civilians and U.S. Soldiers protecting a major U.S. asset. So about 3000 people. on a moon colony (not a just a moon outpost). "When the bombs fell we thought it was the end. But then we realized that our mining division made us practically self sufficient. All we had to do was find ways to brake down the materials into what we need. And for a scientific research complex that almost rivals Big Mountain that would be easy." "The problems came later, we were doing too well. We were doing so well that we ended up over twice the maximum capacity of 3000. We ended up becoming overpopulated and unable to sustain ourselves. That is when people started to form factions. People just wanting to live like us, Some just disgruntled colonist (PLOT!), other factions became very hostile outcast (enemies to shoot BTW)." "One of those factions even tampered with one of our power reactors and caused a catastrophic "insert reason for moon split here" and over halve of us were killed(more plot!) That is when we decided that it was not safe to isolate ourselves anymore, so we sent the distress signal and hoped for the best. So history................ -So about 3000 people. on a moon colony (not a just a moon outpost) when the bombs fell. Doing very well -then after a few generations that number was at least double at around 6000. Very overpopulated -That is when the strain really got to people, and someone ended up causing moon crack. Now the pop is in check less than 3000, but the colony itself has become unusable because of the event. you go there, you save the people for a short term, then you go back (after confirming to the NCR/BoS that there are useful assets on the moon), you link the moon to a teloporter system (like the one you can use to get to and from BigMT)
  7. I like the quotes, If it was in sarcastic (Italics) too, it would have made the statement better Edit: Just trying to keep banter going
  8. If someone could script a real ranged weapons system into the Creation Engine (Skyrim). I would say that a fan made fallout Mod game would be best (as a mod for Skyrim). The Project Brazil's Team could work on the main quests, Willow's and Niner's Teams could work on companions, Etc... Basically it would be a giant Fallout project that and participation from the best teams would be essential. With that said, the lack of a Ranged combat system isn't the only problem, There are also textures and meshes to deal with (although the textures could be ported over in a TTW style port). We would also need an entire team devoted specifically to landscaping (however no mod team other than Project Brazil's Team comes to mind for that).
  9. This problem seems to happen off and on at seemingly random. I would guess it's a server error. Just write down the mods you want and try again an a day or two.... Usually it will be fixed by then.
  10. OOoooo Yeah that would make an awesome quest mod. We could also come up with an interesting idea on "how" the disaster took place.
  11. So its not "Old world military" its "Enclave Military" (as the "Old US" military never developed Enclave level power armor) Still amazing........... and fits perfect with my Enclave playthrough that I am attempting to do ("attempting" because my computer keeps overheating for some reason). I suggest you give the normal guards and normal people armor like this..... http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/39689/? -If I remember correctly the vest on that particular armor linked still has NCRCF on the back.... but if someone knows how to do simple texture work, that could be fixed.
  12. Sure I understand what your getting at and you can definitely fake it. Essentially it involves using a token and a armor addon as a facade of your bot, worn on your person. I could put that together for you as a smaller eyebot, which I think is a superior solution to a spider bot, but if you locate a working spider bot on nexus I guess I could do that too. If there isn't one, I believe OWB has some meshes like a spider bot, and we have the skleton for the spider bots in the NV BSAs so it might still be possible...but I probably wouldn't want to get wrapped up in that right now. You could also add a script that would simulate you remote controlling the bot (changes your POV, allows you to move the bot around etc). Then it could function something like a little stealth/scout/recon bot, as well as attacking. I had something similar in mind for a specific mission in my Sunset mod through a heavily irradiated reactor core's cooling vents/tunnels. Oh, your Sunset mod! How is that going? I was thinking that you could take a scorpion bot from OWB and shrink it, then remove the tail. Add a shrunken turret bot (like in the BoS bunker) to the top of it. Then have an inventory item that activates/recalls it.
  13. Is this thing still happening? I might have told Dave and just mentioned you (I thought it was the other way around though), something like "I never understand how you guys (I didn't specify names, however both you and Dave were active in whatever thread this was in) have so much time invested here but no profile pictures" Who ever it was responded with something similar to, "never thought about it"
  14. I was skeptical when I read the OP. However I like the idea of a of eccentric moon colonist that are still in some way connected to the old world. This would obviously be a science colony, so uncommon tech would be seen as well. What if its its a distress signal that is initiated by a ZAX computer. It reaches the NCR or the BoS, who then mount a search and rescue operation. when they get to the colony, they find cryo pods with scientist and personnel (who went into stasis to keep from starving after the bombs fell, then they told the ZAX to send a distress signal when it noticed sufficient tech advancement on earth.
  15. http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/55704/? There is that.... its a shotgun, however a few edits in the geck can change that
  16. I know that it exists, I just do not remember where, I am looking for a sword made from a lawnmower blade. It looks the same as the shishkabob's blade but with no fire (and its not attached to a vacuum).
  17. i think a basic animal will be far more common to see after a atomic war then lets say a motorcycle. especially in the settings fallout is represented. I would have do disagree, especially with the fact that both major surviving groups of animals (Brahman, Bighorners) are never ridden because they do not seem to take riders well. But it isn't hard to believe that a few people can get a motorcycle up and running once in a while. Especially when so many are just sitting around to scavenge off of.
  18. I was thinking...... Just alter the boomers some in the geck (giving them old world military clothing "like the pics I linked", changing the name from "Boomers" to "Grunts" "Servicemen" or "Marines", and giving them a more standardized weapon's loadout). And adding some generic alerted boomer companions to the barracks.
  19. Do old world military..... http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/38463/ http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/US_Army_combat_armor http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/384 http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/US_Army_General_outfit25/?
  20. 1st, Is that from Pimpmygun? 2nd, its cool looking.
  21. It isn't nuts at all, I actually do something similar (however I never use tactical vests as they are not lore friendly, I go for shoulder pads and NCR style armor plates, or just combat armor itself with some bandoleer slings). Normally use a loadout of 2 primary weapons, 1 sidearm, one tactical weapon (pulse gun, stun gun, flare gun, etc...), a melee weapon, and a few frags. Then I use mods like Project Ultimatum, CC&C, and ECNVE (standard, TSC, or Marine) to add to the tactical feel. Then I use Wasteland Defense and or RTS (plus other quest mods) for encounters.
  22. or, OR, OR, You could save us the trouble by typing it down here in the forum thread.
  23. Are you kidding? There isn't a higher chance of looting at the end of the Independent. In the Independent you take control of the Securatrons you do not destroy them. The securatrons have been keeping people in line for years, you think they are not going to do their job because the leadership changed? Not only that, The 3 families still have a motivation to keep crime down, if they don't they will lose their lives of luxury.
  24. Well lets talk about the courier for a moment. What if he was in charge, with a friendly relationship with many/most of the factions in the Mohave. 1, Protection: Now that the paranoid House isn't around to keep the citizens from starting their own strip policing force, it is now possibe. Maybe it would use willing members of the Kings and Charmin. The surrounding towns can be protected by the desert rangers and militia forces. 2, Defense: Obviously Securatrons would be a major factor in military defense. There are also the boomers (and their bomber) that would jump at another target to destroy. Plus around 100-150 Mohave BoS members (who could probably be persuaded to maintain the strip and dam). Maybe you could persuade the Enclave Remnants to help protect vital people [like the courier, cass (who will probably be in charge of trade), etc...] 3, Trade: With the NCR gone, the Crimson Caravan and the Gun Runners are not going to feel the need to stick around. That means that the courier probably is going to need to start is own trade system. I would say that the best way to do this would be to incorparate any local/roving traders into a system of some sort 4, Health: With the NCR gone, the followers would now be the only large faction with a medical focus left in the Mohave. I would say that giving them full access to the strip and partial access to the L38 could lead to a healthy relationship. 5, Economy: Trade with other factions (like the NCR) would be hard at first. However I believe that if the courier agrees to keep supplying power to NCR territory via the dam, The may not just shoot down a truce or trade agreement of some sort.
