  1. I know, there's that big epically awesome portable tent mod, and also that epic build your own camp mod... But I'm looking for something really simple and it doesn't seem to exist. Just a plain portable campfire (preferably one I can hotkey) to place for cooking and sleeping with the Home on the Range perk out in the wilderness. I got the perk that lets me sleep next to campfires, but it's rarely useful, most campfires are near places I could sleep without the perk and out in the places I need it, I can't find one.
  2. Sorry I had to create a new account to use the Nexus Mod Manager because I had temporarily lost access to this one (forgotten the name). The mod was Thieves Guild Enhanced - Guildmaster Vault It changed the vault room into a really nice room, with several custom containers, a full compliment of crafting gear, and a back door through a well added behind the stables outside Riften (with two keys, just in case the front door ever wound up locked). It also added a smelter to the training room, and a few other items. I worked really hard on it :( Actually scratch that, it just wasn't showing up for some reason when I ran a search. It's showing up now.
  3. This fix causes my game to crash is there any other way to fix it?
  4. Racism is already rife throughout the game. A lot of Nords have a problem with elves, practically no one trusts Kajhits, Redguards and Imperials are looked down on as outsiders and intruders in Skyrim, Bretons generally think they're superior to everyone else, so do the Thalmor, oh and let's not forget the Argonians, they're viewed with a mixture of objectifying sexual fetishism (at least if some of the books are an indicator) and dismissed as inferior, untrustworthy, and stereotyped as Skooma addicts and merchants. Oh and the Orcs, the Orcs in Skyrim are generally racist against Non-Orcs and follow a strict code of Daedra worship, and Orcs are generalized as blacksmiths and warriors. Ever play an Orc? I haven't because they're so damned ugly, in fact I went through purging their holds, because I'm playing a racist High Elf with an affinity for the Thalmor right now. So yeah I'd say racism is in the game. There's less sexism because in the world of the Elder Scrolls strong women are generally celebrated and more is expected of women. Weak women are looked down upon in the land of Skyrim, so are weak men, and weakness in general.
  5. Ahem... A strong Nord Woman could rip your groin out through your chest. You know that right? Do you realize that there have been ancient societies with warrior women by the way? The reduction of females to the roles of sex slaves and domestic house pets mostly spread out of Mesopotamia and Rome, though it was pretty common in some eastern cultures. The Germanic, Nordic, and Celtic peoples generally had diverse roles for women, delicate women were considered undesirable for many "barbarian" clans because weak women were more likely to die during child birth and have weak children. And lest I checked, in the world of Elder Scrolls, strong women are celebrated, so why should they be weak?
  6. This. Even just vanilla, before I downloaded any mods, Breezehome was my main home due to the proximity of the blacksmith. Sure I had to climb up to Dragon's Reach to enchant anything, but even with pretty much all the other houses and most of the factions, this humble shack with a straw thatched bed and messy shadows was the only home really fit for crafting. I'm trying to learn to mod so I can add basic crafting gear and a bed to the vault in the Thieves Guild, replacing the empty chests with a couple of empty safes and chests. That way it will still be lore friendly, but when those doors open it will be like the guild just unlocked. The grindstone is right there, an enchanting table could be added next to the alchemy table, and that little room could easily fit everything but a smelter. If I can figure out trap doors I might even try to add a trap door there that leads out to the stables. But as it is, I'm just now learning to move the camera in the Creation Kit, so no promises, I'm just amazed no one else has done it.
  7. There's currently a mod that adds a basic forge to the Midden under the college in Winterhold. The Enchantment Cleanser and Midis Magic also add a couple of things, and I started to appreciate just what could be done with the place. If someone added a couple of straw beds, put an essential always sleeping NPC in the cage (there's a little prison with a cot), and just a little extra basic crafting gear, the Midden could be a great Vampire HQ.
  8. I'm hoping to issue a faction outfitting challenge to modders, I posted a thread about it here. The idea is to make Guild HQ's actually function as HQ's, rather than as spaces you pass through a couple of times just to complete quests. By adding a basic outfit of crafting equipment and storage that can be plugged into other mods or just played vanilla, becoming a Guild Master, Archmage, or Listener would actually seem to matter. The way it is now, once you become archmage for instance, there's no reason to ever return. You may as well just loot everything, sell it, and forget you even have a room there. That could be turned into a valuable home with just a few simple additions.
  9. Not suggesting anything big and fancy, no complete overhaul, no extra rooms, nothing likely to glitch and bug out. I challenge modders to add a full outfit of basic crafting equipment to guilds. An anvil, workbench, grinding stone, tanning rack, enchantment table, alchemy table, smelter, and basic storage of needed, to all the faction HQ's. Everything but the smelter can fit in a relatively small area with little hassle. The Dawnstar Sanctuary could use some consolidated crafting equipment. The Thieves Guild desperately needs some crafting gear. The Bards College and Mage College could use some crafting improvements as well A trapdoor that leads to the skyforge in the Companion's Guild master chambers would be great for this, since there's already an outfitted skyforge and map marker mod. There's already an improved Mage College but you have to change 4 cells to reach the forge, it'd be awesome if there were just a full crafting station in the Midden with a teleporter in the Archmage's Chamber. Additions like these would be compatible with most overhaul mods as long as the added tools didn't occupy the same space, and it'd make becoming an Archmage or a Guild Master more functional, Headquarters will work more like Headquarters and less like thoroughfare.
  10. Stormcloak Light and Heavy armor sets, swords, shields, and bows equal to Imperial counterparts, that don't look like generic guard armor. I know about the Tartan mod but it's not really the same thing.
  11. Got one more. A Mount Anthor Word of Power bugfix. I know I'm not the only one with the issue because people have uploaded youtube videos and posted comments about the glitch on Xbox, but I'm not sure how many have had the problem on PC. But for some reason, when I approach the wall, even when I'm on a quest to do so, I hear all the sounds I'm supposed to hear up to the quickening static but I never get the word, it just makes that static perpetually. It'd be nice if there were some button I could push or something to force the script, I tried finding answers on how to do it by console to no avail.
  12. Got another. My Beast Form (werewolf) power vanished from my menu. How about an NPC or Item with the power to add it back, no matter what?
  13. I've got one! All crafting gear at all Guilds & Houses, IE an anvil (no need for a whole forge where one won't fit), tanner, workbench, grindstone, alchemy and enchantment table in the Thieves Guild, Mage College, Bard's College, that hard to spell house in Windhelm where everyone insists on using the secret room thus creating mod incompatibilities that force you to choose between enchanter gear and a smithy (most other houses are set) I'm amazed no one has done that yet.
  14. Oh wow, is someone really recreating Morrowind? That's a massive project if ever there was one.
  15. So far there are mods to silence dog barking and adjust the sound. But I found the dog barking endearing at first. Until I noticed that the dog unrealistically barks constantly at regular intervals when idle. So I was wondering, is it possible to make the dog simply bark way less often? That is, not to mute it or make it so silent that it breaks immersion, but just, less... barking... :(
  16. I'm on the Quest "Find the Word of Power in Mount Anthor Glitched", I'm at the stone wall, it's playing the music, I hear the sizzling, but no words of power. I've tested and the other words of power activate when I approach them, just not this one. I'm really not sure what's wrong with this playthrough I've never had this problem before. Anyway, I have no earthly idea how to get the stages for the quest, or even the quest ID (I did a websearch and it came back "FreeformHighHrothgarA" but I'm not sure that's right) I need to use the console to advance the quest, can anyone help me mod this save?
  17. You know it dawns on me, that everything could fit in the treasure vault. And that if a smelter, anvil, enchanting table, and workbench were the only things in the vault, it would also be lore friendly. Especially if there were weapon racks and armor mannequins to suggest there was once leet gear in there.
  18. It is lore friendly yet sleeping animation might be buggy since a victim could sleep on any surface, Not sure though :psyduck: Maybe it could command them to seek out the nearest bed and sleep for a set amount of time? Thought I think it might be possible for them to just be knocked out on the floor like they're sleeping on a cot.
  19. I know I have a bunch of NPC's using the NPC Wander Script around my castle, and unfortunately they all keep changing out of their cool armors into loin cloths and rags.
  20. Pretty basic idea I think, given it can already be done by console. Essentially (pun) I'd like to toggle NPC essentialness through a dialogue option, I think a lot of people would find that useful for dealing with certain cannibals or getting rid of certain poorly dressed barbarians who want to marry me, say upon a shrine to an evil goddess.
  21. I think a great effect for it would be to make NPC's sleep. Imagine how useful that would be for a vampire, to have a staff that could command the local blacksmith to take a nap. Also a sleep effect would be VERY Lore friendly.
  22. Also workbench, smelter and enchanting table... Turns out there wasn't an enchanting table after all. What the guild really needs is an anvil to craft armor on, a smelter to smelt it down, a workbench to upgrade it, and an enchantment table to enchant it. Maybe that and turning one of the NPC's into a merchant
