  1. Back when I was in the service, (early 80's) we were eating K-rations from the korean war........They were still edible. (I won't call them 'good' though....) They were in steel cans, painted olive drab. (of course....) Even the crackers were still crispy and fresh. Granted, only about 30 some odd years old.....
  2. See if running it as Admin makes any difference. Might also try running it in compatibility mode for win 7.....
  3. I think there was an update to the CS as well......
  4. I've had that same issue in Vault 95. There is a bunch of folks in there, and if I shoot the wrong one, I am instantly back at my desktop. If I don't shoot any of them, it will also eventually crash. I tried staying away for quite a while, hope a 'cell reset' would take care of it, but, nope. Vault 95 was simply off limits for me. I find a selection of threads on this topic, dating back to shortly after the games release. I have not found a solution for it anywhere though.
  5. Legendary edition? OR SSE? Sounds like a missing master crash.......
  6. There is this one, supposedly under fences and rails.... Northland Diggers is rumored to have them as well.
  7. Isn't it ok as long as you don't publish it? I wanted to convert a set from pubg for personal use only. According to theory, nope. Beth doesn't like that. I have no clue how PUBG feels about it. That said, if you can do it yourself, and do NOT share it, I doubt anyone would have a problem with that. :) As for how to do it? I haven't the faintest. :D
  8. Why do I get a notification that I am leaving steams website when I click on the link?? I wasn't aware I was ON steam......... Ah, part of the URL that doesn't show up in the text of the message..... Interesting. (and confusing.) Here is the authors Nexusmods profile.
  9. Yeah, I tried that, didn't work as planned. I just unpacked the entire archive, dropped my file into the correct spot, then repacked it. That seems to have worked. Now, it appears, I also have to create the directory structure in my data files folder, so I can add the new item to the game... I am guessing I need to create the static first, and then do the 'constructable' object part? Edit: Yep, that worked. Object is ingame, and appears to work as I wanted. :) Awesome.
  10. I am attempting to add a new wall piece to the retaining wall section of homemaker, trying to put the nif in the archive, however, archive2 does indeed add it, just not in the right place. Do I need to extract the entire archive, add my file to the extracted folder, and then repack it to get it to show up in the right spot?
  11. Exactly. I am thinkin' that even after a year or two, most cigarettes would be unsmokeable...... They would taste terrible, and rip your lungs out by the roots. (which would certainly encourage folks to quit smoking..... ) I could see Cram lasting 200 years though..... Canned food will last a very very long time, but it doesn't mean all of them will be ok. It's possible for food to last in can for 200 years, but it's advised to cook the food first regardless to make sure you don't get poisoning from bacteria in it. Another thing that is odd is that everyone wants the fallout world to look crappy and dead. While the truth of the matter would be the complete opposite. After 200 years everything would be lush and green and overgrown with lots and lots of plantlife. And water wouldn't be muddy or dirty. It would be crispy clean because there's no polution for 200 years. Yep, after 200 plus years, the world would look DRAMATICALLY different than how it is currently portrayed. There wouldn't be ANY buildings left...... if they had been made from concrete, there may be some shells left, but, anything metal or wood, would be long gone.
  12. Yep. Looks like a good candidate. :)
  13. I think you need a plugin for 3ds, in order to do those. They are also version specific, and they aren't out there for all versions....
  14. That's going to be processor, and a vid card...... Go with the i7 9700 of some flavor. (k means it is unlocked, if you want to overclock, F means no onboard video on the chip.) Clock speed is going to be what you are looking for. Faster the better, if you overclock, make sure it's a K model. Vid card.... Meanest you can afford. RTX 2060 or better. No such thing as too much Vram. More is better, a lot is just enough. :D
  15. What country are you in? Wow. That system board will support 9th gen processors as well. (though, a bios update may be required.) How much money do you want to spend?
  16. Think I would look at a meaner processor first. Should still be able to find 8th i7's for reasonable prices. Ram is good. Meaner video card (with more vram) might be in order as well.
  17. I can see how that would work pretty well. :) Maybe I will give that a shot. I haven't gotten around to killing Kellogg yet, in this playthrough......:D

  19. Everything in the game is distributed via leveled lists. There are something that are 'set in stone', but, not very many. Very powerful items SHOULD be hard to find, and rare. It would be possible to configure the lists to reflect that. Of course lower-tier stuff is going to be more common, as are pipe weapons, as opposed to things like the 10mm pistol, hunting rifle, et. al. Considering no one has made new ones for more than 200 years...... one would think they would be EXTREMELY scarce by the time the player emerges from the vault...... Likely firearms in general would be rare..... and melee weapons, bows, crossbows, etc, would be far more common. The problem is, everything is distributed by leveled lists. :D Which means, there are a LOT of them. So, the 'unleveled' project would be tedious in the extreme, and probably rather hard to balance out..... As it is, in my current game, I think I am just over level 30, and I have a STACK of Mossberg shotguns..... (modern firearms) probably a couple dozen. I can't count the number of AKM variants that I have. I could probably outfit an entire army, with nice weapons and armor....... In a world where no one has made a new firearm for more than 200 years.... that just seems kinda odd. :) But of course, FO is about firearms, and fight with/over them. :D So, I don't expect to ever see such a mod come about. :D
  20. Try simply renaming all your ini files, fire up the game launcher one, to regenerate them, do the archive invalidation thing again, and see if that doesn't solve the issue. (I think it should..... its kind a shotgun approach, but, I know how tedious playing got QUICKLY when I was loading every three seconds.
  21. Might be better to post in the thread for this mod, on the Mod download side of the site.
  22. Sorry. :) We'll stop now. In your case, I think about the only choice you have, is to go back to a save that actually works, and alter your save habits a bit. So far as I know, there aren't any tools to "fix" savegames. There is Resaver, but, all it does is remove orphaned scripts. (I think....) You could try it, if you haven't already, not like it can make things any worse for you.
  23. BoS wipes out ghouls/supermutants/raiders for their own reasons. They don't care about settlements. At all. They are a potential source of resources that they don't have any problem taking at gunpoint. The only person that *might* offer them a fair deal is the player. And the player pays for it out of his own pocket...... he doesn't get reimbursed for his expenses. (so far as I know.) BoS wants tech. That's it. Ostensibly they are keeping it from being 'exploited', which I suppose could be a good thing, if the tech is simply designed to kill as many people as possible, as quickly as possible..... But to them, it doesn't matter. The hoard ALL the tech they find, and do nothing for anyone else. Now, bear in mind, I dislike the BoS considerably, to the point that I have never played thru the BoS ending.... so, they may have some points in their favor by the end of their part of the story, but, so far, I haven't seen/heard about it.
  24. I think I remember a mod that makes momma murphy younger, and cuter. :) (but still with the same voice......)
