A DiscWorld game by itself would be extremely costly and unlikely to happen. Which is a shame given all the potential. This is about bringing a little bit of discworld to Skyrim, even if it is only the Mended Drum.

It looks like this one may be dying. Is there anybody currently working on it or has it been judged to be too complicated?

http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn114/Biolord/Rincewindavatar2copy.gif I am thinking that wearing it disables your ability to use any weapons or magic but has the following effects. 1. Unlimited Stamina - Running as much as you want. 2. 200% Speed Increase This is after all a hat for running away.
-
How is the Mended Drum looking or the Unseen University. Also, there could be a player house located in the Unseen Estate.
-
Another thing we need are the characters as companions. Rincewind and his luggage, he runs away but the luggage eats people.

How goes the Ankh effort? How will UU be rendered on the outside?
-
Bar fights, musicians dodging axes, all the different races. I cant wait to test it :)

The issue with this is how will you handle security? Making it real time sounds great, but there may end up being a lot of dead carriage drivers due to bandits. Maybe load up some guards in the back as well?

I see what you mean. The shades would almost have to be created from scratch. The streets are different depending on the area as well, so many different textures will be needed for that. It might end up being a city with multiple areas, such as in Oblivion. The larger cities required traveling through a door and loading a new area. Then there is the Ankh, is it possible to create a river that you can walk on and that catches on fire in the summer? There is already flammable liquid present, so perhaps a combination of properties could be used? In the end, it will have to start small anyways. First the Mended Drum, then the rest. The single hardest part may be the Unseen University.

Excellent, I can't wait to see how it turns out. How difficult is the CK to learn?

Finally its out! I will attempt to do some work myself, but this will definitely be a work in progress. How many out there are working on this as well?

Tuesday the Construction Kit comes out and then the fun begins!

LE Horse replaced with Chocobo from Final Fantasy

This would be truely awesome...... Though it might be a useful gag if you could ride a normal size chicken.....Can you imagine lol. -
I would think that Death wouldn't be too hard to come up with? It might be easier to have him automatically follow Rincewind around with accompanying dialog, then have Rincewind as a companion. Followed by Death having a near Rincewind experience and the box with many feet of course. It strikes me that He's the the most recognisable (dare I say; relatable) character for people who haven't read Terry Pratchett. Leads me to think that perhaps a Death-centric mini-quest/short story might be a good starting point. A decent reception for that could have a snowball effect of the larger community helping out to expand the scope. He's also a good ambassador for Pratchett's tone. It'll also give you a good chance to focus on good writing, characterful dialogue (hopefully voiced by any one of the marvelous voice actors in the machinema/modding community) and guide the player into the experience. There are already wraith models which can be expanded upon. And as far as a very quick wiki search tells me, there isn't a character quite like Death in the ES lore (although there's loads of different demi-god like beings.) He could even take a cynical snipe at the need for so many different gods and what not in ES. "Bureaucratic" I'd imagine him calling it. PS: saying machinema made me think - definitely work towards getting some well put together machinemations (wrong word?) for what ultimately developes from your mod. The combined keywords alone will bring in interest in the thousands. I would be very interested in testing out such a mod, please let me know if I can help. Another interesting quest that wouldn't be too far from ES would be the Temple of Bel-Shamharoth the Soul Eater. There are plenty of quests that could be adjusted, maybe with a bit of interior decorating work lol.

Are you planning on just altering one of the many extra pubs in skyrim? What do you mean, I was going to wait for the Ck and make a new cell. anyways here's a screen: That is awesome :) Anybody know when the Construction Kit is coming out? We are quickly running out of January.

Nice, I want a wearable set of Vime's Armor.

The construction kit is supposed to be inbound. Is anyone interested in working on any of this?

Anybody out there familiar with Discworld want to make some campanions to test the water? How about a test town? Start with the Shades and work your way around. Or better yet, just make an inn (The Mended Drum) and build around! That is an awesome idea, The Mended Drum should be relatively easy to make and would be an interesting test bed. Put it anywhere, add in some of the custom characters and setup interesting interactions.

There's a thread discussing that option already... I don't mean "Don't discuss it" I mean "you're not alone in that thought." The idea of adopting a kid and training them to be a follower/squire/sidekick is very appealing. Especially if a voice pack might be included to add some depth (and comedy) to the player's travels. I've said it. I'm rather taken with the idea. ^_^ There IS a pregnancy model resource out there, but AFAIK no clothes or armor for it, yet, and it's a replacer, not a standalone. So, EVERYONE in the world suddenly becomes pregnant, which in my mind kinda defeats the purpose of trying to tailor your character. So I take it that this has to wait for the construction kit, what if that turns out to be a bit disappointment? Any other ideas about this topic?

This. I mean, there's already an orphanage full of children literally begging to be adopted. True, perhaps an option to buy the orphanage and make decisions regarding their education. Either way, a definite plus.

They all like to talk a lot. So what if you only allowed them to attack via shout, put in a few campaign bullets and let them fly as companions. Unlimited Shouts, dress them in a suit, and see who convinces you that they kick the most you know lol. Maybe George W. Bush as well, he had the funny mishaps that would fit well. Guess I am in a satirical mood this morning lol.
