  1. Yes it is true that right now 10GB at 4K is still enough for most titles. But that was also true 6 years ago when I got my 980 Ti with 6GB VRAM, and now I am struggling when I want to modd my games lol. And yes engine limitations suck. It's only natural that older engines and DX versions perform worse. So that is something everyone just has to accept. So I am good with that. As long as I get enough VRAM for 4K textures and 60 fps I am good :)
  2. The challenge here is more about graphics card. The CPU, be it 4 cores or 8 or 16 cores doesn't matter as the game engine won't use that. But the graphics card will pretty much always be at 99% utilization. But when it comes to modding, textures are so important and going 4K is like taking such a wide leap forward, that 10GB won't be enough. I believe it's Microsoft Flight Simulator, for example, that reaches 10GB+ VRAM usage at 4K resolution. So a 3080 just isn't future-proof at 4K resolution. And about prices they finally came down. It's still not MSRP but actually way more reasonable now. If you only look for the cheapest card you can find you can now get pretty close to MSRP. It's gonna be a card like PNY, Zotac or EVGA or whatever. But I have an ASUS B550-E motherboard so I am only looking at ASUS graphics cards lol. And ASUS is always more expensive. So I can't expect to get one at MSRP either way. It's always gonna be like 100-300 € above MSRP even with normal prices. That's why I now ordered an ASUS 6800 XT TUF Gaming for 1200 €. I m crying cause it's so much money but hey it's the best AMD offers and "only" 550 above MSRP. The same model but as a 6900 XT is currently 1549 €, so it's also 550 above MSRP so either way it doesn't matter which one I take: it's expensive. But I chose the 6800 XT so I can save 350 € to buy a new monitor lol. Cause 5-10 fps more is not worth 350 € I think. Fortunately, the 6800 XT is on the same level as a 3080 and still very very close to a 3080 Ti or 3090. The only difference is mainly RTX and DLSS. But hey if developpers finally optimize their RTX games for AMD graphics cards and start using FSR, I believe it won't really matter anymore, even if NVIDIA is "better".
  3. I have Ryzen 7 5800X so on the processor side I'm good. I'm asking about VRAM because I think I'll buy a new one soon as prices started to fall down (finally). And I have a hard time choosing between a 3080 or 6800 XT. The NVIDIA one has only 10GB VRAM and the AMD has 16GB. But I worry that the AMD might not be good enough because I heard AMD doesn't always have very stable drivers. Also NVIDIA currently has better RTX support/optimizations and DLSS.
  4. Hello, I just wanted to know how much VRAM you would recommend for modding my Fallout 4 and Skyrim SE with 4K Textures, etc.? And playing in 4K of course. Thanks! Jonathan
  5. SKSE is installed correctly. But usually Vortex has it's own little icon for SKSE on the Dashboard. And I would actually like to use that icon for my shortcut icon of the SKSE Loader. But the icon disappeared so I don't know what happened :/
  6. Hello, like the title says the icon from the SKSE Tool disappeared and I don't know where to find it. I even uninstalled and reinstalled it. Re-installed Vortex too but the icon is kinda just gone. Can anyone help as I would like to find that icon  Also when I deleted the tool and restarted Vortex the tool would reappear somehow :/ Edit: I found where the icons are but no SKSE icon is there. How can I get it back?
  7. Nice. With this I can buy the ESO Summerset DLC :)
  8. Hey Dark0ne, would it be possible to have a notification function that let's me open all new notifications at once? That would be so helpful :)
  9. Quick question: how long is an alpha state? Cause I would love to try out the softwore now, but if the beta is like in 2 months I can wait :)
  10. In response to post #57570476. Well I'm sure they are still working on bugs, changing things, etc. Give them some time :) And remember it's still in Alpha State. So it won't be perfect yet
  11. Great news! I can't wait for Vortex to be available.
  12. In response to post #56641926. #56646641 is also a reply to the same post. For now, I am making a mod list that I'll use for my next F4 play-through. Cause that's always the part that takes ages :)
  13. I really hope Vortex gets released soon. I want to start modding Fallout 4 with it :)
  14. I can't wait for Vortex to be available so I can start modding Fallout 4. I am currently testing mods so I can make a mod setup list but I would like to use Vortex as the mod manager when I start playing the game :)
  15. I really love all the changes that have been made lately. New Nexus website design which I personally love and new Nexus Mod Manager Vortex which I believe is going to be awesome. One feature I really hope to see in Vortex is the ability to update mods with one simple step. Right now NMM doesn't let you easily update your mods. It's actually a very frustrating process which is why I often take months to set up my mod list. Hope to see the final version of Vortex soon :)
  16. Well sometimes real life comes first and I have nothing to say about that. But I think the developers have to give at least monthly updates. I mean it's not hard to write a few sentences so people can see they are still alive. And sharing information about the progress made would actually calm people, including myself. The only thing that worries me is this part: "I haven't had any time to work on this for the past few months". I would like to know if this means 0 progress or some progress has been made since the last update in December. 3 months have passed and it's normal for people to be frustrated when things aren't going forward. It might go forward but we normal players don't see this and ignorance scares people. Having these updates also helps people to decide whether or not they want to start playing the SE now or wait for SKSE64. I bought Skyrim SE this February so I don't own OLDRIM. This means I don't have access to the great OLDRIM mods that need SKSE to work. Luckily for me, there are already a lot of mods for SE. And new ones are coming every day. I have seen video footage of games that followed the SEPTIM guide for SE and it looks beautiful. But I decided to wait because I thought mid-march wasn't very far away. Unfortunately now no one really knows how long it might take to finish SKSE64. It's just like JK"s mods. Nazenn has taken over the mods but he has his own mods to take care of first. In other words JK's mods are taking a lot of time to come to SE because he has so many projects to work on. Etac and Convenient Horses are also coming to SE, so there are great news, but can I wait longer than I already have? It's a tough question even I can't answer. And this is making me frustrated as well. I can't even imagine how people who waited since November feel like. To be honest I think I might wait. I will just play Mass Effect Andromeda and Ghost Recon Wildlands instead and hope SKSE64 and every essential mods comes faster then before.
