  1. Besides what has been said, you also need to keep an eye of your save game size. Save game bloat is one of the causes of ctds.
  2. Just verify local file integrity via steam and if an essential esm is gone steam would just download it again ;)
  3. I had this problem before. Usually caused by NMM crashing during installing or uninstalling mods. Another cause is updating the old NMM to the new NMM with profile changes. The issue here is not the plugins. You can just delete the plugins manually. The problem is the leftover scripts, meshes, textures, etc. that is not uninstalled properly as well.
  4. Can u upload a pic or anything detailing about the crash?
  5. Try waiting for 30 days. What do you mean by experimental playthroughs? As long as they do not originate from the same start it should not have any effect.
  6. Do you have any mods that may alter female vampires in someway? One method is to open the Creation Kit and select Dawnguard. From there you should be able to find female vampire npcs there and export their facegen data using Ctrl+F4 or Alt+F4 (I can't remember which one). If it's a named npc, finding it in the CK should be simple. Things would get tedious when the problem occurs in computer generated npcs (non uniques). You should do the CK as a last resort because messing around the vanilla files can lead to more problems than solutions when not done right. So again I ask, do you have nay mods that may affect female vampires in anyway?
  7. it must be because of the dragonfly and fish mating season. Nah it's probably just a rare glitch.
  8. Not to mention that some mods have a minimum system requirement (mostly enb). Scripted mods would also needs you to have a decent system to run their scripts (alongside other scripted mods) without script-lagging. If I post my load order (which has plenty of scripted mods) here it might not work with others because we have different specs. Memory optimization is also important which is undetectable from viewing load order.
  9. How long has these lights been there? If it's a spell you cast or npcs cast (I think the spell was magelight), it should be gone after some time.
  10. Are you experiencing CTD after several minutes of gameplay. I once have that problem, Crashing after every 30 minutes. I checked your mod list. I have a few comments: 1. I wouldn't suggest using bethesda's high resolution pack, It allegedly causes issues. You are better off safer with HD mods from the nexus. 2. You have SkyUI, iHUD, and Archery Gameplay overhaul disabled. I hope this isn't midgame? Never uninstall a mod (except mesh or texture mods), especially scripted mods, midgame. 3. What version of Immersive Armors are you using? I observed you have the Immersive Armors for NPCs mod which is not updated to the latest version of IA. I am not sure if this can cause issues or not, but based on my experience, don't use patches or mods requiring an outdated mod to work. 4. I believe I spotted 3 kinds of lighting mods. Not saying that is bad, but I hope you have checked back with the author for compatibility. I myself only used 2, RCRN and RLnFX (Confirmed compatibility) 5. If you haven't, use LOOT. Don't use the outdated BOSS. Let LOOT organize your load order. Then check back with the author. Popular or massive mods usually have a preferred load order. 6. Try starting a new game. Check if you have the same problem. 7. Like what TacticalSand said, use ENBoost and SKSE memory patch. You might also want to try using StableUGridstoLoad or Safety Load. 8. DIsable all mods and then load one mod and start a new game. If all works fine enable another one and start another new game. Repeat until you find the culprit. If enabling one or even after enabling mods one by one the problem is still there, then I believe it is indeed the memory optimization. There are plenty of guides to do this, ranging from editing your Skyrim.ini to downloading programs on memory optimization for your device. Use the latter at your own risk however. If it's about optimizing your Skyrim.ini, I prefer to use Genesis'. It's not very popular, but it's the only one I found to be working. It drops your skyrim to low, but you can just set it back again to your default recommendations and you won't loose the memory boost. Those are the suggestions I can bring to you. If neither of those options work, there is another way. When I have this problem like yours, because I use 300+ mods, enabling mods one by one is just tiresome and boring. And so, what I did was uninstall all expansion mods (this includes wyrmstooth) and totally rebuilt my mod list. Start from the essentials one and decide other complimentary mods carefully. After weeks or even months of trying and trying, I finally got 300+ mods working amazingly well and I have been playing for 100+ hours (and counting). You have a short mod list so I hope this isn't that difficult. I know this post is very long, even longer than I intended. But I hope this is helpful even if a little.
  11. Update: Nvm, I believe this is a hardware issue with my laptop.
  12. Look, I know this isn't a new bug, and you can pretty much find answers in the internet, BUT, I have searched and searched, and tried different solutions to no avail. The bug or glitch I am talking about is the infamous water flickering. I have been experiencing this bug for a very long time in my gameplay, and it has bothered me only a little, until I went to apocrypha (Dragonborn DLC). This glitch has made it extremely difficult to move around because it kept teleporting me here and there and send me to my death in the water. This is especially active when I am near the moving hallway. From several sites, I have tried: 1. Disabling V-Sync 2. Limit my FPS to 60 3. Change Monitor Refresh rate I tried doing 1 and 3 but it didn't work. I have disabled V-Sync from the Skyrimpref.ini (iPresentInterval=0), through enb and also turning vertical refresh off in my AMD settings. My monitor refresh rate is at 60 so it's definitely not it. If I am to cap my fps to 60 (through enb), my game significantly looses its fps and has major script lags. Oddly, my game has been running 60 fps without even using the limiter (checked with fraps and skyrim performance monitor). The only thing I could blame is the AMD Crimson update. Because before that, I disabled vertical refresh in the old catalyst control panel and the water stops flickering and materials stops exploding. What confuses me is I have indeed disabled vertical refresh in the Crimson control panel but somehow V-Sync is still on. Please guys, If you have any suggestions it is greatly appreciated and if you need more info I will gladly provide them.
  13. I was doing Alduin's Bane quest and I have learnt the Dragonrend shout. During the merethic era alduin was immediately put to the ground when they used dragonrend on him. However when it was my turn to fight him the dragonrend seemed to have no effect on him. He is still able to fly around the mountain as if nothing has happened, even until the dragonrend effect on him wears off. There are only a few chances I get in which Alduin landed on the mountain after being shouted with dragonrend, but as soon as he landed and I attack with melee, he just flew off. Sometimes I can't even land a hit before he flew again despite still under the effect of dragonrend. Is there a fix to this? Why is this happening? It's really annoying because I can only deal damage to Alduin when he is under the dragonrend effect. Here are the mods I have that are linked to alduin and dragonrend shout: Deadly Dragons (makes dragon stronger and more deadly) Individualized Shout Cooldown (Separate cooldown for each shout so I can use multiple shouts simultaneously) More Dramatic Alduin (alduin skin retexture) The Dragon Engine (creates random skin variants for dragons, although Alduin is not affected) Perkus Maximus (I don't know if this may even be related but just FYI) I would gladly add additional info if needed. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated :)
  14. Hi, so I was rebuilding my modlist for my new playthrough. I started a new game with the normal game intro. However after a few minutes my screen turns black (like pure black, as if it was shutdown, but it wasn't). I cannot do anything with my mouse and keyboard. Clicking does nothing, and keyboard commands such as CTRL+ALT+Delete and Alt+tab doesn't do anything either. However I am able to hear the game's music and other sounds. I don't know how to bypass this save shutting down my laptop the hard way (taking off the battery or holding the turn on button for a long time). Note: This doesn't happen only to my Skyrim, but when I play other games. But Skyrim has been the most frequent so that's why I decided to post it here. Please help, this is a game breaking issue. Any solutions or advice would be appreciated.
  15. Well I do have SkyRe installed, and yes I think is incompatibility with a certain mod. I rebuilt my mod list with new mods and removed some, and I have not experienced the same crashes again. So it's not hardware, but MODS. However I was not able to identify culprit. But I'm just glad I can play Skyrim again. Thanks to all the previous replies of suggestions, it really add more knowledge to me, and I can minimize Skyrim crashing more and more. :)
  16. Well, while having over 200 plugins active, a CTD like that is to be expected actually. I play Skyrim with over 250 plugins active and Wrye Bash is already complaining to me that I have to many plugins lol. And yes, I do experience this sometimes in my game, especially when dying and reloading a save with such high activity (scripts running), such as in combat and in an exterior cell. But I tend to be able to load save games in interior cells, scripts do not fire as active. It's also worth mentioning that with such high plugins count infinite loading is to be expected too. You want solutions? Well I can't find a definitive one. You will just have to tone down your mods quantity (especially the scripted ones). If you're like me, and can't just tone down your mod list easily, well do try to live with it.
  17. Problem is, I cannot duplicate the event and it only lasts for like 3 seconds before The Chosen One disappeared (thus, I cannot click on the NPC itself). I need to check the base ID through console. But I do not know how to do so in FNV :(
  18. Well this seems technical and advanced (opening BIOS and all). But I'll give it a shot. I'll report back later. I am not very familiar with Steam verifying game data integrity. How does it work actually? Will I loose some files (from mods) if they were corrupt or changed? I need to be careful when doing these things. I don't want re-install Skyrim and all my mods unless I really really need to.
  19. Ok, but what mod? It would be easier to track down if the console provides the same functionality like Skyrim....
  20. Hey I experienced the same thing! I was travelling to the fort trying to exterminate Caesar and his men when suddenly I found an NPC wearing Combat Armor MkII and using a minigun and it's labelled "Chosen One". I was running when I saw it so I tried to turn my character around and tried to speak with him, but the game had a little freeze and The Chosen One just vanished. I am not making this up, seriously. I came here looking for answers as well and was thrilled it seems someone else is having it also, though I didn't find him in the cemetery. I did plan on taking a screenshot but the incident didn't occur twice (or maybe not yet). You see, my game autosaves when I enter a new cell (in this case, Fort Drawbridge). The first thing I saw as I enter the cell was my followers and some legions. On my left I suddenly spotted him before he vanishes. Guys, how do I search an npc data through console? I figured it's not like Skyrim. In skyrim you can just type like "help "Chosen One" 4" and you'll get the data and can know from which load order that NPC come from. But the same text does not have the same result. This is real guys. But is it vanilla or is it a mod?
  21. I ran diagnostics and it seems that all hardware are fine (though somehow my hardisks didn't get scanned for some reason). I have a toshiba laptop so I ran the toshiba diagnostic ultiliy. Should I try other diagnostic utility and if so, can you recommend a good one? Thanks.
  22. Running TES5Edit doesn't give me any error when loading all active plugins. I don't think the issue is with mods. I think it's either about memory or hardware....But I am still open to other possibilities.
  23. The last thing I did? Well, I didn't mess around TES5Edit that's for sure. And if by compatibility patches you mean skyproc and bashed patch, then yes, I did update them. It's a laptop. I don't think my video card is overheating. When I launched skyrim my laptop was cool, there was no heat. And how regular should I get my laptop cleaned? I think my my last cleaning was about last month or so. Speaking of video card, I just remembered something. There was once a hot topic in the community about Skyrim crashing when it hits 3.1 (or was it 3.5?) GB of memory. Could it be possible that I have reached it? I did set my skyrim.ini to allocate 4 GB. Does anyone know how to allocate to exactly 3 GB?
  24. Hey guys, so as the title says I am having a little issue with my Skyrim. My game tends to crash after Bethesda Logo, but it is not because of missing masters (yes, I have checked with Wrye Bash and perform skyproc patches). What makes it very odd is that it occurs at random times. Let's say my current Skyrim status, with 254 esps, is condition A. As I play skyrim, it went normally, until it suddenly freezes in game. Then when I tried to load again Skyrim (still condition A), the game crashes right after Bethesda Logo. If I restart my laptop and launch Skyrim condition A again, it works normally again. That is before the issue rises again. Now I have tried several attempts. I tweaked my skyrim.ini, reset to defaults, uninstall unscripted mods, and rerun skyproc and wrye bash. No reds, all green. Say this is conditon B now. I launched skyrim and things went normally. But then the same issue arises again and again. I don't know what might be causing it, and this seems very peculiar. Several attempts (such as deactivating antivirus, ending several processes from task manager, and closing all tabs save skyrim) seemed to be able to fix it (as least I think), temporarily. Stop playing for a while seemed to work as well. Please guys, I need an explanation and is possible, a solution. Are there any other factors I missed or things unclear? Please let me know and I'll be sure to give you more information. Your help will be greatly appreciated.
