  1. I would like to begin with few words of great appreciation to authors of already existing house mods: The level of detail on architectural and interior decoration is in many cases overwhelming! But on the other hand, most of those houses seem a little bit empty. Of course you can get a steward, start a family or even use a follower mod and order followers to relocate to your house (or manor, or castle, etc.). I'm thinking, since modders already proved just how much is possible, why not invite particular NPC's that are part of main quest or became a good friend of Dragonborn along the way? Why not invite Esbern to browse through the collection of books you found throughout Skyrim? Why not offer Malborn a safe refuge from Thalmor? Why not ask good old Paarthurnax to join you for a quiet night of contemplation upon the words of power? I don't imply voice acting or even new lines for them. The way I see it, they have some interesting things to say even after you exhausted their quest usefulness. Of course anyone can modify a mod to their own heart's content, put as many NPC's in existing mods as they like. Well, I guess I would too if I had the time to. Alas, I don't. Even if I really would love to. So I guess the idea is plain, posted and anyone willing can use it. Or just discuss it here. That's fine too. Sorry for my bad engrish, I don't train it as often as I would like :d
  2. That kinda conflicts itself...? If they joined up it means they supported it, what means they lowered the value of work of every other modder who may have wanted to sell his work and earn more than measly 25% But I agree with the rest, the threats were childish and undeserved.
  3. In response to post #24750659. #24751234, #24751479, #24751989, #24752184, #24752194, #24752214, #24752369, #24752499, #24752619, #24752624, #24752694, #24752819 are all replies on the same post. I'm not a native speaker, but I don't think that should matter here, does it? Sorry for mangling English, if that brings you comfort. Secondly, I pointed out that it is only a part you despise. You wrote "This community has showed it's true face these past couple of weeks." by which (I'm guessing) you meant a group full of hateful, entitled people. But as I wrote, it's a part of them. I don't expect anyone to check if that's a bigger or smaller half... um... part, but they obviously make so much more noise then the others. Enough to get them noticed. There is also this part which doesn't give a damn, becouse they are busy playing, or the part that is busy at work, or every other part of this so called group. In case it's hard to tell, it's not some kind of attack on your person. I just belive that there is time and place for scolding, and then there is the internet. Where trolls roam free and modders are oppressed. What is wrong if you ask me.
  4. Call me sceptical, but since the great EA fiasco with ME3 ending I don't belive a word of corporate PR, be that blog, twitter or whatever. They write what they think you want to read, becouse it is their job. Apart from that, I'm not pissed at entire Bethesda, or even Valve for that matter. Just the people in charge who seek to fill their pockets with more cash. I may have no idea how Bethesda stands financialy, but I'm pretty sure they would rather fire a few workers than lower management's wages. That or come up with cash grabbing ideas.
  5. In response to post #24750659. #24751234, #24751479, #24751989 are all replies on the same post. And now you are beeing just as unfair as the part of the players you despise. Must have missed all the "I think the modders should be compensated (if they feel they should be, or whatever works for you), BUT: (here insert a long list of why Bethesda/Valve solution is awful). And I'm not opting here for "either donations or nothing at all". If someone is set on selling it, go right ahead. But that makes the relation modder - customer much more difficult, since the customer is not just a greedy player. In this glorious capitalism customer has rights. First rule of dealing with a group of people, buddy: don't generalise.
  6. If you think PoE are bit "ugly", you shouldn't check Arcanum ;D
  7. Well, so if anyone post a stolen mod they claim property of stolen data? That doesn't sound exactly legal. And seem only to further my point. Well, in my opinion. But that doesn't matter since I doubt any modder would sue Valve over that. Academic dispute I think.
  8. Just in case. Don't know abbout modding, but Pillars of Eternity seems fun.
  9. That is patently false. The terms of modding on Steam have ALWAYS been that mods WILL be removed if they are posted without permission of their original maker. They've even removed mods that use limited content from other mods without that modders permission. As far as I understood, not really going through all the rules they pose, the mod I know that was pulled was disabled by it's author. And in response to his decision to delete the said mod Valve claimed to be the owner of what the owner uploaded. So unless Valve state otherwise I see this as "we don't give a puck if it's stolen". That said (written actually), I my be wrong in that regard concerning the actual rules posed. But it does stay in conflict with Valve claiming uploaded mods to be their property. I'd rather be understanding the situation wrongly too so if anyone can point me to prove I'm wrong - please do.
  10. While I'm generally inclined to agree with beeing careful, I must add that the way Bethesda and Valve handles this situation gives off two general ideas: 1. They want a bigger control over everything mod involved (remember what Valve said, any uploaded mod is their property) and this is something us, gamers and modders alike, can (and probably should) be against. 2. Stealing from others (as in selling other people's mods) is fine, as long as you share the income with a corporation. That is something no sane person should agreed with. Therefore I agree some action on our part should be taken, but actions that are equivalent to the problem.
  11. Sorry to hear you had to cancel your plans becouse of this bullsh*t. I hope you wil get another chance in the future.
  12. Already happened: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/65070/?
  13. Ah... you know, nevermind that. DR6 is a bit too bugged for me, so I'll just stick to the DR5 (no problem with nif's there). Guess this topic can be closed/trashed/scrapped or whatever admins like to do with useless posts. Thank you and good day. :)
  14. I don't really know if this is a suitable section for this kind of request (if not, please relocate the thread or close or whatever...), but both of the nif files does not belong to me (but to respective modders). Before you say "Try if yourself", I'll answer: I tried. I never worked with Nifskope (or any other similiar software, for that matter) and I'm afraid my case is a bit more complicated than a simple copy and paste. Which I tried to follow already. And I certainly don't plan to tangle with nifs anytime in the future. Just never had the patience for that kind of things. Problem is, I would like to use "Drakes Anthro-Dragon Race ( http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=8273 ) and Deadly Reflex ( http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=8273 ), but they both use a different first person skeleton.nif. It wouldn't matter if it werent for... Im not sure about this... different axises? (I tried turning the model but Im obviously missing something, since it did not changed a thing in the gameplay). When using first person camera during play, the camera is positioned higer (above the original point) and the model itself (checked using free camera) is turned about 90 degrees. Third person worked fine till now. If anyone would like to help fixing that problem, I would be grateful. P.S. Sorry if the problem was mentioned before, I did not found any topics about that. But that just maybe my blindness kicking in.
