  1. I am trying to add a new type of armor, "heavy" armor, because it does not make sense that Sectopod, blast padding and mechs have the same armor. I was thinking of "heavy armor", as armor that cannot be shredded, but can be penetrated/ignored by particular weapons. I wonder what you think it could be a better idea, or more feasible, or both.
  2. Done that. but Maya still shows it as gigantic. Maybe it's maya's scale that is pre-set for microscopic stuff?
  3. BTW, thanks, but I was looking for directions  on the actual skeleton thing
  4. you mean, import into blender as FBX then export as another FBX and import into maya?
  5. thanks DA I appreciate that
  6. all understandable except the Chryssalid not being able to spawn new ones. Is the avatar eventually planned? Props for creating "innate" abilities, like for the Muton or the Viper.
  7. It was obvious it is not working for ME. I know it's working for someone else. x64 and foreign language might be the cause, as you said. ModBuddy language won't change to english.
  8. I can confirm it is not working then :(
  9. I'm having serious trouble in importing custom 3d models to an existing skeletal mesh. I use blender and maya. Specifically, I want to assign another humanoid mesh to the Adv trooper Skeletal Mesh, in order to keep the same bones and animation possibilities. importing to maya the FBX makes the model appear gigantic, in blender it works fine. Any suggestion?
  10. update and progress: so, apparently, now particle editing works. contrary to what the documentation says, there are 3 types, not 2, of particles: w/material, without/material and, most frequently, particles which feature both elements: parts with and parts without material. Xcom 2 particles tent to feature "color range" which means, from what I understand, that the particle will oscillate between two shades. EU the only problem is to understand how XYZ values equate to RGB. a converter such as THIS might help http://colormine.org/convert/rgb-to-xyz It is not exact science however: I tried to make a psi explosion crimson, instead of blue, and somehow the exact XYZ values yield a yellow color. apparently because colours don't mix that well, and they still tend to be displayed simultaneously. Which can yield to very cool effects, but is somehow imprecise. there is also the problem that values higher than 1 tend to "overcrowd" the particle, making it less detailed. I still can't figure out why, but the difference is noticeable. "Color scale over life" is still mysterious, as apparently changing initial colour overrides it. Materials are relatively more simple: you can change the color of the material via semi-standard RGB directly from the editor, and the difference will show. Problem: all stuff affected by that material will change. Answer: copy the package and rename it. After all, it will be used for making new stuff.
  11. I did. I meant, a foolproof way to know the extension is actually loaded. I accidentally deactivated the error message.
  12. there is not. you think it would be necessary for just a couple attempts?
  13. It does not, unfortunately. Is there a foolproof way to check that it is working?
  14. oh. so how might I check that?
  15. So changing Xcom tools software language to English should fix it?
  16. Ah. So it is a known problem. I was just trying it out tbh. Not even released as a mod. Documentaction does not help much.
  17. So multi hit already exists as a ranger ability, but what I meant was to add it as a "normal" attack, two shots in succession without crouching down. Amy idea?
  18. I'll try that this evening when I am home, thanks!
  19. Lord engineer, I'd like to make a suggestion. Since you and the team graciously included FX effects from EU/EW (please don't remove those, they look great), can we hope to eventually see the assets of those games? Specifically, those would be appreciated: - enemies + their animations and sounds, so they are ready to deploy in missions - world building assets I don't know how different the engine is, but the FX are there so it might be possible to directly inject them.
  20. So, I've tried changing the particle colour, but it is not working. I tried two, the "stunned" one and the Ethereal shadow behind the Avatar. The first one has no material and colour changes. Buthe no matter the setting, it changes to black. Changing the curves and opacity does not help. Any idea? The second one, changes only partly. Is it possible to change the material color inside the Editor?
  21. Windows 10 x64. Not working at all here, and it does not display in the "extension" menu. XML error file shows (look at the bottom): Quote<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16"?> <?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="ActivityLog.xsl"?> <activity> <entry> <record>1</record> <time>2016/03/05
