  1. Ok so I am getting several CTDs after about 30 minutes of gameplay and I really cant find the problem. I have gone through my mod list several times and I don't know what the issue is, please help My load order: A few notes to clear the air on a couple things, most notably that my text is now green for some reason but whatever. - the bashed tags are in place, I have added the needed Delev's and Relev's -Warbugs Map mod does say that it has dirty edits but the mod author has stated in the threads not to worry about it. -ASIS was installed on a previous save but isn't anymore as it was too big a mod for my machine. I deactivated it and removed it from my mod list but it still appears in my load order unactive and I don't know why. -lastly I do have the Dawnguard and Dragonborn addons for Elysium Estate but for whatever reason aren't recognized by BOSS but they are there. please help me find the problem as I don't know what else to do here.
  2. okay so after fiddling with FNIS these last few days it unfortunately did not solve the problem, in fact at one point it made things worse with CTDs so I have uninstalled that. ultimately the issues still persist, does anyone know what might be causing these minor issues?
  3. it seems that the general opinion is to play the original games instead of wait for those mods to be released and in that case I say that works for me. after I posted in this thread I started watch a couple videos of both games and seeing what they have to offer (I had seen footage before for them but that was just reviews and in this case I watched 2 separate lets plays to get a better feel for the games) and I like the way Morrowind seems to play. Oblivion I think looks a bit more familiar so I think you guys have made the right call here and I will play the originals instead of the mods. @ Jeir - a mod list would be great, absolutely. I know that its probably best to play the game in its vanilla state first but what drew me into Skyrim was a lot of the mods that I saw. quick question on that I know that Skyrim and Oblivion have mods that require a script extender, is it the same for Morrowind? a quick google search didn't really turn up similar results to SKSE or OBSE. would you also happen to have a mod list for Oblivion as well? i don't know for certain if i will ever give Daggerfall a complete shot, after hearing what everyone here has to say about the title i am very curious about it but i would much rather play Morrowind and Oblivion first and give them their fair shake. (although playing a game centered around restoring the Numidium does sound very interesting). @ MostlyMuggie - don't sweat it, unfortunately its hard to fully understand what people are trying to say with just text. at the time it felt like an attack but if it wasn't intended to be one then i don't hold it against you. water under the bridge :) thanks for all your guy's feedback on this matter incidentally, i was very torn on this one but you guys have cleared this one up for me.
  4. Don't make me cringe... Who ever told you that Arena and Daggerfall are bad, are pretty ignorant. Although those games could be very daunting and unapproachable to younger gamers who didn't grow up with that sort of thing, Daggerfall can be very rewarding and considered by some to be the best TES games. People are discouraged by the graphics. Both games are free from Bethesda's site, but they can be a pain to install for someone who isn't experienced with DosBox, so I don't think they are for you. I wouldn't wait play the crossovers. They are just direct ports as far as I saw, and that is illegal. They also probably won't come anywhere near close to the originals. Although Morrowind and Daggerfall are my favorites, you will probably have more fun with Oblivion since it is a lot more similar to Skyrim. The combat in Morrowind is annoying for someone used to the system used in Skyrim or Oblivion. "Younger Gamers?" my age has nothing to do with it, I am new to the franchise but because you made a point of it let me clear the air by stating that I was playing the SNES and Genesis when they were new and back then I was 10. second, graphics only break the game if the graphics are bad at the time of release and more was expected of them, if a games graphics were good for the time of its release then it wasn't an issue and no older game should be judged based on the graphics of the current generation. third, I have DosBox and I know how to use it so thank you for your concern. lastly Skywind and Skyblivion are mods and modding a games files on your computer is not illegal, its only illegal when people start charging for the mods they create. now getting back to your statement I had heard from a friend of mine that he didn't enjoy Arena or Daggerfall and sense he and I share a lot of the same tastes in games I never got the opportunity to play them. I never bothered to watch the reviews of the games because I just took his word for it, satisfied? back to my question, would someone else please give me their opinion as I would very much like to hear it.
  5. I haven't had the opportunity to play the other Elder Scrolls titles but I have been told to pretty much stay away from Arena, and to a lesser extent Daggerfall although I did hear that one was ok-ish. I got into the Elder Scrolls through Skyrim and I absolutely love it, so much so that I want to try the other titles. with that said however I am wondering which one is the better experience for me to just play the original games? or to wait for Skywind and Skyblivion? (truth be told I don't even know how far along those 2 are and how much is left to be done). what would you advise?
  6. its just 2 little bugs that are noticeable but not game breaking, just a bit distracting. the main bigger issue is in the animations when using a torch, it seems the male characters hold the torch properly but the female characters (including my character who is male) hold the torch but move like theres nothing in their hand. even when stood still the hand is open and at the side but the torch is there and then when moving its the same movement animations without the torch. the mods that I have that affect animation are; 360 Walk and Run Plus http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/34508/ No Spinning Death Animation http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/17214/ XP32 Maximum Skeleton http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/26800/ UNP Blessed Body Redux http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/37900/ is there a conflict to be had here? the second issue is the just for whatever reason when I walk past NPCs and they start to say something, the dialogue will cut out half way through for a brief second and then carry on. the only mod I have that affects the dialogue of the game Guard Dialogue Overhaul http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/23390/ everything seems to be up to date and it might just be a glitch but it is a little distracting as it happens about half the time. could something be glitched with this mod?
  7. I wont lie, I am new to modding. at this point I am currently learning techniques with the Creation Kit through DARKFOX127's youtube channel where he makes tutorials on how to use the CK. I have an idea of what kind of a house, heavily mage themed but also with a temple feel to it as well while being relatively compact. the only things I am not seeing in his tutorials is things like clutter and navmeshing that clutter so it doesn't move around. so would someone like to work with me on their off time?
  8. I do know how to make a follower with the CK and what I have in mind is very easy but I don't know how to make them a healer so I thought I would put in a request. (also if there is a tutorial out there somewhere on how to turn them into a healer, that would be great too).
  9. I understand everything that the tutorial is saying and can follow the steps just fine but the only thing that's confusing me is that when I open the Modder Resource Easy NPC Creation mod in game there is no Cerwiden preset. do I have to recreate her appearance from scratch or is there another step to import the NPC file into the mod that I don't know about?
  10. i have tried Skyre before and while I do like the changes made to NPCs, and the perk trees, there was a couple things that weren't really for me, just a preference thing, so I switched back. that one does look quite good, strategic enemies is a great idea, im keeping track of this one.
  11. Currently I have Deadly Dragons, Dragon Combat Overhaul, and Dual Combat Realism. now obviously there is a lot to choose from and I actually find that a little intimidating when aiming for a better challenge instead of just making my enemies deal more damage and take less. I have tried ASIS and I really do like it, and may even install it again if its recommended. i have seen a lot of others that look really good but i just don't know how to procede, what would you recommend?
  12. the gentlemans guild eh, that sounds really good, I like that concept. I will definetally be looking into that one, could be interesting. I agree though being wealthy should entitle you to a few perks with the game in some way, earn various titles or something. the game doesn't really do a good job in making the PC feel important despite being the flippin dragonborn and the last one before you was the emperor. all you really get is the title of thane, an ugly house, and a housecarl in each hold, no position of power whatsoever.
  13. I am afraid that, at least as far as I can tell, there really isn't any player homes like that other then the 2 you mentioned. I do understand what you mean though as I wish that more player home mods came with the features of inviting followers to live in the house mod but that would involve some major scripting I think and seeing as "My home is your home" pretty much takes care of that for you. I do wish that followers could figure out stairs though. anyway I haven't tried "spouse can live anywhere" but I can speak for "my home is your home" and it works just fine for me for now. I would recommend that one at least.
  14. is there anything like this? I have noticed a couple house mods that add something like this (I chose Bluecreek Estate, but I am open to others). I like the idea of having NPCs working for me and accumulating wealth but I have only found maybe 2 or 3, not sure if there are any others. maybe a mod that adds a small city/hold/village where you are in charge? unique MALE robes perhaps or something. I don't know, kinda in the dark on this one, but what do you like in these areas?
  15. player home mods are some of my absolute favorite kinds of mods out there so I am always in the market for different homes for different kinds of characters. with that said I was wondering if someone could recommend a home mod that really suites a kind of rich noble character, one that Olfrid would be jealous of (and hopefully one where he is an actual prisoner in a cell, I hate that guy). I really like both Elysium Estate and Whiterun Mansion but I have used them before and for nothing else I want to try something different. I am currently using the Bluecreek Estate and that one is fantastic I love it, I just want to see what else is out there in that field. any thoughts? (btw totally serious about Olfrid, if any mod has him in a cell being tortued, I guarantee an endorsement).
  16. I shall give it a shot, it might take till sometime tomorrow as it is quite late but do you happen to know if it could be done with a wisp? a quick youtube search found 2-3 videos on the subject, the only thing I did not find out was whether a wisp was possible, but I will give it a whirl tomorrow.
  17. I am referring to those things that Wisp Mothers spawn, the small floating blue light thing, kinda like an ice wraith? I think you know what I mean. I would love to have one as a pet, I am playing a wizard and that would just complete him. I don't know how to make pets in the CK otherwise I would and not pester you fine people, but as it stands right now I don't know how. I know how to make generic followers and the most basic ugly house possible but that's about it. if its not a possibility right now could someone point me in the direction of an easy to follow tutorial on how to make said pet wisp? thank you.
  18. yes actually I used AFT in the past and made the switch to UFO (just to try it out), I might go back eventually im not sure just yet but not quite what im looking for. thanks though.
  19. I know this is a big request as it would probably involve a lot of scripting or something, but I don't think im alone when I say that serana is my favorite follower and its a real shame that she really only knows what 2 spells? and spends so much time bleeding out. she feels almost half finished. Bethesda obviously put a lot of intent at making her the most interactive vanilla follower and yet there seems to be so much missing. what I would like to see is a mod that makes her, well, a bit over powered to be honest. maybe some unique spells or an in depth AI that drastically makes her a tough opponent. thus far I haven't seen anything like this I don't think but I do believe that would be a big addition to the game. I am also willing to work on this with someone with experience as beyond a basic knowledge of how the CK works I don't know virtually anything about scripting but I am extremely willing to learn and have nothing but time on my hands at the moment to make this happen. I have a few ideas I would like to explore but I would need some help. I am not expecting this to go very far however as I know most requests aren't heard due to mod makers doing their own thing which is completely understandable but I figured I would throw this out there just in case there is an audience for it.
  20. sorry, it posted twice, can someone delete this thread please?
  21. I have seen a number of the improved AI for enemies making for better battles and I love that, it makes the game that much more challenging. the only problem with that is that the NPCs (followers in particular) seem to remain dumb. im just wondering if there is a mod for smarter NPCs/followers?

  23. im just wondering if there is some kinda trick to this, I followed the tutorial on how to create a follower and just added the options from another tutorial on creating a trainer to the same NPC but now for some reason I don't have either option, "follow me I need your help" and "I need training in Enchanting" both don't appear. is there another step to this?
  24. I have never actually used the Skyrim Monster Mod before, I personally prefer Immersive Creatures, but that does still sound like a problem with the leveled lists. try uninstalling MoMod for a moment and see how it performs but I do think that fiddling with wrye bash will turn up better results. at least I hope so. I also don't want to be "this guy" but I haven't heard of too many good things to say about SkyMoMod, I cant confirm anything but its just what I had read on other forums.
