  1. I'm a complete novice at modding Skyrim (even if this is your first mod, you're already more successful than me :P ) so this might not be 100% correct, but I've also been trying to understand partitions recently and I've been researching so I think I understand how they work. Even though most vanilla armors in Skyrim cover the legs and the body, they are generally only one model (I think using partitions 32, 34 and 38). I don't think the game can replace a small part of that model with a different set of armor in a separate partition. You could cover up the legs, maybe, but not replace the legs without editing the model. Even if you used the Iron Armor's partitions for your mod, it would replace the entire body, not only the legs. The only way I know to have the effect you want (again, I'm a novice, there might be another way, idk) is to make a second Iron Armor for Skyrim, and manually edit the model to remove the legs so you can use the leg armor you've created with the vanilla cuirass. It would probably be best to wait for a second opinion from someone more experienced though!
  2. The screenshots, as promised: I'm thinking of maybe editing the obj, and removing the back of the armor and making it a separate file to function like a backpack, but idk if there's an easier option to make the armor fit (and even if I did, would it remember its location on the body to fit without seams or gaps? Idk).
  3. Hi :) So, after a few false starts where I really had no idea what I was supposed to do to make an armor mod for Skyrim, I have now kinda succeeded into adding a set of armor into the game which is fully playable. I previously had an issue where equipping the armor would cause a CTD, but re-weighting the bones in Outfit Studio seemed to fix it. Anyhow, while the armor looks fine, the textures work etc, there is another problem: my character's head. When the armor is equipped, her neck is invisible so her head floats above the armor. It's location is also slightly wrong, it doesn't float completely central to where the neck should be, it's a little behind. Is there a way I can make her neck visible and reposition her head? I find it a little strange that this has happened, because I actually used the mesh of my body mod to make the outfit under the armor itself. My current theory is that it might be caused by the back of the armor - I'm hoping to create a Scout Trooper armor mod, and the back of the armor might mean the neck isn't completely central to the armor overall, but why her neck is also invisible idk. All insights are welcome, and I'll share a screenshot of the issue ASAP :)
  4. Hi  Some time ago, I decided that I would try to add some Star Wars armors into Skyrim. I'm a complete novice, I have never created a mod for a game before and I wasn't really sure what I was doing. I had a mesh, textures etc, but things... didn't entirely go to plan. The textures were all very shiny or looked strange, and the arms and legs of my body reference (UNP Skinny) clipped through the armor in a way inflate and deflate couldn't fix. I asked for help, but I kinda doubted that I had the capability to create a mod, so I abandoned my project. But I'm making another attempt, this time with a different mesh/textures. I think I've fixed the shiny texture issues (it isn't perfect, I think the shininess might be a little too dull, but it's fine for me), and the mesh is a better fit for the reference body (the legs fit perfectly). But I still have issues trying to make the armor mesh fit the reference. The arms still clip through the armor, like they are at a completely different angle, and I've again reached the point where I'm not sure what to do, and none of the tutorials I've found are really helpful in helping me fix this. This is what I have: So, I'd like to know if there's a method I can use to make the armor fit the body reference without needing to make alterations in Blender. I'm not even sure if it will matter that the arms are at a different angle tbh, but I'm guessing it does. Whenever I try to see the bones, the arms really don't match, and that's another thing tutorials are failing to help me understand. Any help is appreciated
  5. Thank you so much for your reply  I've tried to play with the brushes/tools in outfit studio to move/shape the mesh, and while I can cover the areas where the body reference clips, I haven't been able to figure out how to position the mesh better to fit the reference. Do you have any tips?
  6. Hi :) I'm hoping this is the right place for my question/issue... I've never made a mod before, but I'm trying to create an armor mod from an obj file (though I have an fbx file too if I need it). I've been experimenting with Outfit Studio to try and create it. I've imported the obj file, and scaled it to (approximately) match the size to my body mod reference (UNP Skinny). I've also added the .tga texture files into Outfit Studio, using the files marked _D to the diffuse map, _N for normal, _S for specular, etc. I first had a problem where the outfit would have the right colors and textures, but everything would appear equally shiny, like plastic (even though the texture should be cloth/metal), but I solved it by changing the normal texture to the files marked _MNMask, so everything looks ok now. I'm not 100% sure it's right, but it looks fine to me. But I have another issue. Or I think it might be an issue. The armor/obj doesn't really fit the body reference. The obj file's feet/legs are slightly closer together compared with the reference, so the UNP Skinny mesh kinda protrudes from the legs, and the arms of the UNP Skinny model are positioned a little further back compared with the obj. Also a little of the reference mesh is clipping through the back/cape of the obj (or the front when I move it) My question is: what can I do to solve this, and what are my next steps? I've tried to google various things, but I haven't found a solution I can really understand
  7. Thank you so much! You have my eternal gratitude  I wasn't expecting a reply, definitely not one so quickly. I wasn't even sure if it would be possible with compatibilities and things. I think I'm using the underwear version of the UNP Skinny? I think it looks the best/most well-proportioned from the body mods  Though standalone or 100% copy from the model (If it's easier/actually works) would be fine. You don't need to do anything extra to make it compatible with my body mod if it would work fine without it  I'm not really sure of the process to make a mod like this. It's completely your choice, and sure it would be nice to have it fit with the body, but not necessary. Ive seen quite a few mods in these requests for the Skyrim Special Edition, and because of that I think it could be important to mention I only have the older/Legendary Edition of Skyrim? My PC is like 7-8 years old and it's a miracle it can run the legendary edition, the Special Edition would probably make it explode - though something like this which seems high quality is 100% fine. Thank you again for working on this
  8. Hi :) I'm currently playing a "darker" character than normal in Skyrim. She's a vampire, and I'm using mods like Sacrosanct and Heartbreaker and things are fun... a little violent, but fun. It's nice to make the more questionable decisions I've never experienced before. I'm trying to find some armor for my character. I have a few armor mods, I'm using the DX Crimson Blood armor atm and I love it, but I'm interested in something a little more practical. There are quite a few Star Wars mods for Skyrim, but I think the Second Sister's uniform/helmet from Jedi Fallen Order, or something inspired by it/in a similar style, would be a fun addition to the game and really fit the character I'm playing and any future Star Wars themed mods I install.. I don't know if it would help anyone who could be possibly interested in creating the armor or something similar, but I've found a free 3D model of the character on RenderHub which uses .dae, .fbx, .mtl, .obj, .stl, .tga, .mesh and .ascii files, though it also includes the character's head and face, I think, and not only the clothing and helmet. I know at least some of the files work with Blender after testing and there are texture files too. https://www.renderhub.com/rip-van-winkle/second-sister-from-star-wars-jedi-fallen-order Because Skyrim is an old game and modding takes time and knowledge, I have no expectations and this is more "sharing the idea" than actually requesting anything :)
