  1. In response to post #24583709. #24583774 is also a reply to the same post. Well that bone armor guy has already made 100$, assuming the lowest price possible, so it might be even more. People are sheep. They will buy it. This is forced down consumers throats on top of paying AAA game prices. Pay AAA prices. Pay for AAA priced DLC. Pay for Mods. Surely I can't be the only one thinking this has to end somewhere. The issue is not modders selling their mods. The issue is Valve creating a monopoly and Beth wanting to have their cake and eat it too.
  2. Workshop authors can select from a pre-approved list of organizations, users, and toolmakers to receive a percentage of Valve's revenue from sale of their items. The specific organizations and individuals are listed below. TOOLS BlenderFoundation Blender is the free/open source 3D creation software for everyone, providing individuals and small teams a complete pipeline for 3D graphics, modeling, animation and games. Mod Configuration Menu The Mod Configuration Menu (MCM) for Skyrim is a framework that powers user-friendly in-game customization for hundreds of mods. It represents the free and open UI tools and infrastructure provided by the SkyUI team today and in the future. COMMUNITIES Nexus Mods Nexus Mods is a free to use mod hosting platform built around ease of use, creating a positive community and empowering mod authors to share their work with others. Established in 2001, the site has no outside investment and relies entirely on its users for funding and support. AFK Mods AFK Mods is a small modding community dedicated to friendly discussions, cooperation, and having fun while doing it. Our primary focus is on the Elder Scrolls games, but Fallout, Civilization, and other franchise modders are welcome as well. Polycount Since 1998 Polycount has been offering video game artists a place to learn, critique, and challenge themselves. If you check the credits to your favorite game, there is a good chance a Polycounter had a hand in it. @Dark0ne are you aware of that?
  3. In response to post #24582939. Yeah, that's like, your opinion man. If there wasn't modding support, I wouldn't have bought it. At least not full price. And after playing it in Vanilla, neither the DLC.

So your internal dispute is if you should upload on SW but keep it on Nexus for free? If so, just do it.

  7. We all are angry about the recent SW developments. We all are angry about how Valve and Bethesda want to milk and dime their customers. But, wait for a second and think. The mod authors themselves work countless hours to deliver their projects. Is it really their faults if they decide to profit off of it? Is it not their right, given the choice? They are just taking advantage of the situation. I don't doubt that many of us would do the same. Valve and Bethesda are taking 75% of the profits for doing basically nothing. Nothing! Then, there's the issue of how harmful this is for the community. It drives people off, tearing it apart. This is not helpful, at all. Don't hate mod authors, hate Valve and Bethesda. That's my personal take on it.
  8. In response to post #24565489. #24565664, #24565754, #24565979 are all replies on the same post. Yep, that's what I mean. And there are plenty EU laws according to that. And the way the Workshop is completely unchecked by Valve, I can see a whole can of worms there.
  9. In response to post #24565489. #24565664 is also a reply to the same post. I mean consumer protections laws, mostly. Things like mods not working based on load order and such.
  10. I'm also really curious if EU laws apply in such case, I can see quite a few problems with it. It comes inherently with modding, but paid content is entirely different.
  11. What I'm really curious about, was this known to some people (Well obviously, as we already have mods up there). Who chose who knows and on what basis?
  12. Steam just downloaded a Skyrim and Creation Kit update. Any news on what it might be?
  13. Hello Nexus forums. I am currently working on making KE's spirit blade various colours. For starters, deep red, blue and deep purple. I do require a save file with either vivienne on the appropriate level or the Inquisitor as a KE (Without! the Fires of the inquisition DLC!). If you would be so kind as to PM me if you can help, i'd really appreciate it.
  14. Dual Wield Blocking (And animations for that) is a must, for starters. Other than that, TK's Dodge. Way I would play a blade dancer is draining enchants on swords, light armor, almost no sneaking. Basically dodge and parry a lot while using devastating drain attacks through DW+Enchanting.
  15. This has probably been asked a lot, but search has not given a real result. I want to edit a couple follower NPCs with stock vanilla dialogue. Edit the race and all that stuff. That I know how to do. The issue is, I also want them to be afraid and submissive to my character (As much as possible anyhow). What mood/voice type would work for that? You don't need to go into specifics, but a link to a database of sorts that describes each voice type and mood and points me in the right direction would be awesome. Thanks in advance.
  16. I'm having this issue with Beirand, where he's 24/7 in Bits and Pieces, all his dialogue working perfectly, except he won't sell. He roams around Bits and Pieces and that's it. When disabled/enabled he shows back in to the Bits and Pieces with the same issue. Waited up to 10 days after the beheading thing, no luck. Moved him to the forge via console, he started selling stuff, but after I closed the menu he walked straight back into Bits and Pieces. I checked Tes5edit, mods that use him as a ref are USKP, 3dnpc, and Trade and Barter. Possible other mods that could use him are Alternate Crafting-I don't want to be a blacksmith and Live another Life. I did the quest for LAL (up to the MQ start) no change. What could be it? Is it a known issue with any of those mods?
  17. Ok so, I was trying to convert some female hair meshes to male. MOST of them work nicely by just replacing some apachii meshes. However, I've run into a issue with one, the hairline has this weird transparency. Any way to fix that? I can tell it's compatible because the semi transparent mesh fits the head perfectly. If only I can remove the transparency. Screens with ridiculous hair color for emphasis on the issue: http://i.imgur.com/4S0n5hjl.png http://i.imgur.com/WDvXCFol.png http://i.imgur.com/HVOPmYQl.png
  18. I could swear I've seen a tutorial for this somewhere, but I can't find it, and I'm on the brink of going crazy. I want to convert an already existing female hairstyle to male. Anything that points to the right direction is welcome. Thanks in advance.
  19. This has probably been asked before, but for the life of me can't find something with the search, so I apologize in advance. I know how loose files overwrite original game BSA files, however, I'm interested in mod BSA files. Mod Y adds a BSA, with some custom meshes. I want to create a replacer for those meshes, can I do it with loose files instead of unpacking/repacking?
  20. I'm looking for a mod that adds a whole line of spells that revolve around HP drain (essentially the vampire spells for non vampires, red visuals are a MUST ) all the way from Novice to Master. Perhaps with scaling damage or SPERG combatibility. I found a couple on the nexus but they are extremely overpowered and/or not scaling. Thanks in advance.
  21. So I thought I'd play a bit of NV while waiting for ESO. Long story short, I installed the non-private mods Gopher is using on his current playthrough. I'm pretty sure it's not a mod issue, I've run BOSS and FNVEdit. The game crashes after I start a new game. Specifically, it shows the starting items you get from the dlc (during the white screen) and just as about it's going to show Mitchel's face, the game CTDs. Tried almost every solution I could find to no avail. Any tips? EDIT: Holy molly, I just found a comment on youtube regarding NVAC (which I hadn't heard about) and it fixed it. Not going to delete the post since people might find it useful. NVAC is a NVSE plugin that miraculously works :P
  22. Hello. Such a mod would be my wettest of dreams. That said, the Longclaw script, while cool, is cumbersome in combat, as it plays the sheath/unsheathe animation. I suppose though, this is the closest we are going to get to functional bastard swords. Also, regarding the models, there already is a wonderful mod called Lost Longswords. It contains a longsword of each material and, in my humble opinion, they are the most beautiful swords on the Nexus.
  23. So let me start off by saying that I'm a total Blender noob. Same goes for Nifskope, with the exception of moving blocks around for mix n match purposes. Anyways, it all started when I wanted to recolor a shield along with adding a custom sigil to it. Thing is though, the sigil turned out so awesome that I figured that I'd make it 3d by creating it in Blender (which after some blood sweat and tears I managed to acomplish) and then superglue it on the shield. The problem is, when I extract it as a nif, the file in nifskope is empty. When I extract it as an obj file it's there in Nifskope, but I get a Nif versions differ error followed by ""array Extra Data List much too large.1852138323 bytes requested"" and the paste failing. Some help would be really appreciated.
  24. Awwwww yeah, the post we've been waiting for! Thank you already! :P
