  1. Well the only one who can tell that is yourself, really. Right-click all of your folders (one by one) and click 'Properties'. Look which one of them consumes these GB's.
  2. Hey everyone, I have a Sony Mini-DV Handycam, DCR-TRV12E, which is a digital camera, but recordes onto Mini-DV's. I also have a PC with Windows Vista installed. I can't find a driver for it. Microsoft says this camera is supported by Windows Vista, and Sony says I need to intall the XP driver in 'Windows XP compatibility modus'. Not working. Does anyone have any ideas? Regards, Bib-lost
  3. Well, you procossor is great. I would say either memory card or video card. Could you desribe more exactly what's wrong when you play a game right now? Is it the speed? The rendering? The graphics?
  4. And what of this part? I tried all of the solutions in the knowledge base. Seriously, when I start placing topics about system issues on the Nexus Forums, I'm really desperate :). Windows Update doesn't seem to have any drivers for my sound card. Still, I doubt this is about drivers. I did not update (or is it upgrade?) from XP to Vista or something like that, I've gone from Vista Home Premium 32 bit to Vista Home Premium 32 bit. Why would I need different drivers for that? By the way I did already download the newest driver.
  5. I'm sorry, but I'm not very familiar with the BIOS. I looked, but the only thing related to audio I could find was 'Integrated Audio On/Off' and that setting was turned On. I couldn't find an 'Audio Hardware' setting, or something like that.
  6. The problem is DXDiag doesn't list anything about the sound card, it's all blanco. But if you really think it can help you, I'll sens you the whole DXDiaf file.
  7. Have you gone into the control panel and looked at your audio devices there? I ask because if the Device Manager is listing your Audio card as working properly and the driver properly installed, I would look for the problem elsewhere, especially because the audio device is showing up in the taskbar, another big clue that the audio device is recognized in device manager. So try right-clicking on your audio icon in the taskbar (the same one with the red X in your image), and choose sound http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c117/SeaBlossom/otherstuff/crap/Image1-4.jpg http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c117/SeaBlossom/otherstuff/crap/Image2.jpg It should take you to pop up window, the same one pictured below which can also be accessed by clicking on Sound in your Control Panel. Also look in the control panel for something labeled SigmaTel High Definition Audio or something similar, or anything that looks to be sound related in there is worth looking at. Check the settings. My similar crappy on-board card is finicky about which of those settings I use in the Sound window. Finally there is one more possibility, but I'd want to know more about your system. You could go to Start / Run and type: DxDiag Save the file and post it here. http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c117/SeaBlossom/otherstuff/crap/Image4-1.jpg So about your first possibility, I can't open the control panel. When I right-click on the icon, the option 'Open control panel' is grey and I can't click on it. When I go to the configuration screen (correct term?) and than to Sound it says: http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/6/23/1971930/Geluid.JPG Translated in English, that means: "There are no audio devices installed." So I think there is something seriously wrong. Now, about the DxDiag, I won't sens it because a friend of me says it allows you to get rather personal data from my computer. I'll just post my specs then: Operating System: Windows Vista Home Premium (build 6.0, build 6002) Language: Nederlands (= Dutch word for 'Dutch) System manufacturer: Dell Inc. System model: Dell DM061 BIOS: Phoenix ROM BIOS PLUS Version 1.10 2.2.1 Processor: IntelĀ® Core2 CPU 4300 @ 1.80 Ghz (2 CPU) Memory: 2046 MB RAM Graphics Card: 256 MB ATI Radeon X1300PRO I hope that's enough. Of course I tried this all. I'm very sure it's the sound card because software like Windows Media Player indicates that when I start it.
  8. Thanks for the reply. Let me give you some answers: I've bought my computer online from Dell. The bad thing about Dell is that they do not have the official Microsoft CD's, but they have their own versions of the CD's. I already tried all of them, including the 'Drivers and utilities', but none of them worked. Vista came installed with the computer. I never had anything else but Vista on this computer, and I never had any trouble with the sound card. I won't reinstall Vista, as that is exactly what caused this problem :). I already tried removing the device and installing it again from scratch, without effect. The strange this is that Windows Device Management does not find any problems, but all other software (like Itunes and Windows Media Player) does. So my problem isn't solved yet. Any other suggestions?
  9. So a total processor power of 13.6 Ghz (4 X 3.4)??? How is it possible such a fast computer even exists :D?
  10. You mean you have 2 processors of both 3.4 Ghz? Dude, that's a serious gaming monster!
  11. First of all I'd like to say I do not have the English version of Windows Vista Home Premium, so I might not use the correct Windows terms in English. My problems started when I wanted to install Service Pack 1 because it's required for a game I wanted to play. I found about 20 solutions for this problem, I tried them all, but none worked. The only solution left (and I wasn't really convinced to try it) was to reinstall Windows Vista. And so I did. I can now install SP1, but there were a lot of problems after the installation of Windows Vista. The keyboard, sound card, printing device, Bluetooth adapter, and many others no longer worked, but I was able to fix all of them, except for the sound card. When I look at the Task Bar in the lower left corner of the screen, the speaker icon looks like this: http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/6/23/1971930/luidspreker.JPG Strangely, when I go to Device Management (correct term?) it says that the driver is installed correctly and that the sound card should actually work. Well it doesn't, because all my software that uses sound indicates it can't detect a sound card. I already tried downloading a more recent driver, without succes. My sound card is 'SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC'. I also tried reinstalling it, again without succes. Does anyone have any ideas?
  12. I agree. But for now, there's nothing I can do about it. Although you need to click many buttons NOT to donate, it is possible to sign without donating. I didn't donate either.
  13. There you've got a point. Broken Steel is definately better then Operation Anchorage. Although I spent a longer time playing Operation Anchorage then The Pitt (except for the SteelYard quests). But even still, it's not really worth the money IMO.
  14. Also, it gets pirated a lot lately. Expecially because of the fact Games For Windows Live isn't easy to use at all. It is just easier to download a torrent file then buy it! Maybe this would be done less if the price would be reasonable.
  15. Thank you, helped a lot. Kudos for you :). Bib-lost EDIT : For some reason, I can't give you Kudos right now, maybe because the servers are too busy, I don't know. Sorry!
  16. Hey everyone, Does anyone know how to get the sound files from Fallout 3 (like the radio and the speeches) outside of Fallout 3 and the GECK, so I can use them for other things? I'd like to place GNR on my Ipod, and I just love the speeches of Liberty Prime :). Thanks, Bib-lost
  17. Hey guys, I'm looking for someone (American or Brittish, or else VERY good in English) who can write a nice, polite, and yet persuading letter to send to BS. I will not send it yet, but just so we have it. You will be rewarded with Kudos. Anyone interested? PM me. Bib-lost
  18. Indeed, it isn't a very large amount of money. so what if i sold you a lemon car you'd be pissed as hell every nickle and dime adds up its more the point they have strayed from their tradition fan base of people with brains and moved to drooling zombies buying anything their over hyped and over charged crap has to stop No need to be rude. Everyone can have its own opinion on this. Did anyone here bought Knights of the Nine, an Oblivion DLC? $2 for a DLC of about 4 hours awesome gameplay. It sold like crazy, BS earned thousands of dollars with it, and everyone who bought it was happy about it. Don't you think the DLC should be like that? BS needs to see that it is possible to earn an equal amount of money by lowering prices (maybe even more), because players who are happy about it, encourage friends to buy the DLC too, and will buy even more DLC in the future. Plus, if BS would lower its prices right away, thousands of players would grab their chance to get it, which would earn BS another $2 000. Fair deal, right?
  19. But they sure get some angry customers. And this is what we are trying to tell them, because they don't even know it. They don't even see many players are angry.
  20. I would say either Winamp or Itunes, depending on your needs :).
  21. The Sims is OK. You ever played Spore?
  22. BUT if more hardcore players would enjou the DLC, they would encourage theit friends to buy them too, which makes about an equal amount of money for Bethesda Softworks, plus more customers. And what the heck if this is pointless, I've got too much spare time anyway ;).
  23. What do you mean? Like, just not buying it? That's even harder, you know. Even if everyone who would be angry about DLC wouldn't buy it, there's still the huge amount of casual players who would pay $20 for this.
  24. cause there is demand and it creates revenue... Exactly. I've seen many complaints about the DLC on the forums and I'm not very happy myself, so I try this. It might work, or it might not, I'm just trying.
  25. I think what he means is that while it costs a lot of money to distribute the DLC on a zillion CDs, it costs one hell of a lot less to just put it online. Thus, $0 for distribution is more accurate, though not entirely correct. Indeed. Of course they need to get paid, of course they need to keep the servers online, and that costs money too. But for each copy you get from the DLC, they don't lose money, as downloads are infinite. What I'm trying to do is make the DLC for Fallout 3 like the DLC for Oblivion. @ Circitous What do you expect me to make? Letters for everyone? That would cost at least 10x Operation : Anchorage, you know. Online petitions are free, and might even be effective, as why would someone make a whole server for online petitions?
