  1. Thanks for that. I did some reading the last days about what XMP really does. The setting is enabled by default on my Mobo (???), so I didn't really though that it could harm my system that much. Now that I've disabled it: The difference is... well... what difference? You don't really notice it. Makes me wonder why everyone calls you stupid for buying memory slower than 3200 MHz. My old CPU probably doesn't support that anyway. I mean. Everything above 2400MHz (DDR4) is OC anyway. Actually, most games that have a really high CPU usage, are either badly optimized or have extremely aggressive DRM or anti-tamper (I'm looking at you Ubisoft). That eats all your cores for nothing.
  2. I had similar issues with FO4, but for me it locked up instead of crashing. For me it seems to be XMP. After I've disabled that, the game never froze again (yet). Fallout 4 is quite memory intensive so smallest instabilities can freeze (or crash) the game.
  3. If you mean one like this (the color can be changed), then my Clothes pack does contain one. The belt is removable and you can swap the shoes if you don't like them. It's for CBBE, though.
  4. Yeah. SLI is fine as long as the game supports it. Otherwise half of your GPU power is sitting idle. And I haven’t seen a newer tittle that supports SLI. That’s why I sold the 1080s and ordered a 2080Ti. It looks like the XMP profile for my sticks is a bit extreme and not stable. When I run LINX at full memory load it gives me a lot of errors. I haven’t noticed any performance degradation without XMP so I will leave it disabled. Fast memory on Intel CPUs is overrated anyway.
  5. Maybe it doesn’t give you any problems. I’m still on X99 but everything works fine so I won’t upgrade the platform in the next time. Or it’s because I have the cheaper 2133Mhz modules.
  6. Yeah. I never thought about this but disabling it stopped the lockups for now. Maybe the XMP profile is a bit too aggressive and caused minor instabilities. We all know how memory intensive Fallout 4 is. I also loaded up my fully modded game and the freezes are also gone here. I hope it will stay this way ;) That constant freezing was a pain especially on survival without quicksaves.
  7. Itâs the ASUS Turbo (the cheapest one from a vendor that allows changing the cooler) itâs actually downclocked compared to the founders edition. But it has an A-Chip. So whenever the card isnât fast enough anymore I can overclock it a bit. Itâs currently not overclocked as there is no reason for that yet. And do have that Card since a few months. But before I had 1080 SLI which caused the same problem. I just blamed SLI for it as that is usually to blame
  8. Hm... Disabling XMP somehow did the trick. I've played about 5 hours without any lockup. Weird. Well, thanks for your help. I probably never thought XMP would break games.
  9. Yeah. The creation engine is a bit weird and problematic in different ways. I will disable XMP and try it again tomorrow. Then I will report back here.
  10. I have 2133 DDR4 ram (Quad Channel). There is no lower speed and the XMP profile has the same timings as without. But I can give it a try. Never through XMP could be a problem...
  11. I removed every trace of the game. The Fallout 4 Directory in My Documents and also the small folder in the AppData folder where the plugin list is stored. Then at the first launch FO4 tried to auto-detect graphics settings (which failed as the GPU is unknown to the game). I just changed the graphics in the options dialog and started the game. The thing is, Iâm actually pretty tech savvy and know a lot about computers. So I tested a lot of stuff already. But this seems to be beyond my knowledge what causes these freezes.
  12. I do have XMP enabled with the correct profile for my sticks. Memtest didnât found any problems when Iâve tested it a few weeks ago. Iâve already checked most of my hardware. CPU and GPU are already stress tested. Theyâre not even overclocked (besides factory overclock on the GPU). I could re-run Memtest tomorrow and see whether it finds anything. And as I said: No other game has problems on my machine. Games like TD2 and AotS run without any problems.
  13. Hey, Since some time I have a major problem with Fallout 4. After playing some time, the game freezes. Audio is still working, but the video and all input halts. I then have to open task manager and kill the game. At first I thought itâs cause by some mod. So I did a clean install of FO4 through steam, validated the gameâs integrity and started a new game without any mod. And as Iâve reached Concord and begun to kill those raiders, the game froze again. Most of the time it happens when an NPC aggros. But sometimes it also happens in an Interrior without enemy NPCs. So I donât really find a pattern in that. Sometimes I can play for hours without problems, sometimes it freezes 3 minutes after loading up the game. I already tried the different graphics settings (shouldnât be a problem on my computer, but I tested it anyway). BTW. My systems specs are listed in my signature. OS is Windows 10 Pro. I know that the weapon debris cause crashes on RTX gpus so Iâve disabled that since I installed the GPU. Other games (also games that are more demanding than FO4) and apps like Substance painter run without a problem. Drivers are up-to date. Does anyone know at least the cause for those freezes? Iâm currently thinking that the engine doesnât like something on (or in) my computer. Thanks. ;)
  14. If you mean Outfit Studio, then yeah. But you may also need an 3D modeling software to fit the assaultron legs to the human legs. You can do the bone weighting inside MAX or outfit studio.
  15. Sure. You need to use 3Ds MAX, Build an animation rig for the protectron race, create your animations, export to HKX, and create a new marker in CK using these anims. The hard parts are creating the rig and creating the animations (of course) ;)
  16. What about using outfit switcher and FO4Hotkeys. It doesnât switch automatically but you just have to press a single key to switch your outfit.
  17. Face ripper can also export the face to an esp file. The NPC record has to be already there for it to work. You can also save it as JSON from Looksmenu and let faceripper write that to the ESP. It will need some adjustments afterwards esp you used face parts that are from mods.
  18. You could use the BoS Distress Signal Device. Something that may look like a futuristic wakie-talkie ;) Canât remember any other object from the game that looks anything close to a walkie-talkie.
  19. Depends. The official exporter works with 2013 only. The one from nexus (which is limited) works with 2013 and newer. Iâve tested that one with 2015 and 2018. The community plugin has some problems though. Sometimes the texture coordinates get messed up during export. If you need custom collision, you need 2013 and the official plugin from the Creation Kit as well as the Havok Content tools.
  20. There is. But itâs not part of the weapon but of the actor. You need a quest with an reference alias to the player. Then check the OnFireWeapon event for which weapon is equipped and do your stuff if itâs the correct weapon Never tested it you maybe this works https://www.creationkit.com/fallout4/index.php?title=OnPlayerFireWeapon_-_Actor If not. You may have more luck with that one: https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/4586285-papyrus-f4-detecting-when-the-player-fires-a-weapon/ There you can find some solutions for your problem.
  21. How did you created the mesh? With Nifskope? Use Outfit Studio for that. You canât edit the bone weightings kn Nifskope. And the bones are always invisible. Theyâre used for the skeletal animation system. The red thing you saw is probably the error sign from the engine. Itâs displayed when a mesh fails to load for whatever reason (not being at the right location, corrupted, wrong type of NIF, ...)
  22. I have that too quite often. I usually check before with Elrich. If it runs through, the files are usually good. Nifskope is not the right tool for creating skinned meshes (like outfits). The mask needs to have bone weighting to the body so it moves correctly alongside it. You better use Outfit Studio, Import your mask, Import the head and set it as reference, and then copy all bone weightings to the mask. You can also use MAX 2013 with the BGS exporter plugin. CK crashes when there is a problem with the Bone weighting. But it also crashes for other reasons like having precision mismatch or some wrong settings in the material file.
  23. Short Answer: It's an optical illusion. Long Answer: I has to do with the following things: FOV (perspective distortion)Lighting (and shadowing) Look at the first picture. Her face is lit differntly compared to the lower picture where there are almost no shadows in her face. That makes her face look flat. This and the FOV makes you think that her face is wider, but it isn't. Also the perspective on her is differently. Most of the time shots from the front look weird compared to shots that are more moved to the left or right.
  24. Do you want a complete Outfit or just the Blazer as a standalone item?
  25. If you mean BA2 packed or loose, then it's simple: BA2 (packed): These textures are packed together in one Archive which is usually compressed (and therefore much smaller than the loose files). The BA2 format is optimized for the game to stream in the textures in different resolutions. It results in faster loading times, less stuttering, less memory usage (esp. RAM but also VRAM) and faster texture upgrading. Moreover it's cleaner as there is only one file in your data directory instead of a whole folder. Loose (unpacked): The files are just put in some folders in your data directory. Whenever they're needed, the game needs to open the file, load it completely into memory, decode it, and then load the wanted MipMap (resolution) into VRAM to show it in your game. This has to be done for every texture on its own. Results in increased load, more stuttering (esp. on HDDs), higher memory usage and slower texture upgrading. A texture file usually contains the same texture in different resolutions because the full resolutions is not needed when objects are far away in your game. This increases performance and saves memory. Whenever you that objects comes close enough, the next higher resolution is loaded until at some point the highest resolution gets loaded so you can see all the details. This process works MUCH better with BA2 archives (=packed textures). In 99% of the cases you want packed textures. Whenever you have the choice, go for packed. Go for unpacked if you have too much memory, you like stuttering or want to get some coffee whenever there is a loading screen  I hope this wasn't too complicated and answered your question... ;)
