Download speed cap increase for Supporters and non-Adblockers
lued123 replied to Dark0ne's topic in Site Updates
In response to post #65074801. #65075156 is also a reply to the same post. Well, I was more asking about the download speed stuff, but thanks for getting back to me so quickly. Interestingly, even when signed in, the AdBlock button still claims to be blocking 1 thing, but I've never been able to figure out what that blocked element is. The page seems identical if I pause AdBlock and refresh. -

What if I have lifetime premium, but I still keep adblock active just in case I have to sign in? -
In response to post #57639276. #57653421 is also a reply to the same post. You can just install the entirety of SKSE as "vanilla" files. MO required the scripts to be installed as a mod because the VFS was weird, but Vortex uses highly compatible features that come with Windows, so you don't have to do that.

The NMM download page has really small text, at least in Microsoft Edge. And I mean like glitchy levels of small.

In response to post #55150883. Vortex does profiles. NMM does too, but it's really bad at it.

And the problem with blocking other languages is that you then don't see mods like Extended UI because the main page has the mod in several languages. I don't want to block adult content completely. I'm all for adding a few cute dudes to my game and some Spartan-esque skimpy armors for them. I just don't want the hot files to be full of boobs. I think we need an NPC version of "only for female characters". "Adds only female characters" maybe. And of course the male equivalent even though that's obviously far less of a problem. Another problem with the tags system is that different people have different definitions of cheating, so I can't reliably filter things that I think are cheaty because if I tag something as cheating, the mod author might disagree and then I'm seeing that mod again. It would be really nice if you could block an individual file, but that's probably an optimization problem on the site's end. Maybe if only premium members could do it and the block expired after a week?

In response to post #54933758. #54934208 is also a reply to the same post. One of the problems with the tag filters is that you either block Inigo or you see low-effort followers with big boobs all the time. You can't just block the tits in that case.

In response to post #54957218. #54958828 is also a reply to the same post. If you scrolled down just a tiny bit you'd see Tannin answer this question. He's also said before that it won't touch your existing installation, so you can safely test your installation on Vortex and still go back to your already working installation if Vortex doesn't quite get everything. Bear in mind that you'll probably be using a metric buttload of disk space until you pick one and get rid of the other though.

Actually, Tannin has said that you can control "installation order" in Vortex. It's just a little different in that you don't control the entire priority order. You just set the order for the mods that need to be in a specific order. You say "Put mod B under mod A" rather than "Put all of my 300 mods in this exact order."

In response to post #54841233. I thought that Tannin had said they were gonna have a way to recreate your NMM installation in Vortex, and it wouldn't touch the existing NMM installation. It was a reply he made to someone who asked about it on a news post quite a while ago, but I remember it pretty clearly. That said, you're right about the first thing. There has been no indication of Vortex's release window. Edit: I found it! "We're currently working on a way to import mods&downloads from NMM (0.6) so you don't have to redownload what you already have. This will be a manual process and it won't change the NMM installation in any way so you are able to try out Vortex without risking your working NMM install. Settings are too different, I don't think it would make sense to try and import those. Profiles are also conceptually different so I doubt an import would work. I hope to provide the same for importing from MO before we release publicly but no promises there." --Tannin42

I don't love the new layout so far. I've noticed it's less bad if I zoom out in my browser, but Microsoft Edge doesn't appear to be able to zoom out a specific domain, so that's really inconvenient.
