  1. In fact I would rather see a stealthy puppetmaster kind of character wear this. Someone like Maven, but male.
  2. Well you could just start the civil war, they are replaced after the battle of whiterun (I think).
  3. Well in fact, if you combine things well enough you could be able to get it: -The specular helmet from the Immersive Arors mod -The cloak/shoulder could be found in the Winter is Coming mod -You could use the solitude guard outfit, some fur boots and a pair of fur bracers. I think you should get really close with those. Anyway good luck :)
  4. I'm not sure if it is doable, but I definitively want to see a better "crafting takes time" mod. I used it with RND and it got seriously annoying, especially when I was starving and needed to eat, I would start cooking and once my meal was finished had a pretty big chance of collapsing.
  5. Nice idea, that guy is indeed very talented, I love his armors. BTW the Immersive Armors mod allows to craft these armors when you get the highest possible rank in their respective armies, so it is already getting pretty close. This is just a suggestion: I noticed Omegared is working on a series of armor for each hold. Have a look at them, they could fit in. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/49827/?tab=4&&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrim%2Fajax%2Fcomments%2F%3Fmod_id%3D49827%26page%3D1%26sort%3DDESC%26pid%3D0%26thread_id%3D1325984&pUp=1
  6. Just forget what I said. I think such an option would be nice so if there is a modder willing to make something like this, I would appreciate it. If not, well too bad. Anyway, you won't have to download it if you think the idea doesn't pleases you.
  7. I think this is more something I would call immersive than Debilitation. In one of the skyrim books it is mentionned that taking care of your armor is necessary, a dirty one could slow you down or halt certain movements. In the previous elderscrolls it was (lore wise) included in the armor degrading system. So having such an option would indeed help immersion.
  8. You should check his other improvement mods, they are really nice too. As for the thane armor, I found a mod that could help. It doesn't really alters the Thane-ship, but the hold specific armors could be nice: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/28044/?tab=3&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrim%2Fajax%2Fmodimages%2F%3Fid%3D28044%26user%3D1&pUp=1
  9. A fairly simple request (maybe not so simple to make however). I think It would be nice if your armor or weapons would get dirty over time: When exploring a cave you get dirt on your gear, Blood stains dry up after a fight, and walking in an ash storm on Solstheim will cover your whole armor in dust. In fact it would be something similar to the Wet and Cold mod, but permanent (at least until you clean up your armor). It could perhaps even give you some slight armor debuffs if your gear gets really murky. I anyone would have any suggestions I would be glad to hear them. ANd if you are interested don't forget to support the idea so it might get some more attention.
  10. I use one I found on the steam workshop. It gives a unique enchantment to every hold weapon, and defines a more lore-fitting appearance for each of them: silver sword for markarth, imperial weapon for solitude and so on. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=222106368 If I'm not mistaken, Thanes were some sort of warrior land-lords in the viking era. They served their jarl in times of need, and in times of peace would be granted a village or a farm settlement to adminstrate. For example the jarl could give you an estate outside the city. And you could choose to make a farm, a fortress, or just a plain village. For example: The Jarl of Whiterun could give you some lands north east of Rorikstead (on the other side of the river would be nice), at first you would only have a home for yourself. But with enough investment you could build a barn, a mill, a road to join the hold capitol, some walls, some fields. The possibilities could be endless. It could perhaps use the heartfires DLC. Just an idea. For holds as the Pale, Falkreath and Hjaalmarch, the settlement could be placed around your grounds. In Haafingar on the north coast, in Winterhold somewhere in the mountains, in Riften somewhere around lake Honrich, in Eastmarch somewhere on the road to Riften and close to the lover's stone in Markarth. And yes, a specific armor or clothing set for each hold would be great too.
  11. No it just changes all the textures, models and weather conditions so you think it is a certain season. To change seasons you have to uninstall let's say the winter edition and install the summer edition. Just to sum things up: it are two separate mods.
  12. Look for the "take notes" mod on the nexus, comes close to what you want.
  13. There are several mods that do exactly that: The winter edition of the Climates of Tamriel mod, I'm not sure if it is still updated howeverThe seasons of skyrim project: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/46628/?, take the winter edition. It is possible there are some others but these are the ones that are the most popular, and probably close to bug free. Have fun.
  14. Looks very nice. I would perhaps change the background color to red however, to fit better with Solitude.
  15. "Of Hunters, Tombstones and Pines" A Falkreath Overhaul After discovering Whiterun, Windhelm, Riften, Markarth and Solitude (thanks to the carter's services), Falkreath and the other minor holds seemed rather... dissapointing? I know there are a lot of mods that deal with that problem, but I would like to see a mod that goes just a step further, changing the entire town instead of just adding some trees or buildings. I would like to start with Falkreath (as the title might suggest), and suggest a rather huge overhaul of the city. It concerns changing exteriors, and interiors, adding new locations and new NPCs. First I would like to change the buildings, those thatched roofings don't really fit in with the forest theme of the city. I would instead like to see the pinewooden homes of riften mixed with some retextured lower class wooden homes from Solitude (like Katla's farmhouse). The retexture of the latter would suggest a darker variant using preferably pinewood. I also think that the Jarls house should be altered: Maybe using the mistveil keep model, as not only it would fit in nicely, it would also enable the merging of the castle with the guards barracks (and thus getting some extra space). Another thing I would definitively change, is the location of the farm. A farm in the center of the town, just doesn't fit in. I would move it to the edge of town. Just outside the western gate would be nice, and would give a lot of extra space to build new houses on. As you might have noticed, I plan on adding soem new houses to the town. The first of them is Valdr's home, after saving his life he tell you that he would be very glad to welcome you in his home, would you ever need it. The problem being that he doesn't own a home. Some extra merchants and just atmospheric craftsmen would be nice too: such as a Fletcher, a Coffin maker (I don't remember how you call those), a pottery (that could craft urns as well), a bakery (using the heartfires ovens etc if possible), A fisherman that has to travel to illinalta lake every week to get some fresh merchandise, and some craftsman that would use leather and furs to craft clothing and light armor (if someone else has another suggestion, I would be gratefull). I would also like to not only expand the cemetery, but also add some catacombs to the temple of arkay (that could use the temple of the divines, or the talos temple from windhelm, model), these catacombs would be filled with urns and coffins to reflect the importance of the cemetery above. A similar catacomb should be added to the Jarl's longhouse, where the more important residents lie. These catacombs might lead to some nearby nord ruin (the tower in the South-East, or the barrow just north of town, both are infested with spriggans. Hope that helps). Further changes to the interiors would include: The Jarl's place would have to be filled with hunting trophees. A stuffed bear in one corner and a stuffed elk in another would fit in nicely too. Some more references to the cemetery in the city shops. Some extra hunting trophees would fit in too.A mannequin with stormcloak armor in the general goods shop, preferably on the second floor (or basement, it dépends on how you make the interiors). Some clutter that won't fly around if your followers run next to said items.Overall I would also like to see a more densified Falkreath, to let it feel like a real city, instead of a noblified village. While also adding some trees (not in an overwhelming way) to keep both the fantasy style of the game and the forest theme. I know this might be a little too much too ask, especially as my request doesn't leaves a lot of space for a modder's creativity. However, I think this might have some potential and would be very delighted if some adventurous modder would take on the task.
  16. Just got the "jail system" loading screen in game and came up with another small idea: the isolation cell might just be a cage hanging over a very deep hole (that could shelter another escape route, who knows?), that the guards can acces with a lever controlled draw bridge.
  17. You probably won't believe it, but I never actually killed Drelas. I got into his house to take shelter from a dragon at some point, got attacked, loaded the entry-save because I thought I did something wrong (I hate killing civilians outside the usual questlines), and sneaked out just to be sure. Never came back ever again. But yes, I played Helgen Reborn (I'm afraid I didn't finish it, I reached the moment were the everything Inside the walls got rebuild, thought the quest was over and got on), and yes Mike Hancho might be interested, thanks for the tip.
  18. Ok well, this might be a stupid question, but to get a second installation ,I just copy yhe files or do I have to buy the game again (which would be slightly annoying)?
  19. Well let's say, it randomly crashes every now and then.
  20. As you might have noticed in the topic tittle. This new part of my "of something and something" request series will be targeting the beautiful city of Riften. Riften is supposed to be a city symbolized by thiefs, robberies, assassinations, beggars, nobles, corruption adn shady merchants. The only thing that suggests there are thiefs is the thiefs guild questline and some dialog lines in town. There aren't a lot more beggars than in any other town either... And overall the city doesn't feels gloomy enough for me. It should represent the basic medieval town: bad hygiene, nobles who don't give a s#*!, diseases, vermin, shady merchants trying to rip you off, dark secrets (optional) and of course thieves. There are already a lot f mods that try to change that, that's why this mod idea will b efocused on the cities surroundings and some other small détails. --- The Riften Outskirts --- The outskirts will be centered around the three city gates. Yes I said three, there is a third one, it has been barred however. I would like to include a lore friendly explanation for this: The outskirts on that side of the city have been burned down when a group of imperials crossed the Jerall mountains at the start of the war and came accross the rebel city of Riften. The Western Outskirts have been ruined. A part of it's former population now live in the Ratways or work on the nearby farms but most of it's inhabitants now live in small wooden huts on what is called the "Lakefront" by most of the other locals. It are the poorest citizens of Riften (except for the beggars of course). They mostly are Nords, Argonians and wood elves. The last part of the outskirts will be the main part: close to the northern gate and the stables: this part of the city is still very much alive and contains a lot of merchants, an extra inn, and perhaps even a brothel. Most of it's inhabitants are still fairly poor and thievery is fairly common in this part of the outskirts. --- The Ratways --- Supposedly being the core of Riften's Skooma, thieves and well all other problems the city is having there is actually nothing to see, do or say about them except for the fact that they are fairly empty. I would like to see some strange merchants living in there: Shops selling lockpicking Tools, fences, Skooma dealers, some shady merchants ( selling human flesh, hearts and blood potions from Dwanguard, for example). And perhaps a hiden deadric shrine to Mephala or Boethiah. --- Overall Athmosphere --- Well this are just small adjustments making the whole thing more believable: more rats, diseased beggars and citizens, stray animals, maybe some random spawning corpses in some dark alleys... Well just add things to your hearts content as long as they give the place a more gloomy dark ages feeling. I think that's all... As always, modders considering doing this would be very appreciated
  21. First, I like that idea. I was also disappointed when I found out what they meant by teach me something. Second, you can make your signature have text as a link like in mine (it looks a lot better) by typing "[url=" followed by the url you're linking to, followd by a close bracket which won't show up if I type it, but it's the matching bracket for [, followed by the text you want to appear, followed by "[/url", followed by a close bracket again. Thanks for the hint, and for the consideration. My idea doesn't include perk changements at all. It is supposed to add buff (with effects close to perks, I admit) but no actual perks. But even as a patch (would you really consider it) I would be more than happy. Anyways Xander, good luck with the mod.
  22. I'm very sorry, but I don't know anything about modding. So I won't be of much help from this point on (My creationkit is still having problems). I'll be continuing my book (and my exams :)). If you need any more ides, or help. Just send me a message.
  23. You are not the only one to feal that way, believe me. Nice idea, I thought of something similar when I noticed that one of the SIC (Skyrim Immersive Creatures) NPCs uses a book in his shield slot. Would be nice to see something like your idea to happen.
  24. @Daventry: I read your original post, you might be interested in my "of teachings and trainers" idea (second in my signature list). It is slightly similar to what you have requested, only my idea doesn't spefically concerns trainers or books but skill gain quests. If you are interested, you could try to merge it with this.
