  1. you haven't given much to go on here. if it's specific to that character, look at what mods you installed/uninstalled/disabled after the last time s/he was working. if you provide more info the regular users for the tech forum may be able to offer advice, but as is it's a pretty generic description and sounds like it's something to do with your specific character. Include things like mod list etc.
  2. That's actually pretty specific...lol Edit So they're doing another 30 day exclusive for microsoft? Guess they really don't want our money...
  3. l'm already part of the college unfortunately. I have stolen most of the stuff belonging to the adept etc trainers. Not the master ones, yet, but i'm getting there. I'm only level 8, though. Lol. Also - havnig a bit of trouble figuring out why the mod doesn't show up ingame the way it does in ck, need to figure out what i'm missing. I'm fairly sure it's a missing trigger box or image space or something, but hell if i can find it in the ck. had this problem with embershard mine, back when I was working on immersive lore, but fixed it by expanding a marker box thing to include the change l'd made to the cell... can't seem to find it this time around though. :>
  4. I'm pretty sure i've got navmesh figured out. I'll post a screen of the as-is layout in a min. (i had a house i was working on for a month, but lost interest @ the start of the year...navmesh took a while.) tbh this - the layout thing - is what i like. Lol. Anyway here're some images hopefully. ok, l know there's a way to upload manual shots to steam. (l'm using the snipping tool, not steams screenshot button) Gonna take me a few mins.. :> Edit - uploaded it. lol. if you wanna check it out, go ahead. i'm uploading the screenshots to it in a min tho. (it's not navmeshed atm.) http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=108453325
  5. Talking about the morrowind vaults made me decide to try building one on my own. So far, I've got the basic layout for a markarth-styled one done, attached it to understone keep and am about to clutter it up, then do navmesh. question is, is anyone actually interested in it if i do finish it? or interested in working on it even? i'm not sure how to go about doing the guards etc. navmesh is fine, but patrols are different. would probably need one or two extra npcs, too.. optional, though. Any thoughts? (posting this here because of the conversation. sorry if it's the wrong place.)
  6. Yeah l played that quite a bit when it first came out. From what iv'e been able to gather it still has glitches and stuff, though it says it's finished. Was a really good idea, though..and he made some really great progress on it, too.
  7. l was thinking they took the style of it, but lost the...appeal in the process. Like someone copying a piece of artwork, but losing that essential *something* when they do so, even though it looks perfect. + they made it so blocky & bulky. :>
  8. Ok now i'm getting interested... i hope they go with this idea further and use some of the older bottle styles - i see the sujamma here, hopefully they use the other 2-3 too... the small bottles are kind fo boring atm.
  9. Oh my god yes. /: There have been attempts at making something similar, but the closest skyrim version is...sans spoiler, it's small. Lol. That was one of my favorite things to do, not only because the rewards were great, but - it took patience and timing to get in to some of them. l miss them :(
  10. Yeah that's what l found...there was a daedric shield in an area that you explore pretty early in the game, and it didn't require any stealing even - just wait till the npc left the room. (ie, about half the day.) l miss that about morrowind - a lot of the time there WERE pretty powerful pieces of armor etc placed in some npc homes, but they were also guarded so stealing was harder. It would amke more sense to place them in skyrim if there were more guard patrols etc, but w/o the extra risk, there's nothing but benefit to stealing with it.
  11. Nah they're unowned for some reason. NPCS dont' even go there as far as I've been able to tell. As for the windhelm blacksmith, l'm pretty sure they're married, or at least in a relationship. I *think* lv'e broken in there on other chars and seen them sleeping. Lol. I tried morrowloot, but didn't really like how it was handled. Kinda weird like that... :>
  12. http://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/35172/why-wont-skyrim-start This might help - it sounds pretty similar to what you're experiencing. At any rate, there are a few suggestions that might help. The posts that really stand out to me though, are these: - good basic suggestions The thread also mentions an audio problem someone was experiencing. Do you have sound? IS it working ok? And is direct X up to date? Also, have you updated any drivers recently? These are all really generic options - i'm not a tech person, really no idea what i'm talking about. I did do a quick search on google tho, and these are all pretty standard questions for skyrim.
  13. Hmm I hadn't thought of that. Oops. i've nver really seen any threads moved, but l wonder if maybe you're right. lol. Yeah, the Hq's are good for requiring stealth instead of combat. That's really what i'm looking for i think - places that require thought instead of rushing in, & maybe interesting things TO steal. heh.
  14. So... tell me what they are. I'm playing a thief-mage character, but with the thief guild requirements mod I have to get my sneak skill up to level 25. Obviously part of that is general dungeon delving, but I'm having a lot of fun breaking into places. Without getting into quest-specific areas - ie not the museums - what places can l rob blind? Farm houses are ok for ingredients, but. :> I've already done dragonsreach - not much there - and part of the blue palace, and some random houses etc. Where else?
  15. this happens on a new character?
  16. you can also you balanc your own game to reduce how quickly you level in the first place. that's what i do, though it's more effective to start a new game with it. (or in early levels.) author doesn't seem to be responding to comments etc so you won't get much support, but ti still works. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/18474
  17. still no luck, huh? did you try all the various player.addspell fixes for each creature type?
  18. check out the mod guard dialogue overhaul :P l just installed it so haven't gotten a chance to really test it out, but if it works for you it would help with that. it adds unused dialogue to the game, among other things. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/23390/
  19. theres a mod called named soulgems that might work as an option for the soul gem part of what you're looking for. i'll link it for you. i used it for a while, but it cluttered up my inventory list because all the soul gems were singles. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/12510 this looks like a new version there's also a steam version of the same mod, but not as updated. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/5312 Acquisitive Soul Gems reading the description it's somewhat helpful but not exactly what you wanted. might be worth looking at however.
  20. l really wish it wasn't at least hard coded... l am definitely *not* a crab peoplez person. lol
  21. You could expand the grid window though, couldn't you? That's what I did whenever I started getting that much stuff. At least, I think I remember that... lol. I *really* didn't like oblivions - the color took the immersion right out of the game for me, made it feel wayy too cartoonish, but at the same time, l'm not sure l'd like this ui as a console user either. it's simply...awkward, no matter how I look at it. Even if I were using a controller, i'd still end up hvaing to scroll through an astronomically long list of items after a bit of gameplay.
  22. This post probably doesn't matter anymore - it's old enough l expect the original poster has already moved on or found a solution.
  23. Georgie - i don't think you should regret posting at all. You seem to be posting from a personal perspective that gives you more insight into the situation than most people generally have, & your response - imo - seemed balanced & fairly knowledgeable. You also asked some pretty good questions...
  24. Has beth ever stated why they went this direction with the ui? even for a console based game, ti seems overly simplistic in a bad way.
  25. I think it's the fact that the ui is pretty similar to vanilla in concept (tho the filter IS a nice idea). What i really want is an inventory based around the stupid items themselves, not the blasted item names. i miss my morrowind grid inventory damnit. :( /sob
