  1. I'm still unsure about that. I get the logic of why not but the STEP project, a few modders and a few youtube ppl that explain skyrim modding recommend to do it (gopher, gamerpoets, etc.) From personal testing I haven't seen any difference, others say that dawnguard crashes less, but then again I can't get my skyrim to run anyway. Example: http://wiki.step-project.com/Dawnguard scroll a bit and you see the recommend to clean it twice actually. In any case, try without cleaning the DLCs, make sure it works then you can play around and see if there's any difference.
  2. Did vanilla crash like right now or before you went through gromulous' guide & tips? If so, Verify Game Files in Steam.
  3. If you check the actual overwrite folder on your pc in the mo install are all the mods still there. if yes then theres no easy fix, only painful copy & paste. alternatively you can open overwrite in MO and drag and drop files to approprivate mod in the mod list.
  4. Make sure it is actually enabled. Not only in the mod section but in the plugins list too.
  5. THREADS ON THIS TOPIC in reverse chronological order [Reddit Thread #5] [THIS] [ORIGINAL POST] [Reddit thread #4] [Reddit thread #3] [Reddit thread #2] [Reddit thread #1] THE ISSUE : Crashing when running a modded setup of Skyrim. Always 15min after TESV launch with varied load orders, regardless of location and even in main menu or loading. So I found a few solutions (credits to all the lovely people that pm me) : What this definitely isn't (At least scroll through these before you post.. please, I know you mean well but maybe I thought about what you want to suggest) System Specifications : (please read before you post "laptop = weak", "get rid of texture mods" or "script mods too heavy" tips) CURRENT THEORY : What I'm thinking now is that it this has to either do with MO, some unknown process running things every 15min (doubt it) or some magical load order limitation that no one is aware of (whenever I add CRF, amidianborn mods, Thunderchild, moreHUD or Ruffled Feather the 15min crash goes back to crashing every single run...) Based on what the other person facing this issue is saying this seems to be MO's fault. I'll either test NMM or revert to and older version of MO and report back. In the meantime, if any of you have an idea on how this can be fixed or you want to tell me that I'm completely wrong, please comment below. Sheson I will sacrifice all the newborns to you, come save my damned skyrim. [/line]Extras (Load Orders, Papyrus logs, Skyrim Performance Monitor, Test Run details) : (Things that are no longer relevant or related to finding the solution)
  6. Already tried everything except merged patch. I talked to gromulos in chat and he suggested I do a bashed patch. So I sorted things using Wrye Bash and made a patch. I threw all my mods (~140) back on here and we'll see what happens. Update soon. UPDATE : Still dies 15min in. One time windows popped up telling me that Skyrim stopped and when I tried to debug (VS2015) it was talking about writing access violations
  7. I used both these mods and more on my desktop with an i5 and a shitty low-profile radeon HD 6570 only difference is my shadow settings. Not only that but I can run much newer and more taxing games with no issues. Check my background information section, it specifically exists to mitigate "weak system" comments. Lastly if you still think I'm over taxing my system can you please provide some insight into how it is I'm doing that (like @korun did), you have all the performance graphs in the OP. EDIT#1 : Currently testing without SMIM, Interesting NPCs, Incosequential NPCs or Dawn of Skyrim Collection. Will be back in 15min.. EDIT#2 : Crashed in main menu after 15 minutes. [Performance] [Load Order]
  8. Yes I use the memory patch, should of been more clean about that. And yes I use TES5Edit (background information section exists for that) But I clean mods that were flagged by LOOT + DLC. How do I "clean" mods with conflicts or do a merged patch (I usually let perkus maximus do its own thing and use that) ? I love you for trying to help but can you read the background info first? I'll add some more to that : vanilla runs maybe 5-15 fps more depending on location (ETAC being gone = no stress in certain locations).I use AVG TuneUp's Turbo mode when pugged in (aka when I play, or in this case try to play) I'm always on Window's High performance mode (laptop manages it automagically tnx to TuneUp)If you check the TESV Monitor Screenshot you can see that performance nor heat are not issues hereHere's another screenshot with many tests on it just in case [LINK] Each test can be see pretty clearly, look for everything suddenly falling to 0Breakdown : 1st 3 tests (sample 0~2500) are in menu, crash 15min in. 4th is vanilla exited after around 30min (ends at ~4400) 5th one is me actively doing things around the game before again crashing 15min in. (6000~6750) final three are again main menu tests Had it been performance related I wouldn't be crashing in the main menu. Bonus : I run Witcher 3 / GTA V for hours and they are far more demanding.
  9. THE ISSUE : [PLEASE HEAD TO NEW POST... MORE TESTING HAS BEEN DONE AND THINGS HERE ARE NO IRRELEVANT] Crashing when running a modded setup of Skyrim. Always 15min after TESV launch (15:12~15:50) with varied load orders and regardless of location, even in main menu. I've been through nuking it (2x), reviewing ALL my mods, managing conflicts (loot/wrye/tes5edit), optimizing textures(smco/ordinator), and much more. Every single easy fix that you want to suggest, I've probably tried it. I hope at least one person knows what this bulls*** is... I've spent way too much time on this and it looks like I'm the only one with this sort of problem. If any of you have an idea on how this can be fixed, please comment below. P.S.: I run a new game every time I test, no I don't believe nuking it again will help, yes I use LOOT and my VRAM is not getting maxed out. [Reddit thread here] DISCOVERIES AND PROGRESS : (latest update should be helpful towards solving the CTDs) Backgroud Information : (to avoid the generic "get rid of texture mods" or "script mods too heavy" tips) Last Working Load Order : MODWATCH *Updated on 22/09/15 12:25PM* Crashing Load Order : MODWATCH *Updated on 23/09/15 3:16AM* Current Load Order : MODWATCH *Updated on 23/09/15 2:30PM* Papyrus logs : (For the few magicians capable of analyzing this) [Test 1] [Test 2] [Test 3] [Test 4] [Test 5](No crash) [Test 6](Should have errors from a few different runs) TESV Monitor : Showing typical run (Notice Elapsed Time) TYPICAL 8 TESTS IN ONE BASHED PATCH TEST RUNS
  10. Hoping that someone can help me fix this up. Literally spend 6 hours trying to fix my skyrim setup and have actually managed to get it running until I decided to turn off papyrus logging and add a few mods back. Now even if I don't include these plugins, my game gets stuck before the main menu loads. I've been at it for 2 hours now and found no way to fix it. Also noticed that even if skyrim appears closed, I need to manually end the process else it stays in memory. I ran it through LOOT (the new 7.0 version as well as the MO built in one), fiddled in TES5EDIT and turned on and off many of the mods to no avail. If anyone notices anything wrong, I would appreciate it very much. papyrus.0.log skyrim.ini skyrimprefs.ini plugins.txt
