  1. Hmmmmmmm.... I couldn't get this to work at all, i even reordered the list so that this loads absolutely first. I may be having problems with this due to having so many mods active  if there's nothing wrong with it, maybe you could release it on nexus and see if anyone else has the same problem.
  2. Just a quick question about the NCR Ranger picture on the final title screen, I've been looking for a way to get rid of him and replace that picture with a title screen of my own design. Can this be accomplished by simply overwriting the title.jpg (wherever it is) in the data folders,or will it take an .esp to achieve? if this has been answered elsewhere, please reply and link me to it!
  3. Maybe not permanent, but I'm sure the blood evaporation could be extended somehow so that wounds give the appearance of sticking around for a while... maybe 3 or 4 minutes?
  4. Thanks Devin, I was hoping you'd see this  I'd think there should be a way to just assign the visual effect to the player body without literally crippling the limbs, if we say that player takes damage and a limb is crippled in regular combat, then it triggers the visual effect and the appropriate loss of stats etc, but isolating the trigger that activates the visual effect on its own and then using that just for the appearance is what I had in mind. But you're better at this than I am, which ever way you can make it work is best lol All i had in mind was the adding onto the encumbrance effect to give a visual sign of being slowed down as well. There isn't really a change in appearance whether it's one or both legs, if there is then I haven't noticed it since I've been playing, so I guess that part doesn't matter so much. 25% over the max carry weight would let the player carry something like 300lbs before they show visual signs of stress, for the sake of realism the carry weight *would* be something like 100lbs, but I think that'd just annoy people. It's better i think to keep the effect personalized on each player and keep it set to their individual carry limit. btw! Did you ever get the bottle mod finalized?
  5. Oh, the red diamond issue is completely fixed when i scaled the active mods down, and there's no crashing anymore. So it's resolved, But it just created a weird issue with the bodies instead. I don't think that's being caused by the same problem, I think that when i did the automatic sort in FOMM that it messed something new up.
  6. Hi hi hi there, There have been a few mods now which play around with the "encumbered" effect when the player character hits the max carry weight, which include dealing physical damage to the player or increasing H20 penalties etc... These are great, but nobodies really been willing to give the player a real physical appearance of being "weighted down with equipment", and in theory (demonstrated in the vanilla game by the slave girls at Fortification Hill) this physical appearance is easy to do by simulating broken limbs. A potential mod for this would involve activating the broken limbs triggers (not the head, because that'll cause vision to blur) when the player character reaches their personal maximum carry weight. I'm not sure whether this would or could be a universal effect that would cause NPCs and companions (vanilla or mod) to have the same thing happen to them, but it'd be an interesting feature to include. Why? I found it fun to trek from A to B with backpacks full of equipment to sell, and currently to get the visual effect of it I have to blow myself up with a couple of grenades. Anybody interested in this?
  7. Well, i cut down the number of active mods and then ran a sort load order. I'm happy to say it fixed the red diamonds issue, and there's a lot less crashing now, but it had a pretty strange side effect that I haven't been able to fix by re-ordering the load order... I have Body By Race installed, along with Breeze Bodies... but for what ever reason the load order sorting has made the default body template for girls change to an earlier (and i thought invalidated) nude body texture and mesh, and the male body is a horrible t-shirt and shorts combination with warped textures on the arms and legs. Now, Body by Race and Breezes are still recognised by the game, because when armor is added which uses either of the body mods, the textures and proportions show up perfectly. So it's just the default body which seems to have something overriding it and preventing the body mods from showing up in-game. Any thoughts? :teehee: heres the new load order again lol EZ_CompanionNVSE.esm StockingsNV.esp OutfitsReColorNVMaster.esm FalloutNV.esm DeadMoney.esm HonestHearts.esm OldWorldBlues.esm LonesomeRoad.esm GunRunnersArsenal.esm ClassicPack.esm MercenaryPack.esm TribalPack.esm CaravanPack.esm AEFCore.esm RaiderGirlCyanNV.esm WMR.esm AWorldOfPain(Preview).esm NPC Project.esm WARZONES - Misanthropy Pure.esm FoxsensEyepatchFashion.esm MikotoBeauty.esm CompanionX.esm Mallory.esp Veronica Face Replacement.esp RWD-NV v1.4 [standard Version].esp FAFFNV.esp Body by Race.esp Armor by Race w Undies.esp bzArmour.esp MikotoBeauty.esp The Mod Configuration Menu.esp AEFDeadMoney.esp EZ_GLUE.esp Slavejail.esp Slave In Pose NV Edition.esp NCR Trooper Companion - Female.esp NCR Trooper Companion - Male.esp FreesidehomeFIXED.esp Freeside Food & Supplies.esp Dan's Presidential Upgrade.esp GoodspringsSewer-1.22.esp Mojave Scout Outfits.esp NCR Outpost.esp NovacMotelRoom.esp MySoundTrackNoCombat.esp MCL_Weapon_Pack_1.4.esp Blachnick90s M37 Ithaca.esp prospectorshack.esp SDs Lucky 38 Suite Trophies.esp MercWanderer.esp Markus Follower.esp OutfitsReColorNV.esp Lucky38MarkerV3.esp NewVegasBounties.esp NPC Project - Freeside.esp thestripsentrance.esp cx01Amigo.esp cx04Kayenta.esp cx06Nevada.esp cx07Layla.esp CompanionX.esp K2K9 Treasures of the wastes.esp AbandonedHome.esp junkjunkie.esp Night Vision Binoculars.esp DeadManWalking.esp BobbleHeadGSSchoolHouse.esp Custom Fallout Weapons.esp PinupPoses.esp NewVegasBountiesII.esp 31 New Food Items.esp TacticalSMG.esp KORs Pistol Harness.esp EpockTacticalClothingRemix.esp Lucky38ScavengerHome.esp RebelStraponPort.esp WastelandFreelancer.esp Cosmetic Cigarettes -No Smoke.esp QRE.esp I5K-OWB gear NOW.esp REJill.esp The Professional_NV.esp joslinkydress.esp CompanionDe-Equip.esp DrugsAreBadMKay.esp FeelingIrradiated.esp Gambling.esp VanillaClothingMerchant.esp PortableCampsite.esp WurstBarberMachine.esp z_Fiends_2.esp ScrapMetalRecipes.esp Tactical Crafting.esp Sunny Smiles Ready To Fight.esp Hideout.esp Glow Sticks.esp WeaponBersekCrossbow.esp 1Earrings.esp Expanded Ranger Combat Armors.esp weapon pack.esp DriveableMotorCycle.esp DeadMoneyStuffinGoodSprings.esp Blck_Fx NV-- Add Implants Occulaire SM style.esp Wastestroller.esp Water _Tower_Hideout_Reworked_v101.esp MP412REX.esp NinjaVarmint.esp DuffleBagOfGuns.esp epock.esp Geonox_Wasteland_outfits.esp Companion Crate.esp Neckchains.esp GlovesGalore_DeadMoney.esp GlovesGalore.esp LHbackpacksNV.esp SariDPosesNV.esp NVRefugee Outfits.esp NudeFiendArmorNonReplacing.esp PortableCampStuffNV.esp Crossbow.esp PimpMyScarf.esp K2K9 Treasures of the wastes (Higher Loot Rate).esp Exploding Head Bugfix.esp ExerciseMat.esp QBackPackNV.esp Tailor Maid - NV.esp shavingrazors.esp CraftFireBomb.esp Nuka Break Companions.esp VegasChokers.esp 0PA_Pregarmor.esp BabyDoll.esp AEFOldWorldBlues.esp 1CazyTestEsp.esp Cables Plasma Rifle.esp Lighter Gold Bars.esp Cables New Vegas Clown Supplies.esp Follower Wait Time 10000000.esp CablesClownMasks.esp Guns&Armors.esp Cables Plasma Pistol.esp player Home.esp Bullet Reactions - Vanilla New Vegas.esp w44Satchels - Lite.esp WastelandNecklaceCollection.esp FarmingSomebodyNotBob.esp FarmingSomebodyNotBobHH.esp AEFHonestHearts.esp cass_raider_look_sugaki_v1.0.esp EZ_VanillaFollowers.esp YbwCustomClothes.esp FNV - ShopHome V2.esp Pro22.esp Followers Ready To Fight - Unlimited Companions.esp Raul Repairs Everywhere.esp SunnyCompanion.esp UnlimitedCompanions.esp Broken trees - Honest Hearts house mod.esp UnderwaterFX.esp UWFXGodrays.esp FewPosesMore NVedition.esp Jewelry.esp MCL_Pre_warXbow.esp Bella.esp AKS74u.esp WMR_Vanilla_S.esp WMR_Vanilla_R.esp WMR_DeadMoney_S.esp WMR_DeadMoney_R.esp WMR_HonestHearts_S.esp WMR_HonestHearts_R.esp WMR_OldWorldBlues_S.esp WMR_OldWorldBlues_R.esp WMR_LonesomeRoad_S.esp WMR_LonesomeRoad_R.esp WMR_GunRunnersArsenal_S.esp WMR_GunRunnersArsenal_R.esp ScrewdriversNV.esp Total active plugins: 178 Total plugins: 228

  9. Here's the problem. I stopped playing New Vegas for a while, but then decided to come back to it with some mods to play with, but I soon noticed that about half the time a lot of NPCs had turned into big red diamonds whenever I fast travelled into a new area, and they didn't revert to their normal appearance until I saved at that location and reloaded the game. I know that the diamonds mean that some texture or mesh file is missing (or hasn't been loaded) on those NPCs, but I can't figure out what is suddenly causing it. I do know that it probably isn't any of the new mods I've downloaded recently otherwise I would've noticed it, and at this point I'm just thinking that I've simply got too many mods active at once and the game can't handle them all meaning I'll have to delete a large number of them and see if that fixes it. (yes, when dropping textures and meshes into the data file I've never overwritten anything which might have caused a missing texture or mesh) On the chance that there's another way around this, here's the load list from FMM if anyone can take a glance and let me know if there's any bad apples in there or if reordering would help. it's a big one  EZ_CompanionNVSE.esm StockingsNV.esp OutfitsReColorNVMaster.esm AEFCore.esm RaiderGirlCyanNV.esm WMR.esm NPC Project.esm CompanionX.esm AWorldOfPain(Preview).esm FalloutNV.esm CaravanPack.esm ClassicPack.esm MercenaryPack.esm DeadMoney.esm HonestHearts.esm OldWorldBlues.esm LonesomeRoad.esm GunRunnersArsenal.esm TribalPack.esm WARZONES - Misanthropy Pure.esm FoxsensEyepatchFashion.esm VikkiandVanceSuite.esp Jewelry.esp Rikai'sHairPack.esp The Mod Configuration Menu.esp bzArmour.esp EZ_GLUE.esp Slavejail.esp FAFFNV.esp Slave In Pose NV Edition.esp FewPosesMore NVedition.esp NewVegasBountiesII.esp UnderwaterFX.esp UWFXGodrays.esp Spud.esp PimpMyScarf.esp K2K9 Treasures of the wastes (Higher Loot Rate).esp Exploding Head Bugfix.esp ExerciseMat.esp Gambling.esp VanillaClothingMerchant.esp QBackPackNV.esp UnlimitedCompanions.esp NCR Outpost.esp Jswords4sale.esp Jswords4free.esp Jswords4freeDMGPlus5.esp Jswords4saleDMGPlus5.esp Lucky38MarkerV3.esp ArenaAnySex.esp JeyebotCompanion.esp z_Fiends_2.esp SDs Lucky 38 Suite Trophies.esp MercWanderer.esp Markus Follower.esp OutfitsReColorNV.esp CompanionDe-Equip.esp FeelingIrradiated.esp DrugsAreBadMKay.esp Tailor Maid - NV.esp shavingrazors.esp CraftFireBomb.esp JRougeRangerCoats4Free.esp w44Satchels - Lite.esp Followers Ready To Fight - Unlimited Companions.esp Gunslinger.esp Dan's Presidential Upgrade.esp Raul Repairs Everywhere.esp EZ_VanillaFollowers.esp YbwCustomClothes.esp AllRacesUnlocked.esp FNV - ShopHome V2.esp Pro22.esp turrets.esp PortableCampsite.esp ScrapMetalRecipes.esp DuffleBagOfGuns.esp RWD-NV v1.4 [standard Version].esp AEFDeadMoney.esp Broken trees - Honest Hearts house mod.esp Neckchains.esp GlovesGalore_DeadMoney.esp GlovesGalore.esp LHbackpacksNV.esp SariDPosesNV.esp WastelandNecklaceCollection.esp FarmingSomebodyNotBob.esp FarmingSomebodyNotBobHH.esp AEFHonestHearts.esp VegasChokers.esp 0PA_Pregarmor.esp Man Hunter Starter Pack.esp BabyDoll.esp AEFOldWorldBlues.esp 1CazyTestEsp.esp Cables Plasma Rifle.esp Lighter Gold Bars.esp WMR_HonestHearts_S.esp Cables New Vegas Clown Supplies.esp WMR_OldWorldBlues_S.esp Cables Sci Fi Props.esp Follower Wait Time 10000000.esp WMR_LonesomeRoad_S.esp CablesClownMasks.esp Guns&Armors.esp WMR_Vanilla_S.esp WMR_Vanilla_R.esp WMR_DeadMoney_S.esp WMR_DeadMoney_R.esp WMR_HonestHearts_R.esp WMR_OldWorldBlues_R.esp WMR_LonesomeRoad_R.esp Cables Plasma Pistol.esp player Home.esp WMR_GunRunnersArsenal_S.esp WMR_GunRunnersArsenal_R.esp Bullet Reactions - Vanilla New Vegas.esp Holster Gear.esp 1Earrings.esp ACA-X Armor.esp Ballistic Mask.esp JL121_Vault121_Project_Fellowship.esp Expanded Ranger Combat Armors.esp weapon pack.esp DriveableMotorCycle.esp DeadMoneyStuffinGoodSprings.esp NewVegasBounties.esp NPC Project - Freeside.esp thestripsentrance.esp Fishing Shack Home.esp cx01Amigo.esp cx04Kayenta.esp cx06Nevada.esp cx07Layla.esp CompanionX.esp K2K9 Treasures of the wastes.esp AbandonedHome.esp junkjunkie.esp Playable Raiders.esp Night Vision Binoculars.esp DeadManWalking.esp MoraelinsProfessionalsSuitMod.esp BobbleHeadGSSchoolHouse.esp Recipe Dynamite.esp Custom Fallout Weapons.esp PinupPoses.esp WurstBarberMachine.esp Armor by Race w Undies.esp Body by Race.esp UseableToiletsUninstalled.esp cass_raider_look_sugaki_v1.0.esp Bella.esp NCR Trooper Companion - Female.esp NCR Trooper Companion - Male.esp FreesidehomeFIXED.esp Freeside Food & Supplies.esp GoodspringsSewer-1.22.esp Mojave Scout Outfits.esp epock.esp Tactical Crafting.esp Sunny Smiles Ready To Fight.esp Hideout.esp sjs_rainbowpunkoutfits.esp 31 New Food Items.esp TacticalSMG.esp SLCPD Vest.esp KORs Pistol Harness.esp KORs Pistol Harness JG.esp EpockTacticalClothingRemix.esp Lucky38ScavengerHome.esp RebelStraponPort.esp WastelandFreelancer.esp Cosmetic Cigarettes -No Smoke.esp QRE.esp I5K-OWB gear NOW.esp REJill.esp The Professional_NV.esp joslinkydress.esp SunnyCompanion.esp WeaponBersekCrossbow.esp NovacMotelRoom.esp MySoundTrackNoCombat.esp MCL_Weapon_Pack_1.4.esp Blachnick90s M37 Ithaca.esp prospectorshack.esp NVRefugee Outfits.esp PortableCampStuffNV.esp Crossbow.esp Geonox_Wasteland_outfits.esp Companion Crate.esp Blck_Fx NV-- Add Implants Occulaire SM style.esp Wastestroller.esp Water _Tower_Hideout_Reworked_v101.esp MP412REX.esp NinjaVarmint.esp Glow Sticks.esp Nuka Break Companions.esp MCL_Pre_warXbow.esp Total active plugins: 198 Total plugins: 293 oh yeah, and now the game keeps crashing repeatedly (initiating dialouge, opening storage etc, and i've never experienced a crash doing either of these ever), and the player character even turned into a red diamond.
  10. What's a 4GB enabler? http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/4GB_memory_patcher < something like this? If it's "software" you've got specifically to increase performance (and it sounds like it is) in gaming then that could be full of glitches and errors and typically if you patch any game and then open a savegame which was saved before a patch was installed then that file is going to be unplayable until the patch is removed. Try starting a new game and seeing if you get the same problem later on, if you do, then uninstall the 4GB and... er... complain to the maker of it i guess :ermm:
  11. I have a similar thing, it's not lagging nessecarily and it doesn't really have anything to do specifically with any one of the DLC's. But the game memory file gets larger and takes a lot longer to load as you explore more areas and complete more quests. My first time playing the game I went through and did absolutely everything and played through the DLCs and gradually I noticed that the game was taking longer and longer to load up until eventually I found myself waiting up to 10 minutes to load up, and of course, I got sick of it and created a new character  There's not really much you can do to avoid this in any meaningful way, but you could set the game to run in a higher priority in task manager, and delete some of your unwanted save games to create more space. However... what I've started to do, which helps, is to limit what you do in the game to a specific character. So, one character can avoid Dead Money and Old World Blues entirely and only plays Lonesome Road and Honest Hearts, and then another character does the opposite. That probably doesn't help you now, but bear it in mind the next time you replay the game ;)
  12. You don't need to deactivate it, try this mod to fix the "exploding head bug" http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/43813 I had the same problem a while back, I read it was something to do with nightvision goggles and the game thinking the player was wearing a slave collar... I never really figured out what was causing it, but it stopped being an issue when I installed the above mod :)
  13. Personally I'd leave the Thorn quests as they are, i'm thinking any alterations to them could open up doors to all kinds of unforeseen bugs in the storyline quests which would suck.
  14. Well trying to give fair time to everyone (other requests and current projects), but maybe I will have a little time when I get home from work. Oh based on teh soundtrack mod, I had the idea of turning your pipboy into a mp3 player. Essentially giving or having the player find holotapes. When they are selected they will play like normal messages, but they will play your favorite mp3's (that the player has placed in his/her music folder). I havn't figured out a way to have a playlist, but I did figure out a way to have a suffle list, so that's kind of cool. I figure it is more interesting than alt-tab'n out of NV to start up winamp (or your mp3 player of choice), or your ipod/phone (or mp3 device of choice). And it gives you far more control over what you want to hear than a radio station, in both content and order. Also playing with a way to allow the player to type in teh holotape name, while in game. Makes it much easier to keep track of which tape is which mp3. That's a really nice idea, the player could have 6 "old dusty holotapes" given to them which each line up with a custom mp3 in the music folder, and they play on shuffle/repeat through a "custom radio" channel on the pipboy. Also, you've probably seen this already, http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/47806 Was it you who were wanting to make a prison mod or something like that? That would be a decent model to use for it I thought.
  15. Just a thought here if anyone's considered making a tiny modification to the combat options in the Thorn- as in: the quests in the Thorn and dialogue doesn't need to be altered, but only to add more actual options to choose when picking an opponent to fight other than the Mantises and Radscorpions... like, oh, i don't know... Deathclaws, Super Mutants and Fiends? There's potential here for a really interesting mod with human opponents, Play around with some of the raider armor mods (such as this http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/38430 although it'd probably be easier to stick to vanilla armor), give them slave collars, make use of the variety of vanilla raider helmets which are hardly used in the main game, give them a variety of melee weapons (sledgehammers, knife spears, machettes, nailboards etc) and it could be very cool indeed. http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/546056_411428912255405_241764265_n.jpg http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Raider_Arclight_Helmet#Raider_arclight_helmet 8) This sounds like a "huge mod", but it's really not. All it requires is an extension of the choice of opponents in the dialogue list with the Thorn chick http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Red_Lucy and the necessary scripting to add new enemies into the arena and have the player be rewarded for killing them.
  16. the Plinking Perk Bottles fear you, Tin Cans dread you...
  17. I'd say go ahead with what you're doing with the bottles and it can be combined with the improvised weapon mod that Black put up, which is essentially the same concept we had with using the bottles for weapons anyway, but damn it, unless the player can smash a bottle of nuka cola over the back of Joe Cobb's head how is there ever going to be an old thyme brawl at the Prospector Saloon? If Black doesn't reply... (although i doubt he's abandoned it after he's already put the work into it) ... then we can just go ahead with the bottle mod on its own i suppose. But there's the no reason the updated bottles can't be implemented into his improvised weapon mod at all.
  18. It'd be perfect that way, but I suspect that'll make it impossible to use bottles for crafting other items though because it'll change the base ID(?) or whatever the crafting menu uses and mess things up ...unless there's a way to make it so that the crafting menu recognizes the regular bottle model and the weapon model as the same item. s***. I'm trying think of way to make this mod compatible because I love using those homemade sunset sarsaparilla firebombs. If it can't be done, I suggest making the bottles turn into weapons in the inventory like you said, and make an "optional file" which only lets them be crafted at a workbench or a campfire. If it's doable I think the best thing (provided you can get a decent broken bottle for the two sunset and nuka bottles) would be to have the bottle disappear from the inventory upon impact, have a little burst of glass, and then spawn a static broken bottle model in the exact place of impact (or by the players hand) which just falls harmlessly to the floor. That'd be the most realistic way to implement it and really get the feel of it. So this way the player gets one use of the bottle as a weapon in a last resort scenario - and adding the fatigue damage to it of course. Actually it turns out to be a really powerful weapon, I was playing around with them and got a one hit kill on some poor schmuck with it ;D
  19. http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/47734/ Awesome! I just noticed it on the nexus homepage  thanks Black If there's a version 2 in the pipeline, I think it'd be nice to have the weapon break after 1 or 2 uses (editing the weapon condition scripts to make it really weak) and then it can shatter (if there's an animation for that) or just disappear entirely. Also, is there any chance of applying this to all empty nuka and sunset bottles? It'd be a pain for people to have to go to the workbench each time they want to use it. Not sure if alterations to the bottle scripts would interfere with other areas of the game, like using them to craft other items in other areas... it that's the case then I guess the workbench is the only way to make it happen.
  20. err.. are you using any mods or anything? or does it happen when you do anything specifically, like fast travel or a type of enemy appears or .. something? Mine usually crashes every time I play it after an hour or two and there's no fix it for it, it's just a matter of the game using too much memory. It happens for everyone with most games with heavy graphics (my computer isn't a piece of s*** either, it's a good model where crashes shouldn't be happening) but it seems to be a lot worse with New Vegas, and it probably has something to do with the fact that's I've got over a hundred mods installed on it. My advice if you're getting crashes during gameplay specifically after installing a mod, is to uninstall that mod... or if you really like the mod, don't uninstall it and suffer the occasional crashes like i decided to do :) and just save regularly.
  21. I think to make the bottles break there'd have to be a trigger assigned to when the bottle takes damage which would spawn some static fragments of broken glass in a large radius around its place to simulate the explosion while the main bottle item just disappears. That'd be the easiest way to do it and it'd save time if it used the same fragments spawn for every bottle type rather than having specific shards of glass for nuka and sunset and w/e else. Sure, a talented artist could pull apart the models for each and every bottle and make chunks of glass specific to each one, but I don't think that's going to happen unless someone volunteers to do it.. Okay then, I didn't realize that what's you meant when you were talking about throwing bottles.
  22. I'd love to see something like this but I'm going to try and steer you away from going down the whole "make a new race" path, because i... well, just because people make them and it renders existing NPC body mods incompatible as I found out. Here're two mods which manage to seamlessly add masks and eyepatches over any kind of face type no matter what body mod the player is using: Foxsens Eyepatches http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/41729 & Cables Clown Masks http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/44339 I'd suggest figuring out how they managed to make the items merge over the face mesh, then do the same thing for facial scars and in theory that should work perfectly. Plus it can let players give the scar items to NPCs and give them scars too :pirate:
  23. noo you said something about throwing them like some parisian student, I'm talking about using them to club NPCs upside the head like a redneck in a redneck bar. There is a difference. Besides, throwing bottles on their own doesn't count as much as a weapon unless there was some recipe out there to make molotov cocktails... which there probably is. EDIT: yep, there is. http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/45083
