New mod author comment moderation features and updated terms of servic
diyeath replied to Dark0ne's topic in Site Updates
Didn't want to create a thread for something that's already been discussed to death. Just another side of this: mod authors can use this to block reports of bugs which would otherwise drive their player base away. There's definitely some room for abuse here, I hope you guys have a way to sort that out if it ever becomes a problem. -
Staff account compromise. What's happened and an apology.
diyeath replied to Dark0ne's topic in Site Updates
Hackers like this deserve a good ol' fashioned lynching. Clearly they understand there are no real world consequences for their real world actions. I sincerely hope whoever did it gets Oberyn'd. -
Very nice, I'm looking forward to the release. Two things which I think would be cool (not sure if they're planned or implemented) 1) two-handed spear animations for larger spears and pole-arms/halberds 2) some longer spears, I'd love to wield a spear as tall as, or taller than my char.

"Nexus Mod Manager has stopped working" problem
diyeath replied to saxyswimmer95's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Exact same problem over here. Was working fine then I get up this morning and bam, doesn't work. Nothing in my configuration has changed. I'm a little mad to be honest. A good program doesn't do things like this. -
New PC for heavily (I mean HEAVILY) modded Skyrim 2014
diyeath replied to eabbud's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I just bought a Titan Black and the 6gb really, really helps on a heavily modded game. I'm half convinced the precision helps out a bit too but no way to confirm. -
Except for MannyGT's earthquakes I've noticed something odd in the modding community: there are zero natural disaster mods. Zero! I for one, would love to see someone come up with a CoT-friendly tornado mod. Have a script which detects when two types of adverse weather are side by side (for example, rain and snow) and there would be a X% chance to spawn a tornado between those two weathers for Y seconds. The tornado itself could simply be a scaled up version of the cyclone shout or it could be a custom model. Other proof of concept weathers would be Blizzards (the Blizzard spell does a bloody good job with the effect) Flooding (triggered by consecutive heavy rains in a area, would have to be triggered through a trap, probably) Hail (ice falls from sky, enough said) This is less of a suggestion and more of a who else notices this lack of mod-type and who else would like to see this void filled?

Not to diminish your problem but I've never once in two years of Skyrim had a problem with a Sky Proc Patcher. There is no substitute for Dual Sheath Redux. Are you the admin on your system and what OS? Where is your game directory? 1) you MUST run as administrator (either by being an admin or by using the option labelled "run as administrator" when you right click on Dual Sheath). 2) Your OS can determine additional steps which may need to be taken, mostly in relation to "run as administrator". 3) If you have a custom directory install (not to be confused with a pirated version, there is a HUGE difference, if you're using a pirated version: Don't be cheap, go buy the game then ask for support) The Sky Proc Patcher will not work until you give writing permissions for your entire Skyrim folder (right click, go to properties and permissions, if I remember correctly) and you MUST run Dual Sheath as admin. Again the condition for 3) is a custom directory install.

Both can create issues. I suggest a test play for an hour with each mod in a area with lots of activity. If it works fine for that hour you're probably fine. If you run into issues. Dismiss your followers, uninstall AFT /UFO, get past that stage of the game and then re-enable.

A Warcraft 3 ability: Black Arrow Black Arrow applies a buff to the enemy for X seconds. If the enemy dies while under the effect of "Black Arrow" it will be reanimated as a Thrall. I'm having a heck of a time finding a mod which does this or something similar in function.

Hello, I've been trying to scour the internet for a mod that adds a custom spell based on a Warcraft 3 hero ability named "Black Arrow" to no avail. Black Arrow applies a buff for X seconds. If the target dies within the duration they will reanimate permanently. The reanimated would count as a thrall (so bonuses given to undead minions from other mods such as Psychotic's necromancy count towards it as well as a Thrall taking up one of the summon limit spaces) and its AI would be enabled. Black Arrow would not work on NPCs such as Dwarven constructs (mechanical) but will work on any humanoid, undead or creature. That's the meat and potatoes. I have tried to make this, I looked up a guide on making enchanted arrows in CK and to be honest, its way above my skill level, so far that I feel its unobtainable for myself. I think this would be a note-worthy project as it help increase the viability of a necromancer play through (which honestly needs all the help it can get, its one of the only things that is relatively unmodded at this point). Your help will earn you the eternal respect of the Worm King, may he bless you on the Necromancer's moon <3

I'm not gonna sugar coat this: I'm a staunch critic of the Nexus sites. I hate the constant errors I hate the site being down I hate that the mod manager itself has some fairly major bugs that should have been addressed once verified in a "emergency update". I hate other things about this site too but frankly, those are personal reasons rather than technical. That being said I am also appreciative of the hard work and I'm understanding in the fact that money doesn't grow on trees and to resolve these issues in a timely manner you need the mega bucks. I'm glad everything is almost done and given the massive amount I download from this site I'll be buying premium membership at the end of the month, its only fair considering the services rendered. Thanks for the hard work.

Looks great, keep up the good work.

Dat elusive white skin (need direction, I'll do all the work)
diyeath replied to diyeath's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Anyone? I'm not asking for anything but a direction to head, I think that's a fairly reasonable and easy to fulfill request. Sorry if this comes across as pushy, I feel like in order to get a response I need to be a bit forceful. -
I'm rping a half Dark Elf, half Nord character. Its going pretty good but I have one complaint and need some advice. I need white skin, not tinted white but actually white because my ENB will take any amount of color in the tint and amplify it 10x. So I went on a search, nothing works. extended color sliders when set to white is NOT white. very, very pale skin is a bit better but I still look somewhat leathery at night. So I've given up on finding what I want and instead am asking this: How do I go about creating my own skin or altering a in-game skin to suit my needs? I'm a CK noob so please be thorough in the instructions or I might not find the section I'm supposed to be looking in. I also assume I'll need a program like photoshop which is a non-issue since my neighbor is a graphics design artist and I can just borrow it for a moment (do I need a special plug-in to read a specific format?). Thanks in advance for any help given, you have no idea how appreciative I'll be.

Need help with ENB (proxy library fun inside)
diyeath replied to diyeath's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Update: So I managed to tweak my ENB quite a but by using 3 separate ENBs. I'm currently using Bleak with options from K ENB (natural sharp) and main folder files from Poupouri. It lets me have my faux AA (film grain), a soft color palate, which really helps make the place even more moody than before and its only at the cost of 50% of my FPS vs the 90% before...now when I'm moving my FPS will spike to 30 and at a stand still it hovers at 12-15 vs the constant 60 I get without ENB. So this proxy library stuff has become moot...I guess if anyone has additional info to add though it couldn't hurt, I'm sure there are dozens of people who have scoured the internet looking for the answer to my question and have come up empty handed. -

The mushroom screenshot is in Morrowind, I cannot mention more because moderators have asked us not to and quite frankly, I'm scared I'm being head hunted so I'd rather not give anyone a reason to ban me since I use NMM quite a bit and have heard some horror stories about after being banned people having their mods forcibly removed from their computer (not sure I believe it because that would be illegal but I'm not willing to test it). I did know about the presspass aspect but thanks anyhow. xD -

Ive done something similar in the past, I used some optionals from K ENB Uber Sharp+Beak-Unbleak. I ended up with some pretty epic screen shots if you're interested. http://s40.photobucket.com/user/Lord-of-Lies/media/ScreenShot41-1.png.html?sort=3&o=7 http://s40.photobucket.com/user/Lord-of-Lies/media/ScreenShot5.png.html?sort=3&o=3 http://s40.photobucket.com/user/Lord-of-Lies/media/ScreenShot27.png.html?sort=3&o=15 -
Porting content from other games
diyeath replied to Dark0ne's topic in Formal Warnings, Bans and Takedowns
That's my reasoning too but this is Nexus and Nexus may or may not have "special rules" which is to be expected. So to that end, because I'm unaware if you were a mod here or not, could I get a official statement regarding this? -
Need help with ENB (proxy library fun inside)
diyeath replied to diyeath's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Hmm I'm going to give this a shot and report in, If sweetfx has fxaa and smaa included then there should be no need to proxy past hialgo. I'll also see if removing sweetfx will help, although I'd prefer to not lose my film grain (because I use it as faux AA for my ultra bleak cinematic Skyrim experience). I'm also wide open for suggestions to that end, I have CoT+mods to make it more foggy, rainy and adds dynamic thunderstorms so anything that essentially changes the palate to a softer, potentially slightly desaturated version while giving me some DoF so I get some epic blur effects (I love blur but only when done properly, such as when it was done using Dynavision). I want my Skyrim to be so utterly bleak, overbearing and depressing that I can feel the suffering of the Nords who have lost so much to the Dominion and the Empire. -
Porting content from other games
diyeath replied to Dark0ne's topic in Formal Warnings, Bans and Takedowns
I'd like to ask a question regarding this specifically in regards to a certain mod that will remain unnamed for various reasons. What if said mod starts off by using ported assets but then ends up creating those assets by hand and replacing them? At this point is said content considered a port by Nexus and thus is not allowed? Or is it fine because all ported content has been removed, even though the author has based his original work off of a port? Sorry if this has been answered already, I read through the first few pages but 17 pages is quite the late night read. -
What is better, dual weapons or a weapon and a shield?
diyeath replied to Simniac's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
the power attacks of dual wield are scary good but your survivability drops massively. So ask yourself this: Do you want more survivability or more damage? harder difficulties (including mods which make the enemies not suck) will pretty much force you to use a shield or your dual wielding will involve a whole lot more running around trying not to die, landing a op power attack, run some more...rinse, lather, repeat. Personally though, I prefer the two handers, allows me to block and provides some insane damage (albeit slower damage). Its a great medium between the two. -
I only consider cheating when my save file becomes bloated and I lose my lvl 115 character.
